Great service, yummy food. There’s a train going around the dining room, so cute! I’ll be back. And the outlets are super close. Going shopping now.

Stopped in here with my daughter on our way to Huntington Lake. We were seated swiftly by a very nice man. My daughter is autistic and has some unusual mannerisms. The staff was very kind and attentive. I got a veggie scramble, which was good and not too greasy like some places make it. My daughter liked her fries and chicken strips. We were served very quickly. We will probably make this our go-to stop when traveling through the area. It was just what we wanted for a quick, non-fast food lunch.

We stopped in after traveling most of the day. I had the meatloaf and my wife had an ham and cheese omlet. Both were very good. Our server Lorrie was effient, helpful and made our meal even better. The apple pie with apple pie ice cream hit the spot. They have the apple pie ice cream special made and add chunks of apple pie to it. The meatloaf dinner included a salad or soup with the meal and biscuits or apple muffin. I had the senior size which was plenty. I highly recommend this resterant for the food and outstanding service.

Friendly service and great food! So glad we finally tried this place! We’ve only been twice but each server was very friendly and welcoming. The food has been great… so much more I can’t want to try! Great price, great service, great food!

OMG! Best breakfast ever! Granted, it took quite a while to get our food — boy was it worth the wait. Son had French toast, husband had the value breakfast, and I had biscuits n’ gravy. All of is was fabulous!

Didn’t live up to expectations. We chose this place for the Easter Family get-together because of the good reviews. I really wanted to try the apple pie. The waitress brought our check before I was done eating the main course. My plate wasn’t even half finished. My husband spoke up and added a desert for him. I figured I would do the same, but after I was finished eating. Once I finished the I called the waitress and asked to see the menu for desserts. She looked at me, turned and walked away. Everyone else got to try the pie but me. The portions were very small for the price, I was still hungry when we left. Everyone noticed how small the portions were. That almost would have been okay, but the food was terrible. My husband ordered the Ruben sandwich and he said it tasted like the ingredients came from the grocery store. My plate probably had 2 ounces of chicken in total. I expected good, homemade Mexican food, but it wasn’t any better than this Gringa could do at home. There were 8 people in our party, but we had split checks. For my husband, my toddler and me the bill came to around $ 42 and some change. That is very high considering the portion size, and I’m not a big eater. Also while I sat watching everyone else eat pie the plates from lunch were never cleared away I think we sat for about 15 – 20 minutes with a dirty plate in my face. I usually leave a good tip, about 20%(that would have been about $ 8.40) because I once lived off of tips and I know how it is. But this time I couldn’t bring myself to leave anything. Service was bad, price was high and food not all that great.

This review is long overdue. My husband and I ate here many months ago. The food was fantastic. Most notably was the pork chili verde over the breakfast burrito. It was fork tender and flavorful. We will be back.

When travelling on Highway 99, this is the spot to stop and sit down for an A-OK or better meal.(And totally beats stopping at a noisy fast food establishment off the highway!) I have heard good things about Apple Annie’s from other road travellers. This home style eatery is easily accessible from the highway. Apple Annie’s is charming with its home style setting and a toy train that makes its rounds on the track. Old fashioned décor of late 70s/early 80s. I don’t mind outdatedness as it was nice to take break and relax from a few hours of driving and enjoy a taco salad. I chose a taco salad because it was the only salad that said it had romaine lettuce. Other salads were with iceberg. The taco salad with chicken, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, tortilla strips, and cheese were good enough for me. The sweetie had a burro burrito which is a wet burrito and it was totally fine. On my first visit, I had the potato skins which was more cheese and bacon than actual potato and good enough. Anyway, the menu has plenty of American fare to choose from. Hosts and servers are pleasant and efficient enough. The restaurant was clean and quiet during my visits. There are plenty of Corporate diners and fast food places on Highway 99. Apple Annie’s is a much better option when stopping by in Tulare. 3.3ish rounded down to 3 stars.

Went on a whim on the way up to Northern California! Their Mary’s Mess Special, Chicken Fried Steak, pancakes, and hot chocolate was some of the best food Ive ever had at a breakfast place. I will definitely coming back :)

I have stopped here about 4 or 5 times while traveling between northern and southern California. It is an easy on and off of I-99 in Turlock. The menu is country /homestile cooking café. The hamburger, sandwiches, soups and breakfasts are always great. I tried the meatloaf lunch on this trip and was not impressed. Too much gravy that seemed salty and tasted canned. The earm bread and butter was great. I recommend this place for breakfast but would probably not recommend for dinner.

Great spot! stopped in after looking over the photos on Unilocal.ordered the chile verde and eggs and my boyfriend ordered the country fried steak and eggs. the chile verde was very tasty and flavorful, scrambled eggs and country fries were average and that’s the only reason I give them 4 stars is the sides are just so-so not as good as the rest of the dish. sampled the country fried steak and it was nice and juicy. biscuits and gravy were very good, biscuits are very fluffy and delicious. ordered a apple dumpling and it was delicious! very big dessert and we shared it. service was quick and all staff was very friendly, we will be returning when we are in town.

With a name like apple Annie you might expect fresh fruit but we got frozen fruit on our waffles. And the waffles are the thinnest I’ve ever had. But still taste great.

This place is about a 45 minute drive from Fresno. I’m only in Tulare if I ever want to visit the outlets. I often see this place and been wanting to go for quite some time! This place is old fashioned, grandma’s cooking, blast from the past dining. I did feel a bit of a calming comfort while I was here. I took my sister and my cousin. We were tired from walking around the outlets and finally decided to give this place a try. Firstly, the décor is so flippin’ cute! There is a train that goes around the restaurant. Haha. It’s just so old fashioned and I dig that kind of stuff. Others on the other hand would say they probably needed an update. The food is pretty fresh from what I can tell. I LOVE that they offer smaller sizes to their main dishes. Even the small portions were big, so it makes me wonder how they normally come! I ordered the meatloaf while the other two got chicken fried steak. These come with a choice of soup or salad, biscuit, garlic bread or muffin. We all ordered different things to try them all. The meatloaf was pretty good, felt generally homemade and fresh. I got the soup of the day it was albondigas(meatball soup) it was pretty good as well. I tried the muffin and oh boy was it sweet. It was an apple muffin and it was pretty tasty. She asked if I wanted dessert but I was content just from that muffin! I was filled to the brim, and my wallet wasn’t too sad either because this place is pretty affordable and might I say pretty adorable too!

Old style diner in Tulare — great find off the 99. The staff was very attentive — very friendly and accommodating — top notch customer service! The food was good — we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The food came hot to the table, and they kept refilling our drinks and even offered us a to go cup of our soft drinks for our long drive home to South Pasadena! They had a few old school games up in the front — Ms. Pacman! And they still had an actual pay phone! When was the last time you saw one of those… I would suggest not leaving any valuables in your vehicles — it looks like there are quite a few people walking around that were just released from prison!

Apple Annie’s has such a Cozy and Comfortable feel to it. We try and come in whenever we can for breakfast or lunch. There are two big rooms filled with booths and tables. They even have a small patio area for eating outside. I like to order new things off the menu since they have a lot to choose from. My two favorite items on the menu is the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs Benedict. It’s tastes like that All American Home Cookin’ everyone talks about. Everything is so delicious and made from scratch. The staff is amazing at what they do to make Apple Annie’s more enjoyable. Every waiter and waitress we’ve had the pleasure of meeting has always gone above and beyond with service. Some mornings can get extremely busy, where wait time can be 10 – 15 minutes but there isn’t a wait time for food. They bring out the drinks and food quickly. I always look forward to whenever we go to Apple Annie’s!

While heading down highway 99 after a weekend visit with family in Northern California, I saw billboards for this place in Tulare called Apple Annie’s. I wasn’t particularly hungry, but I thought it’d be nice to stop and stretch my legs, and hey, nothing wrong with grabbing a quick dessert. The restaurant’s right off the freeway with plenty of parking. The interior’s got an eclectic, old timey look and feel to it that’s both intriguing and inviting, and you could spend quite a bit of time just checking out all the interesting pictures, posters, and knick knacks. But, I wasn’t here to look at knick knacks… I needed some dessert! Let me say this, Apple Annie’s certainly gives you plenty of dessert options! They’ve got pies and ice cream(there’s this thing called an apple nest sundae that sounds absolutely amazing), but the thing that caught my eye was their hot apple dumpling with cinnamon sauce and apple pie ice cream! It sounded amazing and I just had to try it… and it tasted even better than it sounded!!! I don’t know anything about any of the other menu items, but I can guarantee that the next time I’m heading through Tulare, I will be paying Apple Annie’s another visit!
