Value Village

Great location for paintings, framed artwork, fabrics I’m using to make my own pillows, curtains, and overall nick nacks for furnishing your home. Oh yeah, I also bought a beautiful selection of pillows. I’ve been to the Value Village in Kent and this one beats it by far in terms of quality and overall selection and options. Will come back again!

Best value village hands down I found brand new $ 80 dresses for $ 12 and my husband found amazing things as well ! Defiantly going to be one of our stops every time we come up! great! friendly staff too

My family and I stop in at least once a month, if not more. The store is well laid out and pretty clean. Aisles are a decent width. Stay out of the kids toy section, it’s always pandemonium in there.
We usually find what we are looking for. I buy a lot of clothes there for my teenager, she almost always finds something cute.
I know a lot of people have complained about price, but I don’t find them overpriced on most things. But occasionally there are items that are outrageous.

I like this value village and I try to go weekly to see what new things they get in, but my star rating is for their pricing. I drive from Kirkland to go here and the nearby goodwill, and ⁹⁄₁₀ I don’t buy anything because the prices are way too high. Seriously, this value village thinks it’s an antique store. I’ve been to all the local stores from mount Vernon to Olympia, and can say this one has the most ridiculous pricing out of all. Sure, every now and then, someone who works in the back at another store will get a wild hair in their ass and price something high, but this Kent location does that ALL THE TIME.
Must you be reminded that you get items for free?
I’m pretty into vintage everything, and this store likes to take advantage of things that are «old». If items were in good condition I could understand, but for example a vintage fisher price little people house, missing chunks, lithos ripping off, and nothing inside is $ 15?! A less than yard square of vintage fabric for $ 10? A vintage rainbow brite sheet (just 1) for $ 30? Those are just a few of the things I can remember looking at, shaking my head at, and walking away from.
After reading other negative reviews, I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees how high things are priced here. One can only hope that the high up people at this store or in this company actually pay attention to the complaints and do something about the people who price these things.

This value village, like all value villages is not a good value. For what they are selling (used, donated items) the prices are way too high. I was looking at a funky necklace and when the lady took it out of the case I was shocked to see a $ 54.99 sticker on it. All the rest of the necklaces where between $ 10 and $ 12 dollars. Not really sure what was going on there.
This value village does seem to be bigger and slightly cleaner than most. They have lights in the dressing rooms, so you can see what your putting on. (And find out if that $ 10 t-​shirt has a stain on it.)
Also, and I find this really annoying, if a color tag is on sale you have to hunt down a clerk and ask. It used to be posted as soon as you walked in the door, but not anymore. Today’s sale color was yellow tags, and not one yellow tag was to be seen. Anywhere.
All in all, this is not a go to place, unless you’ve got the cash for used stuff. Otherwise, go to target down the street and pay the same price and get it new.

I don’t typically shop at Value Village because it’s a for-​profit store and the prices are higher than other thrift stores, but occasionally I’ll stop in just to see what’s there. I had avoided this location because it’s near the crazy Southcenter mess, but on a weekday, getting in and out of the parking lot isn’t too bad.
This store used to be a Toys R Us, so you can imagine how large and big-​boxy it is. It’s well-​lit and pretty clean and organized, with lots of long racks of clothing, mainly women’s. As expected, the prices tended to be a few dollars higher than you’d see for the same type of item at, say, Goodwill, but I did notice several affordably priced women’s cashmere sweaters ($ 10 or so). Value Village has colored-​tag discounts, so if you can take advantage of that, you might actually score a bargain!
I still can’t shake my anti-​Value-​Village bias, though. I was there right before the holidays, and at the front of the store they had a «make your own ugly Xmas sweater» station, with plain sweaters and baggies of ornaments and decorations to purchase and pin onto the sweater. It just felt so corporate and slick, right down to the signage, and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, a clean and well-​maintained store and what you’d expect for a Value Village.

The store appears to be a pathetic remake of Seattle’s Goodwill other than it has no selection, high prices and terrible service but it is big! Mark, one of the manager at this store is rude and condescending, not only to employees but to customers as well! Highly recommend avoiding, you’ll be ripped off and disappointed after your experience here.

My sister told me to go, and I was pleasantly surprised. She said its a notch above goodwill, but a notch below Ross dress for less haha pretty accurate.
I bought 5 pairs of jeans, 7 shirts, a skirt and 2 jackets (all name brand btw) for $ 100! Can’t beat that!
They give you a coupon to shop if you donate too, which is awesome.

Store is so big and clean! The employees are MUCH friendlier than the ones at the Woodinville Value Village. Lots of nice clothes, I found an Enjoi (Skateboard brand) tank top with cats! And it’s in a convenient location near the mall. I’ll be back!

Fabulous thrift store!
Prices are higher here than at most other thrift stores, even at other Value Villages. I think it’s the location, being close to the Southcenter Mall. That said, they have a lot of great finds and there is always the specific colored tag of the day where everything tagged that color is 50% off. There is a large selection of clothing here. They also have a lot of books and jewelry for a thrift store.
I came in with my boyfriend to see if they had any musical instruments as we’re working on an art project, but there weren’t any except for Rock Band guitars. He ended up buying a package of brand new CD-R’s for $ 1 and I found a fabulous ring for $ 8.
They have a punch card, but they never advertise it. I always have to ask for it and a couple times, I’ve been told they don’t do it anymore. However, they do. They need to inform their staff better on what is going on.

I come here when I am in the neighborhood to drop items off. The drive up is really easy and there is always a nice person taking my stuff.
I walked up this time, rang the door bell and still, the guy was really nice. There is even a sign posted on where the items go and what places they donate too. Very nice.
My co-​hort and I were specifically looking for shoes. Ok, she was looking for shoes, I was looking for a top. She and I both found shoes and then it was to the tops. I was looking for a specific style, color and price.
GUESS WHAT I FOUND?!
Exactly what I was looking for. It was like the thrift gods were smiling on me!
The cashier proceeded to tell us that they have a punch card, WHAT?!
He punched my new card for the total that I spent and even gave me credit for the bags I dropped off just 15 mins before.
Thank you VV! I left happy!

Never again will I donate to (or buy from) Value Village, b/​c of managers April and Kim at this location. I’ll stick with Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill.
I had several things to buy in my cart along with an old $ 2.99 Asian decorative teapot. When the cashier rang up the teapot I noticed a chip on it and asked if an adjustment might be made. When he took it to April and Kim they studied it and determined it was no longer for sale. Apparently they have a policy that if a sticker is askew, they can refuse to sell it. I hadn’t done anything whatsoever to the sticker (if I had, why would I bring it to the manager’s attention?). Someone else must have lifted it up a little to see that the brand was, and put it back on the shelf. But the price and bar code were all clearly intact.
April said the people who would reprice it were gone for the day (4:30pm), and she said Kim had just left. I asked if she could hold it for me until it was restickered and she said no. I asked for their phone number so I could call in the morning and she said she shrugged and said she didn’t have it. I have a hunch that she or Kim must have felt the item had value and wanted it for themselves. If they want to «cherry pick» through donations for themselves BEFORE it goes on the shelf and it’s within policy, that’s their prerogative. But after it’s out on the shelf it should be available for purchase. Who wants to waste their time shopping, only to have them told it’s not for sale??? If this item was special it would have been in their showcase, which it wasn’t. I left my phone number for Kim and never got a call back, which makes me more suspicious.
If it’s their policy to refuse to sell items, they need to be more diligent about pulling items from the shelves that have had their stickers moved. It’s discourteous, and deceitful to tell a buyer that what they’ve spent time shopping for is no longer for sale! AND they should quit covering the brand. If Nordstrom’s covered the item’s brand, how do you think that would go over with customers? This is Value Village folks, a private business (NOT a non-​profit). Deplorable customer service.

wow — this place has a lot of variety! i needed some saucers to use for feeding my cats and didn’t want to spend a fortune (i use a lot of saucers), so i came here to see what i could find. i found a lot of saucers for .99 each — score! they did have quite a few that were in the $ 3 – 4 range, which i think is outrageous for a thrift store.
the store is big and bright and there are no thrift store digging skills required. they have lots of books, which is a weakness of mine. sadly, despite its size and high ceiling, it can’t escape the trademark thrift store musty smell.

This thrift store has a love/​hate relationship with me. The kids books prices are great but I feel like whoever does the pricing on all other items is way off. At least its pretty clean and organized for a thrift store.

This is a huge Value Village located in the shopping haven known as Southcenter. There is everything here, from books to games to kitchenware to clothes to shoes to Halloween costumes… everything.
There is a lot of clothing here but I wasn’t particularly impressed with what they had here. I saw a lot of Forever 21-​esque items and they seemed a bit ratty. Prices are cheap though, most items were $ 10 or less. But I would much rather pay a little more for a similar item, new!
The bags were interesting. There are a lot of small wallets and bags and the like. I did manage to find a Kipling crossbody bag for only $ 3. Probably one of my better thrift store finds.

In the Value Village vs. Goodwill war, this particular Value Village often wins me over because of their higher quality merchandise and huge selection. The only drawback? The prices. Value Village always seems to have higher markups than other thrift stores, and the prices at this location are even higher than other Value Villages.
You’re still getting a great deal, just a little more costly deal though. But the selection here is awesome — they easily have two-​three times more merchandise than other locations, and bonus that it’s all kept fairly organized and clean by the staff. Sort of makes up for the price.
Don’t get me wrong — I love a good Goodwill. But if I’m looking to pick up a certain item and I’m willing to pay an extra dollar or two, this Value Village is my first, and often my only, stop.

My friend and I spent 3 hours shopping in this store yesterday – it was awesome.
I picked up stuff for me, my spouse and our daughter. They have such a great selection! Two of the items I bought still had the original tags! We had such a great time locating our new treasures. The store was clean and tidy and the employees were nice and funny too. Highly recommend!

I’m addicted. I love their sales on half off colored tags every week being a different color. You can find some great stuff in here. I come for the books, toys, clothes and some electronics and everything pretty much!
They always have a stamp card where you spend up to a certain amount and get 30% off, that you can use on your next visit. I just filled one up so I cant wait for another shopping spree here≠)

This seems like a Mega Value Village. Maybe it’s just the layout or maybe b/​c it’s an almost brand new store or maybe its the lighting, but this place is pretty big. There was quite a selection of all sorts of merch. There wasn’t hardly any clothes partially hanging off hangers or on the floor… which you sometimes see in these type of establishments.
I was surprised by the capacity of the men’s clothes and shoes. I know a lot of Value Villages seem like they are downsizing men’s to make room for other things, but there were so many men’s clothes. And if the Halloween section wasn’t there, there would probably be even more.
I’m glad I can get go to half price books, Value village and get phở all in the same shopping center.

I normally don’t share when I find a good thrift store… but this Value Village is worth a stop. It is huge… a converted Toys R Us.
The prices are high, typical of Value Village, and they will err to the side of overpricing something than risk letting something «valuable» go cheap.
The housewares and smalls are fun hunting. The clothes selection is huge. Perplexingly, the linens section is rather wimpy.
It’s recently come to my attention that Value Village — which has always been privately owned and FOR PROFIT — has cut back further on how much it donates to charity. Look at the signs… they’ve changed: they make a small donation to charity every time we make a donation to them! That’s crap!
So…a good stop for us, not so good for charity.
