The blonde bartender lady was good stuff extremely friendly and provided fast service with a smile

Fuck this place. This place is disgusting. Sad excuse for a bar or whatever you want to call it.

For a town as small as 29Palms I didn’t expect to find a bar that would be much fun. Even though the night we showed up the place was pretty much empty, we had a good time! The bartender was very nice, drinks are inexpensive, plenty of pool tables, touchtunes and a big patio out back. If you’re travelling thru 29Palms and looking for a cheap drink or game of pool, check this place out. It’s a dive, so don’t expect anything fancy. –It’s behind a liquor store, so can be easy to miss.

Bartenders are rude the owner is just darn right rude, security is legit, but they over charge for all drinks! Only play rap music, if I were you I’d save your money and time! Terrible place to try to have a good time, sorry

This place is a dump and a half, and the clientele to go with it. Drinks are expensive for a place that isn’t nice. NOT one of the cool dive bars in town. It’s usually full of young Marines getting blackout drunk. That’s probably why they switch to plastic cups when it starts to get late.

I mean, what do you expect of a bar in 29 Palms? Went on a(payday) Friday night around midnight-ish and there were groups of marines and locals and women who ‘left their wedding rings at home’. As soon as we arrived, we went straight to the bar and waited in line for like 5 minutes. Not bad. Drinks were weak though so we stuck with beer for the rest of the night. Also, they dont honor the ‘free jello shot w checkin’(offer on Unilocal) so idk whats up with that. The DJ played your typical oh-i-hear-that-on-the-radio-all-the-time music so it wasnt awesome, just decent. People were too drunk to care anyway because there was a good group on the dancefloor. No one was any good but at least theyre having fun, right? Making fun of people in good humor is always awesome so we had plenty of that. Theres also like a backyard type place right past the bar with tables and chairs in case you want to smoke or get some air so thats always nice. Bathrooms were exactly as I expected, dirty and stinky. I held my pee. Up until 130am, we were having an okay time when suddenly the music stopped, lights came on, and a bouncer was walking around SCREAMING about how we need to leave NOW. No transition, no manners, just a loud, large woman in a ‘security’ tshirt yelling«If you aint finishin ya drink, ya’ll need to leave NOW!!». The other bouncers werent as ghetto but still rude nonetheless. What else do you do but laugh? We left and waited outside for a cab with everyone else. Dont come here expecting a bar/club youd find in the city. Dont dress up in heels or slacks. KNOW that youre in 29 palms and the girl youre dancing with probably has a kid and husband somewhere. And definitely drink beforehand so you already have a nice buzz goin on. Make light of the rachetness that goes on here and youll have an entertaining night.

So let me break down Break-N-Run for you. I have gone there off and on through out the years. I have seen this place rise and fall. I do not know the details but this place struggled for about two years falling apart. If you were to go in there now… it’s nothing like it was 6 months ago. Which is a great thing! There is so much more to like now about it. The bathrooms are updated and not scary looking like a scene from a Michael Meyers movie anymore. While nobody can predict when someone wants piss all over the floor… leave that to the side the bathrooms are nice. Tell the bartender if they are dirty. It’s not that hard. So now with the new bathrooms I’ll use them. The bar itself has had a facelift inside… looks much better than before. I talked to the staff and it’s a work in progress and has been positive and is welcomed indeed! The bartenders are good and are willing to hear you out and try new things when customers want to be the mixologist. I’ve done it and so can you! Tell me where else you can go and get some crazy ass drink with out the attitude or being told your drink is this or charged a crazy high price. I have noticed a change in maybe management or ownership? Not 100% sure but whatever it was it was for the better because the place is looking awesome and doing better than it has in the past two years. The dance floor is nicer more open and not crammed full of tables and chairs. The dj no longer hides in some weird room with windows. Did you know that when your in a bar full of chairs and tables your more likely to sit down, be a hater, have a horrible time and not even drink! Why ruin your night. It’s meant to be an environment of socializing not ostracizing yourselves. So when your in a place like this that’s not crammed full of tables and chairs it’s really a positive thing. There are plenty of pool tables. One thing I need to try is the new blended drinks. It’s one of those cool ice things like you see at mcdonalds and other places. It’s always hot here so I’m sure those will be awesome. I enjoy the place… you might wait for awhile for a drink on a busy night but that’s with anyplace you go to… I think the drinks here are better than any other place in 29 Palms. Try the place out for yourself!!!

This place is literally the trashiest place I’ve ever been to. I’m so disappointed in this experience, you will never find me there ever again. You walk up to the place and it seems to be decent. But everything changed as soon as you walk through those glass doors. My husband and I walk up and hand the guy our IDs. He looks at me and gives my back mine with a flirtatious smile. Ewww. Then he proceeds to look at my husbands ID and then insults him before handing him back his ID. That was their first strike. Then you go through the whole wand system and you’re in. The vibe there is okay. It’s more or less all the drunk people you can find put into a little rectangle of a room. My husband and I decide to go get a drink. There’s a line that seems to take forever. But you make it eventually and we order our drinks. Now. Most of the bar tenders were really nice and made really good drinks. But the bar tender that dealt with us most of the night was by far the rudest bar tender I’ve ever dealt with. She also couldn’t make a drink worth crap. Strike two. So we get our drinks and we are finally getting to get a good look at the place. It’s dingy and run down. Which, honestly, I don’t expect much more when going to a bar in 29. But we go find a little spot to stand in with our friends and try to have a conversation. Well. That is pointless. Which is understandable. So we are there for maybe an hour, buying drinks and watching people and talking. Then I get the urge to go to the bathroom, so my husband walks me over there and I go in. Those bathrooms were seriously the most foul, disgusting bathrooms I’ve ever been in. The soap wasn’t soapy. The toilets weren’t clean. And it smelled like pure vomit. Strike three. Shortly after, we left and went back I our house to drink. It was cheaper and a lot less likely that one of us could get sick from touching something. Overall, it’s dirty, run down, and the staff is beyond rude. I will never go there again and I don’t recommend this place for any kind of outing with your friends.

They over serve, everyone. It’s dirty. The music sucks. Drinks are too expensive for a dive bar. Don’t waste your time or money.

Fun local hangout. Cheap beers, catchy music, solid vibe. Some of the billiards tables are more expensive than others though(esp. the one that charges by the hour). It does get quite crowded late at night.

regardless of how this place looks or how its reputation stands not to mention the countless good times and bad i find myself drawn through its glass double doors greeted by its cool as hell bouncers, to the bar lined with black and white photos of past beerstuffed nights, to its smiling bartender woman, through its back door to the stone dirt patio and plopped on a bench to smoke. its the people you meet here and reconnect with here and try to hook up with here…

Having accepted a job in Twentynine Palms, I drove up on Saturday to check out some houses. Now, the high desert is like an entirely different planet, so you have to expect that things are, well, different. Since I lived there many years ago, they have come a long way though. They even have a Denny’s! lol. Anyway, after checking out a couple houses, I stopped at the Break n Run for a little refreshment(the desert is freakin’ hot!). This was about 6:30(or 1830 for you military types). Anyway, not a soul there. Great bartender though. He assured me that it would get really busy later after DJ Gio got there(I think that was the DJs name). Seeing as it was my birthday and all, I decided to stick around. Sure enough, it started to get pretty busy around 10 or 11(although I was told that it was still a pretty slow night). Wow! I havent seen this many half naked girls in, well, a long time. Not that I was complaining. It’s nice to see young women so proud of their buttocks, lol. So, dance floor, DJ, shot girl, 6 or 7 pool tables, half naked women, great bartenders. Seeing as there are few night time entertainment options in the area(unless you want to drive 60 miles to Palm Springs), I hearby award 4 stars to the Break n Run.

I have never been here on a weekend night and probably won’t — I’m a little older and don’t really like croweded rowdy bars. We have stopped in during the week while we are visiting the area. They have beer on tap and drink specials every night. I haven’t eaten here. The atmosphere is basement-like. It’s big, they have a patio area, pool tables, a stage area, and some tables. It’s a little smelly but the bathrooms are clean and it’s a nice place in the middle of the desert for a cold beer.

I have fond memories of this place… It definitely gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights but the drinks are cheap, the music is decent, and the crowd is usually good. The rest of the week it’s pretty subdued here but still a good time in my book. All you need is a pitcher, a couple red plastic cups, good conversation, and you’re good to go.
