I’ve shopped at Jo-Ann’s many times for fabric and craft needs. This seems like a fine store but I recently had a terrible experience with their fabric. I made a quilt top and was looking for plain navy fabric for the backing. I found what I was looking for so I bought 8 yards of the fabric for about $ 45. When I got home to wash it. the disaster started. I washed that fabric probably six times in the washing machine, did two vinegar soaks, and then a few more runs through the washing machine — it would never stop bleeding. We then went back to the store looking for a chemical to set the dye in the fabric — the sales associates couldn’t believe the fabric would still be bleeding and didn’t have the chemical needed to set the fabric. I bought the chemical at another local store, followed the directions exactly, and it’s still bleeding! I have wasted so much water, detergent, energy, and time on this silly piece of fabric. But if you’ve ever devoted hours of time and love into sewing a quilt top, you know that you do not want anything ruining the beautiful colors. I then asked if I could return the fabric — but no, you can’t return fabric once it’s been washed. That makes sense. except the excessive bleeding wouldn’t be apparent until after washing! Perhaps this was a fluke in the fabric but I would think the store should have the customer service to help remedy the problem. I have given up on that fabric and am going elsewhere to try to find better quality fabric.

This store has a large assortment of fabric and anything you might need for sewing, quilting, scrap booking, knitting, crochet, and other crafts. This location is usually pretty clean and organized except for their clearance aisles but that’s to be expected since customers tend to mix it all up. They offer a lot of classes as well, so if you’re looking for an opposition to learn something new, ask for their class schedule. They have seeing, quilting(different levels), cupcake classes, cake design and more! Their prices are pretty reasonable too, around $ 35 for 2 or 3 hours of instruction.
