Allen James Salon

I called Allen James salon a few months ago when I was interviewing for job positions and needed a quick flat iron. I usually wash and blow dry my own hair, so I just needed a quick and affordable flat iron. I’m quite particular about the way my hair is flat ironed since a have thick, frizzy hair. The salon connected me to Crystal who was willing to do a flat iron for a super affordable price. I absolutely LOVED her work. She’s amazingly sweet and awesome. She’s a renaissance woman, so go to her whether you want make up, hair cut, flat iron, up-​do, etc. I have kept going to her for almost a year now.

The decision to stop coloring my hair every two weeks was an easy one, but the process was not easy! Shannan made the transition so much easier by making my hair blend beautifully! I’ve been so pleased with my services and my hair’s transformation! Shannan is amazing!

I’ve been with Ashley for a couple years now. We’ve always been doing the creative colors. She’s talented with colors and always educated herself when it comes to my hair and canceling colors out to get the new color i want. She has maintained the integrity of my hair, which is quite hard since I bleach out my hair or change the color every couple months. She’s very well priced as well.

A total thumbs up for Ashley Folk! She makes you feel very comfortable. You’ll get a beautiful color and thorough cut with Ashley’s skills. It’s a plus that she attends classes to stay up to date on products and styles. I like to take a pic of what style I’m shooting for, and there’s no doubt Ashley can duplicate it. I have shorter hair, but I’ve seen her work on color and styles for long hair and it always comes out beautiful.

Ashley Folk has been coloring my hair for over a year now, so naturally when she moved to Allen James. I came with! My hair is extremely thick and has gone through a lot (super dark to bleach blonde, overlapped highlights, major breakage, etc), so finding a good hair stylist is NOT easy. After going through reviews online, I came across tons that raved about Ashley’s work and decided to take a chance; needless to say, it was the best decision I made! Every experience I’ve had with her has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve seen her with clients other than myself and it’s evident that she puts the same level of effort/​care into every do (no matter how complex or simple the request). Very happy customer.

Love me some Ashley Folk! I’ve been a loyal fan for about 3 years now + can’t stop raving. She really listens to your needs + takes the time to adapt whatever hairstyle you’ve been eyeing to your particular hair type. Such a master at everything she does (cut, color, special occasion, straightening, etc) + added bonus: gives THE BEST SCALP MASSAGE during shampooing!

So I just moved to SoCal and didn’t have a ‘go-​to’ hair salon. Luckily a friend referred me to Ashley Folk! Let’s just say the apt went well because I highly recommend her! She was extremely patient with me as I showed her a bunch of pictures I pinned on Pinterest. Lol. She definitely got what I was going for. I needed something different, fun and easy to maintain. Not to brag, but my hair turned out Pinterest worthy! (: an added bonus is that Ashley is so sweet and welcoming, she’ll make you feel right at home.

I started going to Christine when my other manicurist went out on maternity leave. Christine always does a fantastic job. She has lots of colors to choose from! The salon is very cute inside. If you’re looking for a new salon, I would recommend Allen James!

I’ve been a loyal client of this salon and Shannon for a couple of years, and can’t say enough positive things about my experience. I suffered from severe skin allergies from hair and bleach products, and was ready to give up my blonde hair forever. I found Shannon through Unilocal,and was thrilled she offered several options of organic and PPD free hair products to try.
I have been completely allergy-​free for some time now, use only PPD free products, and love the blonde color and cuts I receive (color, highlights and lowlights all fabulous). My hair has never been healthier, and I highly recommend Shannon as a color specialist and stylist (she is the owner).
In addition, the salon is conveniently located with alot of parking and freeway access. Everyone in the salon is super friendly and professional, and they offer comprehensive beauty and salon services for all.

I’ve been a longstanding client at Allen James Salon, my entire family are clients, in fact and since it’s opened. The owner is my stylist, who I’ve had the honor to follow as she’s launched her salon career over the years. This salon is an absolute gem.
The salon itself is clean, charming and has a great flow about it. State of the art equipment, comfortable chairs, a large selection of great services from hair to eyebrows to waxing to nails, along with a great offering of top of the line hair product in case you decide to purchase something your stylist used.
I’d highly recommend this salon to anyone, male or female. young or old. I live in LA County and drive to Tustin, I’m that dedicated. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

My girlfriend always gets her hair done by Veronica and it always turns out gorgeous. I recommend this place to the fullest! Nh R. only rated 1 star because she was probably insatiable. Everyone I see on Unilocal has pretty positive reviews. Definitely check this place out!

Would never go back there again. Very disappointing experience. Read all the great reviews and thought this was the place to go. Regret every bit of it. Never again.

Ashley F. is great! I’m so glad my friend recommended her to me because I was apprehensive at first to do anything to my hair since I haven’t dyed or changed the style of it in over 5 years! She definitely made me feel comfortable and confident in her work. She did an amazing job at my balayage and even took the time to make me look perfect before I left (though I had no where to go afterwards-​wish I did to show off my new hairdo! Haha). She’s definitely a perfectionist and now I can’t imagine myself going anywhere else to get my hair done :)

I don’t consider myself a salon girl, but after Shannen colored my boring dishwater grey into this gorgeous multi carmel, I am in love! I’m especially impressed it looks natural because she really knows her color and matched my skin tone perfectly. Plus the salon is professional, clean and friendly! I finally found «my salon»!

Ashley from complete me beauty has been doing my hair for God knows how long. I bounced around so many different hair stylist but have been so loyal to her since I got referred by a friend. She’s a perfectionist when it comes to color. I get asked about my hair a lot because the balayage she did is so perfectly blended and I refer everyone to her.

I have been coming to see Shannen for about four months! She work miracles and astounds me by making me look great every time! I had never colored or bleached my dark Asian hair. Shannen started with beautiful alternating caramel highlights and streaks of red. Then more deep purple burgundy red. But this time she turned me into a blonde! And every time I get more and more compliments! I am so happy I will never go anywhere else! Thank you again!

Diana just gave me an awesome haircut and highlights. I used a Groupon but I never felt like I was getting «Groupon service» like you get at a lot of places when you are using a coupon.
First: my highlights. GORGEOUS. I showed Diana a picture of Jennifer Anniston (because who doesn’t want Jennifer’s golden, glorious locks)?. My color came out so beautiful and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve gone everywhere, even driven to L. A. to see a celeb color genius, and this is as good as it gets. My hair is so pretty that it instantly lifts my mood every time I look at my color. O.C. ladies who are interested in gorgeous, natural, sun kissed highlights need look no further… Diana is your color pro.
The cut: I really like it. I basically asked for just a trim. Diana cleaned up my layers & my hair looks fab.
Don’t be fooled by this understated salon located in a strip mall in Tustin. You will leave Diana’s chair with Beverly Hills highlights, without the horrific drive and without shelling out a mortgage payment (I should know, I’ve done it in the past). You also won’t have to deal with any blaring music, any azzhole Newport Beach or L. A. pretension or stylists preening and running around making a scene. Diana is a laid back and cool chick with just a hint of an English accent.
