BIGLEBOWSKI with a mix of MadMen’s last season. It felt like«The Dude» was going to show up at any minute or Don Draper would come in with his smooth walk and cigarette in hand. This place is amazing. Service was AWESOME. Didn’t have the food, but it looked tasty. We snuck in a game at around 10ish on a Tuesday night with our sleeping baby(nobody knew our LD was there). Our LO slept until our last round. We like going when it’s a little slow because it’s like we have the place to ourselves. Lastly, I saw a complaint about the DIY scoring. I kinda like that. A little simple math never hurt anyone; it keeps the mind sharp.

My friend was having a surprise birthday party thrown for him at Dustbowl Lanes and it was my first time visiting. I walked in and was kind of surprised by how cool the interior was designed. It was like stepping into the past and into a 50s Era Bowling Alley(with a few modern touches like flat screen TVs). Even the scoring system was pencil and paper. There were 6 lanes open and then a small sideroom with more private lanes. There were some large tables and some bar areas to sit at with plenty of chairs. There was a large bar that wrapped around the back of the lounge area and they had just about anything you could want. There was also some food being served that smelled good, but I didn’t try any of it. Just another of the really cool places downtown.

I went in to Dust Bowl with a friend to have a couple drinks and bowl last night at 11pm. Right when we walked in we asked what time they close and they told me at midnight on slow nights. There was a large group inside and people sitting outside. Within 30 minutes, one of the bartenders came to us and said that we were only the 3rd or 4th customer of the entire evening so it was surprising when we came in and to let her know when we were ready to wrap up. I found that highly unprofessional and did not appreciate the staff making my friend and I feel unwelcome at their establishment.

Such a fun place! Had a great party in the private room, enjoyed our wait staff as much as the drinks and the food. They were fun and added to the experience and also had fun drink suggestions and were VERY attentive.

This place is amazing for events. We had our post rehearsal dinner event here. Rented out 5 lanes and everyone had a blast. Wait staff was amazing. The check in process was seamless. I love dust bowl and would recommend it for any large event you’re hoping to host or even a simple date night or night out on the town.

Great little hole in the wall bowling alley. We drank beer and bowled about 4 games. Super nice workers and the food was great. We will be returning in the future!

I visited this place recently while in town on business. Just stopped in for a few drinks and didn’t bowl or eat. What a cool place! Love the retro look and atmosphere! The folks serving me were wonderful… super friendly and quick with the drinks. They keep that beer super cold, and that’s a big plus. The place was spotless and tidy. Don’t know about the bad comment from a poster above about the restroom being dirty… it was as clean as a surgical suite when I went in. This would be an awesome venue for a company party or private birthday party.

Wow what a fun place! I’ve been for date night, and with kids and adults days. The best time we had was on a slow night where we had a lane all to ourselves and it was nice and relaxed. Aside from that one night every other time we’ve been has been busy but the staff is always friendly and on top of task. Plus they serve PBR in a tall can! Bottom line is it’s a clean bowling alley with bowling alley fair and drink. The staff is courteous but not overly friendly to kids, the type you would expect in a bowling alley!

Spent my Valentie’s Day at Dust Bowl. How fun! They had singles event that made it fun and a little less weird to be single. Lots of drinks bowling and fun. Over 100 people came out to bowl. I would highly suggest the tots with chili cheese and all the fixins. They hook it up for sure! Yum

Now, I suck at bowling. But I still enjoy Dust Bowl. The place has a great look and feel. The bartenders are friendly and a lot of fun to talk to. The bar is extensive and there are a few bar snacks as well. The entertainment doesn’t stop at 10 pin. There are video games and at one point there was a bocce ball court in the back, but it might be gone now. It’s pretty easy to get a lane. Even if there are only a half dozen or so of them. The private room is nice for parties. Not cheap though. But I know some regulars who love using it and don’t mind paying up. The shirts they sell there have some cool retro designs too. Sometimes it can get pretty packed. But I always have a good time when I go.

What a fun place! When I think bowling alley, I think tons of lanes, but Dust Bowl offers a more intimate atmosphere that I really like. I think there were maybe five or six lanes in front of the bar area, and then a private room with two lanes, which we were in. Unfortunately, we had just pigged out on Mexican food, but I hear their tots are delicious. I stuck with a rum and Coke for the evening, but the special cocktails sounded creamy and yummy(again, too heavy for my belly filled with Mexican food). The private room had a true vintage couch that looked straight out of the 1970s. The lanes are old school and you keep your own score. We had a great time and I love that Dust Bowl offers a fun, unique bowling experience.

«Hip Hangout!» My wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary here at the Dust Bowl. Very fun and entertaining experience. Smaller than I thought from the outside but really it is great for a close group of friends. Tots, tots and more tots! They serve tater tots in several different styles and have a full bar for those of you that like drinks with your bowling. Private room for bowling with a intimidate group of friends. You own sound system and I believe tv in there as well. Neat place. I will be back and for the $$$ it was spot on. Enjoy!

For you undiagnosed/untreated ADHD bowlers — this is your place, the only place, really, that you can say, «I bowled 301(300& won»… Few lanes is better(even private lanes) — not enough lanes to distract your impulsive/restless nature, leaving you to focus exclusively on knocking down pins. Never had to wait, crisp tater tots & cold Hamms beer(hadn’t had one for decades since youthful days in Minnesota), & very responsive & pleasant staff. My best bowling experience ever. I’ll be back.

I loved the Dust Bowl instantly because of its name. Perfection. This place can get really crammed. I really don’t recommend being too dead-set on bowling and instead coming with the attitude that if it happens, it happens… but this place is still a neat place to hang out in. I’ve been here a few time, but my last visit was the Thursday before 4th of July. Oklahoma is clearly a lake state because the place was pretty quiet for the #1 drinking holiday to be just the next day. Bowling was dead and the bar wasn’t too crowded, but it took us forever to get the attention of anyone to get drinks. Prices and selection are just mediocre… but they did have Big Buck Hunter! Hecks. Yes. We skipped bowling this time(but keep in mind, the bowling isn’t computerized. you have to keep track yourself. while drinking!) and just played the arcade games(the ones that weren’t broken) and then headed outside to the nice little patio area. I will say they have the absolute best patio furniture. Everything covered in fake grass is a tad odd, but they have chairs made from springs which are just a blast to sit on(easily amused, yes, yes, I know). I like the Dust Bowl because I’m a huge fan of drinking games. Bowling is a clear winning, but it isn’t often you find a bowling alley that is trendy, not dumpy and moderately priced. I feel like there is usually a lane that isn’t working and a lot of time the arcade games are out of order too, but luckily the bar area is still a fun place to hang out in and there is usually a friendly crowd here. Dust Bowl is definitely one of the major wins of the Blue Dome District!

Dust Bowl is quite possibly my new favorite place in Tulsa. The place in itself is not new, but it is very new to me and holy yay I couldn’t be more stoked. This place is very much downtown right in the Blue Dome District, a place you simply can’t go wrong to spend part of your day or night. I ventured here on my birthday with my boyfriend for something to do for a few hours. Best choice ever! We had a blast and got slightly tipsy in the process, but I still slayed my lane like I’d been practicing for years. Okay maybe I exaggerate but bowling is a great thing to do especially if you have no shame like me. They’ve got all ball sizes to choose from and clean shoes in all sizes as well. If you forget socks(don’t) then you can purchase some for $ 2, which you can either keep or throw away when done. I love this place because they have quality beer and good drinks. The last time I had gone bowling(years ago) it was nasty domestics at an extreme price. Bleh. My favorite part of Dust Bowl is the atmosphere. If you love 70’s décor, colors and patterns, this place is perfect for you. Plaid carpets, oranges, browns, olives and even furniture to go with it. Great beer and full liquor bar that you can order from your lane and they bring to your table. All scoring here is done old school style, on paper. If you haven’t had to do so before it can be confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes near habit. You can ask staff(not all know) or just google it for yourself. And if you don’t want to bowl, you can just sit at the bar, or enjoy some TOTS. Damn I forgot about the tots. All kinds of em, and that’s all that is there. And if you don’t want that either, you can play some video games! I have never made reservations here, but I have heard that on the weekends, especially in the evening it can get pretty busy. They do reserve lanes, all you’ve got to do is call!

This place has a great staff, good drinks an fun bowling. Their tater tots are amazing, it’s a miracle that so much flavor is conjured out of such a simple item. Thunder punch is delicious and even more fun to drink during the playoffs. The place is always clean and the bowling lanes are sparking with burnished and waxed wood. The patio outside is fun too. Grass covered couches and funnest spring stools you’ve ever bounced on while getting your buzz on.

A great little downtown bowling alley, with a full bar, and hilarious food. Dust Bowl is all about the kitschy ridiculousness of old school bowling alleys from our childhood. The execution, is pretty damn right-on. I’m a huge fan of the bathroom décor; from the Miller High Life wallpaper, to the brutally«Olive» fixtures. The concept is fully… flush. The huge bar is a big bonus. Awesome view of downtown, decent drinks, and get ready for some seriously«trailer park» delicacies. Dust Bowl serves a wider range of Tater Tots than you can imagine. Horrifying? Somewhat. Delicious? I gotta say so. I don’t think you could live this way every day of the week, but every now and again, it’s a nice guilty treat. Oh, they have bowling, too. Did I mention that yet? It’s definitely a fun place to take friends for a lighthearted outing. Get after it, y’all.

If I have visitors in town for only a few hours, this is where I take them! It is located in thriving downtown in the glorious Blue Dome District so a full day and/or evening can be enjoyed parking centrally in this area. For weekends, be sure to make a reservation for a lane if you desire to bowl… which I highly recommend! From the front door, to the retro carpet, the framed framed photo of Nixon bowling, to the well working vintage arcade games, this place has serious style and gives bowling a beautiful vintage vibe. When you bowl, I recommend going with another couple of people to split the bill or it can be pricey. Price is depends on how long you occupy a lane and shoe rental is extra. This place stays true to being old school so it doesn’t have TV’s which keep track of your score. You are given you’re own score sheet so be sure to google how to keep score. Not interested in bowling but want to enjoy a drink? Do it here. Huge wooden tables are around the bar area which accommodates larger groups and they share one of the best back patios in Tulsa with Dilly Deli. This patio is crazy cool with faux grass couches and chairs and other accessories you just have to see for yourself. I promise you’ll want to instagram at least 3 photos in this area. I don’t know if it’s my Minnesota-en roots that gave me a love for TATERTOTS or what but let me tell you what… this place has the best tots besides my Grandma’s kitchen.

@DustBowlTulsa, I think I love you. I love how you don’t try too hard, but manage to be so cool. I love the throwback feel, the reclaimed bowling lane doors with pins for handles, the weird Barbie dolls. I love your big tables and your back patio. I love tater tots, and your abiding love for the Dude. I love that your servers and bartenders seem to enjoy working there, and aren’t too cool for school. Just friendly and fun and good at their jobs. I love that this almost always ends up on my list of places to hang out when I’m in Tulsa, which means I now have memories of being there with some of my favorite friends. We get caught up over a few frames and a few drinks, and do something a bit more interactive and experiential than merely sitting on a barstool. Invariably, laughter and self-deprecation ensues, and I think you always end up having 72% more fun here than you would at a regular bar. In short, I think you should set up shop in Oklahoma City. What’s that, you are? Well, in that case, let’s have a long and happy relationship. Let’s grow old together. I’ll be the gracefully aging, slightly crazy, borderline-inappropriate-but-funny-enough-to-get away-with-it older lady. A curvier, less crass Cloris Leachman. I’ll drink as many Greyhounds as you do White Russians. You can be the eternally handsome, knowing soul. Like if Jeff Bridges were a bowling alley. Does that make sense? Note — I wrote this review at 10:00 in the morning. I have not been drinking. I’m planning my future relationship with a bowling alley and I’m not even a bit tips. That should indicate how serious I am.
