A much needed sugaring session resulted in an impromptu Unilocal check for salons near my house. J ELIZABETH didn’t have A LOT of reviews, but the clients who had left one gave this place 5 stars. So I gave her a text, she had an opening, and I decided to give this place a shot– IM SO GLAD I DID! She was AMAZING! She really took her time and was VERY meticulous! PLUS– she coached me on how to handle the pain better with some breathing techniques! I swear it wasn’t as painful as I remember it to be! She promises that if I come back more frequently (and not the 5 – 6 months I waited since my last session), these sessions will be a lot more bearable… So I booked my next one in 5 weeks!
COST: After I did the Unilocal check-​in, I got $ 5 off the service. At $ 50 for a VERY thorough sugaring session, I’m EXTREMELY happy.
LOCATION/​PARKING: I parked towards where AMC is at the DISTRICT (near valet parking). Once you walk towards the middle of the promenade, turn right and you’ll see Phoenix Hair Salon on the right. She’s in suite 125 towards the back.

I had a wonderful experience, had my first Brazilian wax and she made super bearable. Very patient and converses with you to keep your mind off of the sugaring. Plucks the baby hairs afterwards that were stubborn. the location is a bit tricky to find but its in the Salon Suit filled with small independent beauty businesses

I had my first Brazilian sugaring experience with Jessica in October 2014 and been going to her since then, even when she moved into her own location from Downtown Sugar. Since the first time, she was been very thorough and explains the process. She is very meticulous, gentle., and makes sure that she gets all the hairs out! She is so good about making sure that I’m ok during the process and warns me when she’s pulling hair from a delicate area. She takes her time and I never feel rushed.
Jessica is so flexible and accommodating with her schedule! I am pretty bad at keeping appointments and I have had to change my appointments multiple times. She is so sweet about it and always fits me in. I highly recommend her sugaring services.

Jessica was careful, communicating well throughout the process, adjusting according to your responses. She’s also easy to talk to and friendly :). Overall, not painful + zero pain after too. Only hesitation I have is that hair started growing back within a few days, but I attribute that to it being my first sugaring experience.

I’ve only been waxed twice. Once the original way with hot wax and once with sugaring. Regular waxing was absolutely traumatizing. I have incredibly sensitive skin and broke out terribly. I was in pain for a week and thought I’d never be able to do it again. But since my wedding was coming up I thought I’d try it out just one more time. I’m so glad I decided to try sugaring it was the complete opposite. The pain was bareable, I had no break out, and I felt fine within a few hours. I’ll definitely be doing it again. Oh and there wasn’t single hair left Jessica was amazing!

J. Elizabeth Salon Jessica is great. She’s done my hair for a few yrs now. Longer cuts, mid length cuts, and this time a short cut. She does a wonderful job. She takes her time and always always makes sure you are happy with her work. She used to color my hair and it always looked natural. She does such a good job with cuts you can go a bit longer in between cuts and your hair still looks good.
The best thing is she’s a christian too.

Jessica is an excellent sugarist and hairstylist! With sugaring she’s super gentle and makes you as comfortable as possible. And, with hair, she gives a mean blow-​dry and is awesome with color and cut. Her kindness and humor is a plus, too. I totally recommend her for any of the services she provides. A total professional.

I just got my hair done the other day and she mastered the color recipe. I have been to tons of high-​end Salons i. e Salon Gregories, Paul Mitchell and spending hundreds of dollars. Every time my hair would pull a brassy orangish color :(I am naturally a dirty-​blond and every salon specialist struggled to avoid the coper tones. Jessica did an amazing job with my blonde highlights and alternated with lowlight foils and it came out perfect! It looks really natural and I couldn’t be happier. She uses high-​end products and genuinely takes time to listen to exactly what you want to accomplish. I would highly recommend her services.

I followed Jessica over here after previously coming to her at Downtown Sugar since summer 2013. She gave me my first sugaring experience and I’ve been coming back to her since because she’s consistent, thorough, gentle, and careful! She is really great at making sure you’re okay, explaining things, and checking up on you in between pulls. There was a few month period where our schedules didn’t align and I ended up getting sugared by others and they just didn’t have the same care and precision Jessica has.
I’m ecstatic that she’s open her own place and its a bit farther for me but I don’t mind going the extra distance to see Jessica. Its in a building full of individual, little suites so it’s a bit hard to find but once you do, check out her beautiful décor!

Jessica is amazing at what she does. I’ve followed her from where she was in Santa Ana to her new place in Irvine. Her new place is awesome and much more convenient for me. BUT, even if Irvine wasn’t convenient for me, I would still come just to have her do my sugaring. She’s really great and is consistently so. I’m also excited that she does hair now too!

I like to keep my hair long and usually am disappointed when I get my hair cut because most stylists I’ve gone to don’t really understand/​respect my «keep it long» requests. When I got my haircut at J. Elizabeth’s last Friday, I was so relieved/​pleasantly surprised when Jessica said she understood and knew what it meant! I’m so happy with my cut! She layered it long and cut it so that I’m able to wear it straight, curly or wash-​n-​go (which for me is wavy). My fave part was how sweet she was and I felt like I was sharing girl talk with my best girl friend over drinks on a Friday night! I’ve been looking for a long time for a stylist I can trust with my hair and I think my search is done! Jessie is awesome!

This was my first experience sugaring. It was great! Way better than waxing or threading. Jessica is great at making you feel comfortable & truly listens to what you want & makes her magic happen. I was nervous because it was my first time sugaring but she did an amazing job & I couldn’t be more happy with the results. I’m the type if person that gets nervous when it comes to someone waxing my eyebrows but she truly did everything as I wanted & I am very happy! I can say that I have found my perfect eyebrow girl! Can’t wait to also get my hair done by her! The studio itself is very nice & private, it’s a great environment!
Extra tip: sugaring is actually relaxing, I found myself relaxed not tensed or nervous like I normally would with waxing.
