I ate here a few months ago and will never return after there was an insect in my taco! I drove past the other day, and was incredibly sickened by the memory. Do not eat here, unless you want a cockroach special.

I had a burrito, it was good. The coffee was very weak today. But they made it a little better. It was still weak but tolerable. My husband had the Menudo. He was not impressed at all. There was very little hominy if any at all. The tripe was too chewy. And it was way to salty he left most of it still in the bowl. I believe he only had 5 spoonfuls then gave up because it as way to salty. This was the first time hat we have had a bad experience here at amigos in Tulare, CA.

I visited this restaurant once 2 or 3 months ago. Food quality was very poor. I had ordered a combination plate of 1 cheese enchilada with rice & beans. Surprised that the employee just took a plain tortilla, sprinkled cheese on it and a ladleful of sauce, then microwaved it a bit — tasted bad, nothing like what I’d expect from a restaurant for the price they charge, and certainly not authentic Mexican food. Have had no interest in going back to this restaurant.

The food is ok I found a small bone in my chicken burrito. While the lady was making my burrito she whispered something to the other employee there and they both looked at me and started laughing this was the 2nd time I’ve been here and experienced rude employees

Completely disappointed in the food and service. My family and I have given this place several chances, each experience only gets worse. The food is far from authentic and more assembly line cafeteria style. The business seems to cater more to the bar crowd. The employees have zero customer skills. They pay little or no attention to you. If you are looking for fast, over priced, mediocre food with poor service. This is the place

This is the only mexican restaraunt I will eat at here in the valley. It’s close to the food at San Diego! Carne asada fries ! For some reason their tortilla chips and sauces are good too!

Food wasn’t that great, and the micheladas were a disappointment too. First time there & I won’t be coming back…

Me and my girlfriend always come here on our way back from visiting friends in LA and we look forward to it every time. She gets the nachos and I get the student grande burrito and I think it’s a better burrito then chipotle even. The best part is my burrito is bigger then at chipotle and only costs $ 6.50. Can’t beat that

After all these years living I tulare finally tried this place out. Won’t be back. This place is simply… embarrassing. Wife had the grilled chicken salad. Bagged salad with a few strip of grilled chicken. And 2 grape tomatoes to make it look«homemade». I had the taco salad with the chicken. Guacamole was brown, cheese was nasty. I will say the chicken was good. But worst of all the people were just unfriendly. That’s just not cool at all… anywhere! Maybe they’re sad/mad cus the food sucks.

Bad customer service. Employee with baseball cap, Hispanic gentlemen is very rude to customers. Wife ordered food and she told him what she wanted and he doesn’t listen then blames her because he has to make it again. Need to fire that guy. Bad attitude and not friendly.

We eat at the Amigo’s in Visalia a lot. This is our first time at this Tulare location. For the price, the food is very good! Will drive down more often to Tulare to eat here.

I’ll give the place two for the Micheladas. We came here today to grab a quick bite before our movie. I had had it before, and I remembered it being inexpensive and filling. I had had the rice plate, and when I asked for it this time, I got stares like I had a pair swinging off of my chin. Everything looked higher priced than I remembered, and I asked for a quesadilla to keep things light on the wallet. To be completely fair, I should have looked for it on the menu before I ordered. Instead I assumed it would be around $ 4. Half way cooked, my eyes wandering the menu, I settle on the price. $ 7.50! It must have been a mistake. That must be some meal price. I ask the«cook»(there are several microwaves actually doing the cooking) if that is the right price. He asks the girl behind the register, and my worst fears come true. Yes, they are actually charging that much for a tortilla and low grade large shred cheese. I make a comment that I’m surprised at the price. The register girl nearly chokes on her surprise that I would say anything. After a large roll of her eyes she walks away and refuses to help me. Another worker comes up to help me. He was nice with a goatee. I again made a price comment as I was paying $ 17 for a quesadilla, and a taco salad with some iceberg and olives. He smiled and could not defend the price. They ask if I wanted the sour cream and guac that comes with the quesadilla. Hell yes! There is no way I’m not getting everything that comes with that price point. My first bite into the guac shows me that this place is trying to maximize profits by cutting way back on the quality. The guac has that horrible tang of bagged premade guac. I will not be giving them another dollar of mine.

Came here for a quick lunch. Was disappointed that I couldn’t get chicken breast. I got the shrimp cocktail, it was good with very few shrimps in it. It was very sweet and didn’t taste very authentic. I’m not a big fan of sweet shrimp cocktail. Also tried the fajitas. Again not very authentic, it was more like an Asian stir fry. No complaints on my part, just not what I had expected. This fajita had broccoli, zucchini, and mushrooms in it !!!

Food is not bad. They need to work on the menu. Staff rushes you, there is no indication of what is an entrée and what is a side. No obvious combinations. Too much confusion to enjoy your meal.

Location is good near an outlet shopping center. Parking is easy. The way the restaurant is set up is cafeteria-like.you order the food, pay, and then sit down. Ok.odd. Therefore, the service is not good. The guys who stand there to take your order doesn’t even offer to help you choose. The food wasn’t that good at all. You can get better food across the street; not worth the price you pay. However, it is a good place to just sit and dine with a friend.

Tried Tulare because it was on my way back to work. I think from now on I will go out of my way instead. The food was sub par and the service lacking. At least in Visalia they make sure the food looks appetizing, ours was take out and looked like Taco Bell. If you want great Hispanic food, reasonably priced go to the Amigos in Visalia. Get treated grandly and fed well. Chili verde to die for. Skip Tulare.

No real complaints about this place, except that their salsa cups are the tiniest cups in the world(seriously, the whole world!!) and they ask that you only take 2 but then pay for more. It’s only like 50 cents for another teeny tiny cup, so I just take more — don’t ask. It’s not stealing when you consider how little they give you in the first place. And if it is stealing, remember that it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Or play the illiteracy card. I like the tacos here — it’s hard to mess up a taco. Order it deep fried(they don’t deep fry the whole thing, like Jack in the Box) but they do fresh deep fry the shell — very much like I make mine at home. So this is terrifical. The iced tea is a fountain drink! But it’s in an independant casing… so it looks like fresh brewed. There’s no real point to my pointing that out. It was just an interesting fact I learned last time I was in there. I like to ask how frequently tea dispensers are cleaned out(you’d be shocked) and that’s when I learned how this one works. Mmmm, tacos and tea.
