Popped into this delightful spot for an after work beverage and was pleased to see that the beer menu spans pages and pages and it’s small print. Organized by type, prices and ABV clearly listed, it’s hard to go wrong at McNellie’s. And they have food too. Sandwiches and salads, appetizers and desserts. And it all looks great. I enjoyed two beers while watching the comings and goings of the crowd before moving onwards. This is a neat little pub and terrific for Tulsa!

Clean and tidy the place is a Highly suggest the potato soup and Ruben. They also have a wide section of beers on tap and bottles.

Lots of beers on tap and also many bottles. Great for gatherings with friends or even corporate events. Sometimes the service has been slow for me and I have never been super impressed with the food. It isn’t bad or anything, it just isn’t awesome. I go here for the drinks and atmosphere.

I haven’t been to Ireland and I have to imagine a Pub there would be so much more than JEM. While I left full I was not blown away with what it had to offer. I came here with 2 friends and they managed to miss the mark on 1 of them and got her order completely wrong. Our waiter did make me a honey dip for my french fires though. That was a nice touch when I asked about getting some. The drink selection for beer is deep and wide. Lots of different options from a lot of different makers regionally and not. Decent food, decent prices, and beer options if that is your thing.

Went in at 9PM the night of an Iron Maiden concert, sat at the bar, and ordered a Belgian Tripple and the Steak Frites. The friendly bartenders, Tess and Kristen, took great care of us. The steaks came out a bit overcooked, but my buddy and I swapped plates and sent one back. It came out a tad under, but I ate it anyway, because of time constraints. When the bill came, neither steaks were on it. That was completely unexpected and unnecessary, but much appreciated. The steaks were very well seasoned and tasted great. I highly recommend this place. I am from Dallas and have worked in many restaurants, and have high standards. In was quite impressed.

Nothing like a solid pub, serving unpretentious grub(though they are toeing the line a tad with those blackbean burgers), and a respectable selection(five pages deep) of beer. I have yet to see someone order the St. Bernardus Methuselah(check the price on the menu for a chuckle), and can only hope that I will live to see it happen… one day. If you are going to make this a regular haunt, be sure to ask about their centennial club(a pantheon of drinkers who have imbibed 100 distinct brews).

McNellie’s Public House is a neighborhood pub located along 1st Street in the Blue Dome entertainment district of downtown Tulsa. Some might describe this place as an Irish pub, though I found McNellie’s to be more like a traditional British public house with tons of beer selections, and delicious well-priced menu items. The owner is a guy named Elliot(I knew that I liked him for some reason!), spent some time in Dublin, and brought back a love for the pub culture of that region. McNellie’s is the place to get a pint and a bite to eat. It’s also the neighborhood gathering place for everything and everyone, with a great selection of draught and bottled beers, plus an impressive collection of Irish and Scotch whiskey. Oh happy day! The outside of McNellie’s is a cozy, brick-faced building with large windows showing off the eating area and the bar. Inside, the exposed brick walls continue with dark, hardwood floors and butcher block tables. There’s an area with a pool table and bar shuffleboard games. McNellie’s has over 350 beers, both draught and bottled beers from all over the world, and an amazing selection of scotch whiskey. Be sure to ask about the collection of mugs on the wall, and find out how to earn your own. Since it was chilly outside, we decided to start with some soup. Half of our gang had the potato leek soup, and I was in the group that ordered McNellie’s Beer House Chili. That turned out to be a zesty blend of ground beef, chorizo, and chili spices, finished with a splash of beer. For my main meal, I ordered the Landlord’s Cottage Pie(like a Shepherd’s Pie) with slow-cooked Guinness marinated beef tips topped with mashed potatoes and cheese, and served with a side of steamed veggies. Our group tried a number of the entrée selections including the grilled salmon, Cajun meatloaf, and bratwurst platter. After the meal it was time to enjoy sipping on a Scotch whiskey while playing a game of pool, and our gang thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining evening.

If you’re looking for beer in downtown Tulsa, you’ve found your spot. McNellies’ has so many drafts and bottles to choose from it’s somewhat difficult to pick one, and to me, that is a great problem to have. There’s the main restaurant, the side-bar, and upstairs(be warned, upstairs is smoking). I usually go on Wednesday cause it’s Burger Night, $ 4 for a burger/fries, heck yea! The food is decent and worth the wait. You’ll have a great time if you go.

This place never disappoints! Have been many times under many different circumstances… Having dinner, lunch, or just out for a drink! The patty melt and sweet potato fries hit the spot with just about any of the beers they serve! If you’re a beer lover, this is your place!!! I’ve never been somewhere with such a large selection. I recommend a flight of beer for sure. Their cheese plate appetizer is amazing as well! Loaded with goodies.

Love McNellie’s. Today was the first negative experience i have ever had here. We have a very rude, condescending waitress. I have never been treated so poorly.

Ok folks, here’s the way it’s supposed to work in business… I recently gave this pub a 1 star review for really poor service. Clearly even I knew that we caught this poor kid at the end of a long day. That being said, a manager named Jessica proactively reached out to me to both apologize and to ask more questions about the experience. This is a business that cares very much about the customer experience and the voice of the customer. likely the main reason they appear to be so successful(**great food helps their cause as well!) I tried to remove my original post but am apparently more tech challenged than I thought. NOTE– they did not ask me to remove it or change my opinion, but simply offered an apology. great stuff and great business. Thanks for a nice experience and I look forward to a return visit this winter.

The BEST reuben I have ever had. Also, the side of tabouli was fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere inviting. I wish I had time to hang out and try some of their beers. Huge selection.

This is, sadly, my first review of McNellies. Based on this visit, it would have been 2 stars. But it’s such an awesome pub(and I’ve been in a few abroad) and many previous experiences were admirable, I’m sticking with 3 stars. I’m not a big beer drinker but have share-sipped various fights on many occasions & thoroughly enjoyed myself. Beer drinkers LOVE this place so kudos on that. And college kids(that I’ve known) LOVE cheap burger night. It’s no wonder the place is always packed! Mcnellies 10⁄17 Food Truck Day! By the time we got there it was so packed one could barely walk. We really wanted to try Lone Wolf but the line was way toooo long, so I suggested McNellies, having eaten there **many** times. I crave their patty melt. By 12:30 it was filling up with families fast. My patty melt was delivered with a perfect burger, cold bread, cold, unmelted cheese! Onions not caramelized at all. Waitress Kelsey was great and immediately reordered. The second wasn’t up to par either,(still not caramelized) but I enjoyed awesome sweet potato fries while I had nothing else to eat. Hubby had a rueben but likes Old School Bagel better. I had only been disappointed one other time @ McNellies, & it was @ McNellies south, where my patty melt was an abomination. I was in a hurry with no time to send it back. Both were skimpy on cheese. What happened? Once, forgivable. Twice, there’s something wrong. Sent from my iPhone

I came here really late one night after hanging out at the comedy club. I came with friends, so I didn’t even eat. Three stars for the amazing beer menu. I’ve never seen one quite so large. minus a star for bouncers at the door. Is this a pub or a club?

The best Pub in Tulsa! I have never had a bad experience at McNellie’s. They are you classic pub on the second floor and a nice family environment in the first floor. All the food is great and the Beer selection is daunting to say the least. I find myself trying at least two-three new brews every time I visit. The atmosphere is my favorite part and I will be coming back for years!

We came here on a Saturday evening around 630 for dinner. Just visiting Tulsa, we scoured Unilocal for a fun, local spot for dinner. This spot is located in downtown Tulsa and had great reviews, so we decided to check it out. The service was… Meh. It left a lot to be desired. We needed refills throughout the evening and our waiter was no where to be found. We ordered the fried curds for an appetizer. They were delicious. You could taste the freshness of the cheese and the breading was light and airy. I ordered the burger(add cheese & bacon) and fries. They asked me how I would like it cooked medium. However, when I got my meal, it was cooked well. Not super flavorful or juicy. But the fries were good and I loved the homemade ranch dressing. My hubby ordered the restaurant week dinner(ribeye with mashed potatoes and gravy & asparagus). It came with a house salad and bread pudding. It wasn’t worth $ 35. And he was pretty disappointed. We won’t be back.

McNellie’s is respectable seeing as how it was one of the first businesses to jumpstart the downtown Tulsa revitalization. Just a few years ago, there wasn’t a single person downtown after 5pm and now there are apartments, shops, and restaurants going up on every corner. McNellie’s definitely played a big part in this. McNellie’s is a really fun place to go for a drink with friends. The upstairs area is seat-yourself so while you can order food up there, it’s more relaxed than the downstairs. They also have a bar area, pool tables, darts, etc so it’s a great, open space to mingle around. The only down side is that they do allow smoking upstairs so you leave smelling very strongly of smoke but some people might enjoy this aspect. They do a $ 3 Burger night on Wednesdays and while this is a fun idea, I won’t go on this night anymore. The deal is good but the long wait, slow service, and sometimes cold food just isn’t worth it to me. We went a few weeks ago and ended up being there three hours for not so great food. Overall I would recommend maybe trying McNellie’s for dinner on a night other than Wednesday but definitely for a drink out with friends.

Never had a bad meal here. The Steak Frites is one of my all time favorite. The beer selection is amazing and the draught beers are always fresh.

Stopped in with a friend on «Pint Night»(order the pint night beer and you get to keep the glass). After we had a couple of pints we settled down for some grub! I had the open faced chili cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The service was spot on despite a busy dinner hour, the food was delivered hot and fast. The chili burger was served on a slice of Texas toast, the chili was fresh(not from a can I think), and the burger was moist and flavorful. All and all a nice place and a nice meal, I’ll be back!
