Worst service we have ever received. We arrived at 8:10-they close at 9:30. The waitress was rude and seemed indisposed from the moment she approached our table. She took our order after basically throwing our noodle chips and sauce on the table. When we got our appetizers, she began mopping the floor near us with disinfectant, at which point my dinner guest got up an asked the waitress to please move… instead of moving the young lady insisted that this is where she always began her cleaning! We told her that it was inappropriate to clean around patrons, while they were eating, especially when there were areas where no patrons were seated. The young lady was not only rude but determined that she would do as she pleased! My friend got the manager, but she insisted that the girl did not know she was disruptive in her actions! When the food arrived, we had a very kind and personable waiter. However, our food was cold, the broccoli was barely cooked, and the meal basically ruined because of the smell of the disinfectant the waitress had used. We definitely will never return!!!

I went there and had a dish that had alot of chicken, that smelled, and tasted worse. In other words, the chicken was spoiled, and if I had have eaten it, I would have gotten sick for sure. I complained to the owner, and ahe told me that chicken was just cooked. It might have just been cooked, but they cooked spoiled chicken. I couldn’t make her understand that. So, I’ll never waste my money here again. Evidently, several people have had similar experiences likec mine, because every time I go by there, there’s not nearly as many cars as there used to be.

Our food was slightly cold. We got the sesame chicken and the beef with snow peas, and they gave a large amount of sesame chicken so that was nice. The beef with snow peas was really bland unfortunately. Our waiter wasn’t very attentive and often left before we got to finish asking her something.

Very friendly service, I had the Singapore noodles at the stafff’s suggestion and it had great flavor. I would recommend asking if the duck was cooked that day before you order it. I had the roast duck and unfortunately it was reheated duck that was previously made. I would go back and try their other dishes.

This place was great. I expected it to be typical Chinese take out but when I arrived to pick up my order, I realized it was much bigger and nicer than I imagined. While I waited for my order, the lady at the cash register was extremely friendly and made the wait time shorter for us. She even introduced us to the owner which was also very nice. The portions were great and the flavor was good. I had the orange chicken and sesame chicken. Both were great and well made. I will definitely be returning to dine in next time.

Ordered delivery from this place using Patriot. The delivery service was great and quick but the bad part was the food. Shrimp fried rice was very very bland. I asked for hot sauce of the side because I was afraid that was going to happen but they forgot that as well. The second item I got was the kung pao chicken. Now as many of you know this dish comes with peanuts but my Kung pao chicken was actually Kung pao peanuts with chicken. It was inedible. Just not a good experience. And while I will use patriot again I will never order from this place.

First time visiting, won’t be the last! Started with the wonton soup, delicious! So good, i got a 2nd order to take home. Had the general tso’s and it took up a whole plate. The rice came in a dish on the side. Definitely needed a to go box.

Drop everything and eat here now! Just left here a few minutes ago and it was amazing! My husband ordered the general Tsao chicken with fried rice, daughter had the coconut shrimp and I had the sesame chicken. Everything was excellent. We have no complaints. Pan fried dumpling appetizers were the best I have ever eaten in my life. Staff was friendly, helpful, attentive. They refilled the drinks as needed. Food came out hot in a timely manner. I almost finished my food, but sad that I just couldn’t. Portions were great. Fried rice was on point. Presentation of food was 5 stars as well. We will return soon. Can’t wait.

Orange beef was a chef specialty at this establishment… Now… My three favorite Chinese restaurant dishes are chicken chop suey, kung pow chicken, and this… Orange beef… and when I have orange beef, I’m not all about breaded, I like it more orange, more beef, less bread… And I like orange peel throughout… And if they have fresh orange slices to adorn the plate, that’s a killer bonus… Cheng’s in Tyler, had none of those things… So I would have been greatly disappointed upon first impression, except the artistic carrot butterfly on a cucumber carved leaf gave me such hope… I went Awwww.. Coooool! And took proceeded with my first bite… OH so good, the flavor of the sauce was full and danced on my tongue much like the butterfly did at the end, cuz I ate that too. LOL. Good job, Cheng’s no doubt I’ll be back. PS: Really Good clear flavorful wonton soup too!

My husband and I have gotten takeout from Cheng’s twice, and the first time we went to pick it up, we were impressed at how lovely the décor is. Tonight we dined in, and loved it. The egg rolls are so crispy, but not heavy, and the hot and sour soup is great. I had the lemon chicken as my entrée, and my husband had the seafood combo, which he loved. I ordered a pear martini, and it was great. Overall, good food, good service, and a nice time. Highly recommend.

Wonderful food. A Chinese restaurant with quality food is a rare find. The big difference between a buffet and a regular restaurant is that when it’s not a buffet you get full and leave with a to go box. This was high quality food and we have half of it for lunch tomorrow. We will be back.

Price and portions are good. Service has been great and the staff is very nice. I usually go in the early afternoon on Tuesday because kids eat free and my son loves Chinese food. Probably the best Chinese food in Tyler.

This is my favorite place to eat. It is some of the best Chinese food I have had anywhere, and it is located right here in Tyler. I recently had some friends in for the weekend and took them here to eat dinner. One of them is from Beijing and had nothing but praise for the food. The décor is also beautifully done and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The wait staff has always been extremely polite and professional. I have not had a bad meal or a bad experience here. I think it is one of the best kept secrets in Tyler. Stop by and try it for yourself and then help spread the word about this place. We need to support locally owned businesses whenever possible. If you leave this place hungry it will be your own fault. The smart choice is to ask for a to go box when you place your order and put half of your plate up before you begin eating. If you don’t you are likely to stuff yourself :-) Share your experience when you go.

This is a tough one. Not three stars, but not quite four either, so let’s roll with 3.5. Wifey and I came here last Saturday around 7:00, and the place was kind of dead. We were seated immediately, and our friendly server took our drink order. I opted for a glass of Menage a trois, and the server had a perplexed look on his face. It went like this: Server: {dumbfounded} What’s that? Me: Well, its red wine that’s listed on your wine list, by the glass. Server: {chuckles} I new here, so {more perplexed looks} let me ask. Me: I pointed to the menu. Server: {whispering} He kept repeating the wine, as if he was trying to remember a license plate number after a hit and run incident, and ran to the computer to enter it in, before he forgot what it was. Wifey: She didn’t want to confuse our server, so she politely said, «I’ll just take a Kirin.» Server: {Confused look, again} Kirin? As in the beer? Wifey: {laughing} Yes, the beer. Literally, about 15 minutes later, we received our drinks. In all fairness, the server was new, and it was apparent that he wasn’t trained on the menu. He was also very apologetic, and friendly, so it wasn’t any bother to either of us. For our food, we ordered the following: Sesame Chicken Szechwan Beef, and and order of Crab Rangoons The Crab Rangoon app was very good, as was the Sesame Chicken. The Szechwan Beef was good, but not as good as the other options. Very friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. I will return to try other menu items, and hopefully will find a reason to up the stars.

So, I walk in, nice décor, pleasant host nice setting. The bring a plate of fried won ton and duck sauce. Interesting. Nice touch even if they are scamming the idea from Tex-Mex. The one not obvious difference, duck sauce is sticky when you drop it on your shirt. Kids could end up a real sticky mess. I ordered warm saki, and it was warm, not burning hot. It had good flavor and two for my dinner were a nice light headed feeling. Glad I just walked over from my hotel. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, which is my judgment meal for Chinese. If you are used to the nondescript veggies and small chicken pieces in a typically brownish sauce or totally bland whitish sauce, this will be a slight shock. When you are normally wondering what that small colorless cube is in your food, it might be celery or a pepper our maybe even a carrot, there it’s no doubt in your mind with this one. Squash, pepper, chicken, all are definable. I would have preferred a touch, or quit a bit more actually, spice. It was mildly spiced only. Very nice presentation, enjoyable main course. I ordered brown rice as the rice, but white and fried were options also. This place passed my Kung Poa chicken test with flying colors. I would like to try the Mongolian beef next time.

We had a very nice dinner at Cheng’s. The hot & sour soup was delicious and had lots of chicken in it. We had the crab rangoon with a very tasty cream cheese/crab filling. The mustard and sweet & sour sauces were excellent. For our entrees, Mrs. Eva had the Happy Couple and I had the Beef w/scallops. We were very happy with the preparation, presentation, and flavors of this nice sit down Chinese restaurant. Very clean and classy.

What a nice addition to the Tyler restaurant scene! I had the pleasure of dining here Tuesday night — just 5 days after it opened — and was very pleased with the experience. The décor is very classy. They offer a nice bar with television and a very good selection of wines by the glass. This is not a buffet restaurant; everything is ordered from the menu which is a huge plus for me. I started with a cup of hot & sour soup, and I daresay it is some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken(extra spicy) as my entrée. The portion was generous and very flavorful. They offer a choice of fried, steamed white, or steamed brown rice; I ordered the brown and it was perfectly prepared. All-in-all the food was very good, nicely presented and reasonably priced. Since I was dining alone I ate at the bar so I could catch up on ESPN sports news. The service was friendly and prompt. The only turnoff was their conducting restaurant business at the bar within my earshot as I dined. Hearing a server chewed out for improperly serving lemons was none of my business and a little uncomfortable. But setting that aside, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely return with my family in the near future. Welcome to Tyler, Cheng’s!
