The worst experience! I went to this store to buy a fridge, washer and dryer for my first home. The guy helping us talked me into getting this washer that had these great features that I loved. Comes to find out, it DOESNOT have those features! Then, delivery day comes and I call the store to confirm my delivery. A guy answers and says, «Man, you were on hold a long time, we’re busy here.» Umm, okay, well I’m calling to make sure my stuff will be delivered. «Oh yea, sure.» Are you going to ask my name to confirm it is on the delivery list? «Yea, give it to me.» So this guy swears up and down that I will be called around noon by the delivery guy and my order is «for sure» on the truck. 4:00 pm hits and I get a call from the delivery guy saying he was just handed my delivery order because the store screwed up and he can’t deliver my stuff. My irritation has hit an all time high at this point. Then I get my delivery, only to find that my fridge has 4 big dents in the door. So I go down to the store and request they order me new doors. They do so, and tell me they will be calling me within the next week. 2 weeks later, I have yet to receive a call. So much for using the local store for my stuff. Next time, I’ll go to Lowes.

Ok, so I’m breaking my cardinal rule of not reviewing mainstream chain or franchise establishments by reviewing Sears in Turlock but I’m afraid my customer experience here was bad enough that I just had to. First off, I’d like to make it clear that the place gets 2 stars simply because the people that work there are pleasant for the most part… depending on who is helping you. They lose 3 stars because they simply don’t know enough about the products that they are selling or about the credo«The customer is always right». A brief overview of my experience: 1. I searched for a tool set online and call and verify that Sears has it in stock; i“m told that they have three. 2. i buy the tool set on with the option to ‘pick up in store’ 3. I go to the store to pick up the tool set and is informed that«It isn’t in stock»…I am staring at one such set sitting on the ground in the tools section. 4. The SKU on the tool set doesn’t match the one on the web site although the description, photos, and contents are identical. I find FOUR tool sets of the same price with the correct SKU sitting next to the first set that I found. 5. They finally let me take the one that matched the SKU on the purchase order. 6. I ask to exchange it for one of equal value that is the one that I originally wanted to buy 7. I’m told they dont have it in stock… hilarity ensues. A quick phone call and ten minute drive to the Sears in Modesto solved this problem. The guy in the tools department was able to switch it out without even needing a receipt. Its too bad that I had to drive to Modesto to pick up an item from the same store when it was sitting at right at my feet in the Turlock branch. Ridiculous.
