My friend and I came here in hopes for a delicious meal and everything was good until desert. We ordered tiramisu since it is both our favorite desert but were disappointed to find it had a freezer burn taste. We kindly asked the waitress for a fresher slice in hopes that it would taste better and they brought one out. Everything would’ve been fine if the manager didn’t handle the situation so terribly. She never really spoke to us, seemed very angered and refused to look us in the eye. She acted as if we had insulted her and the restaurant but we just wanted a fresher piece of tiramisu since we paid so much for our entire meal. For her behavior we have decided we will not return. Customer service was not the best and the manager was very rude. I would give this a 0 if I could. (We assume maybe it was just a rough day or maybe our message from the waitress to manager was negatively conveyed but either way, we will not return.)

My fiancée thought it deserved a 3⁄5 and I thought it deserved a 5/5…soooo we will average it out to a 4⁄5(but it really deserves a 6⁄7). The service was super great from the hostess to our waiter. The restaurant was a bit smoky due to the open kitchen but soon faded away. My rigatoni was incredible! I will definitely have that again! M’lady ate da chicken pesto pasta which was delicious but had too much olive oil, making her stomach feel«queasy and uneasy». Shout out to muh homeboy Dillon aka Mr. Waiter! Go here for food peeps.

We’re new to Tyler and always looking for great places to eat. Oliveto’s didn’t disappoint. Everything from the cheese bread to the chocolate cake was excellent. We had the scampi and the scallopini and both we very good. Service was attentive and prices were good.

With my wife’s strict dietary restrictions, we have to hunt sometimes for a place we can eat out. This place is perfect for AIP. They worked with her and her needs and the food is excellent. I am doing WW as well so I need options and Italian restaurants are usually out but this one has a light menu so it is the best of both worlds for us. No dessert for is hit it looks so good.

Have only eaten there once & it was good, but hasn’t called us back. Not sure why, but best I remember, it seemed a bit pricy… I could remember wrong. After reading Unilocal, will probably go back & try the pizza or something else. I do remember that it doesn’t come with salad… like Olive Garden. We missed that and made it seem more expensive so we did without salad. We also missed the bread sticks & got one slice of bread instead. I am not cheap, just practical & frugal.

My family and I went here tonight based on the positive Unilocal reviews. The restaurant seemed clean enough. It was spacious with a nice ambiance. We were seated immediately, and our waiter got our drinks and served it within a reasonable time. I ordered the shrimp diablo as it is one of my favorite dishes. I have had it at another Italian reataurant so a comparison was inevitable. Well, Olivetto’s own version of this dish lacked flavor. The sauce tasted like the store bought brand. The waiter told me it was one of their great tasting dishes but unfortunately, it did not impress me at all. My son ordered the spicy chicken cacciatore. He was looking forward to having a great dinner. Again, the dish ended up disappointing him. My daughter had caliente chicken; she said it was decent. Verdict: while service and ambiance were good, these were not enough to make us comeback for more.

Fantastic food, delicious desserts, nice atmosphere. The calamari was great, the Margherita pizza was perfect, and the tiramisu was devine. Definitely a new favorite!

Atmosphere was decent. Food was good. The staff is very kind! In addition to Italian classics like pizza & pasta, they have a lite menu that I LOVE ordering off of. My family and I will definitely be going back. Update: I have gone three times now and this past time I got food poisoning from their chicken. I most definitely won’t be returning now as I cannot trust their food!

Had to wait a little while to be seated but the pasta was great and cheap(got the $ 8 lunch combo and it filled me up)…paninis were alright. Had a really nice waitress :)

Went tonight. Usually pretty good dining, but tonigh not so. We both had the pasta trio special. The lasagna had tough pasta on the top and the spaghetti and meatballs were obviously nuked or something and flavorless! There are better options out there for Italian food.

This is my Go-to dinner place. It’s Thursday night and we are home cooked OUT. We want yummy low-key home tasty dinner without the«yikes is that the bill!??» Kinda night. Fits our needs every time. We can also load the Fam or friends up and always feel confident that every one will be happy and full. Tonight there was a slight mixup in our order and the folks from the kitchen fixed it up pronto. Love this place.

Delicious. Comparable to Maggiano’s. Cheese ravioli with both cream and marina is wonderful. Bread a bit different but the food is amazing.

Everything here is great! Well everything I have tried in the 3 or 4 visits so far. Laci is the best server, she will take care of you. Try the pepperoni bread appetizer. After 8 pm on Wednesdays pepperoni bread is half price, so are the pizzas. My husband had the Bistro q pizza and it was fantastic! My daughter had the pasta your way with salad that’s a special for $ 8.50 on Wednesday as well. She loved the bowtie pasta with Alfredo and chicken. You choose the pasta, sauce and meat combo. I had the moscato wine, Rigatoni Oliveto and Tiramisu for dessert. It was fabulous! We got great service and tasty food. Had to take some home. Give them a try. I have also tried, the chicken Marsala, chicken Parmesan and crab cakes in the past, they were also great! Just go. Ask for, Laci.

I have eaten in Oliveto’s restaurant for many years. The food is always without exception, outstanding. The presentation, the taste, the quantity per serving, all is very good. I have never had bad service in this restaurant. The waitstaff, the hostess, everybody in this restaurant has always been extremely efficient and very nice and accommodating. On my last visit, one particular waitress Amy who was working the restaurant with possibly only one other person because it was a strange time of the afternoon in between lunch and dinner just delivered outstanding service. Kudos to Oliveto’s restaurant, keep up the good work.

My husband and I recently visited Oliveto for the first time this weekend. Might I first say that we recently moved to Tyler and have definitely had to lower our dining out standards coming from living in Fort Worth, Houston, and Pittsburgh. In any of those places I would not give Oliveto 4 stars, but by Tyler standards a 4 it is. The restaurant has a cute little bistro feel with an ambience great for a casual lunch date or a few drinks with friends. The service was impeccable from the greeting all the way to the farewell. The food was pretty good. My husband ordered the rigatoni and while I was unimpressed and found it bland, he enjoyed it. I ordered the Amore pizza and it was pretty dang good. With a nice crisp, but not too hard crust, and tons of flavor. The portion sizes aren’t grand but pretty reasonable for the price. We will most certainly be going back!

Jalapeño Bacon. ’nuff said. Pizza was awesome, ate the whole thing(snacked on it all afternoon). This is my go-to pizza place in Tyler now. Heard they have lots of other good dishes, too. Too bad, but I’m eating jalapeño bacon pizza. With extra cheese. .and maybe some spicy Italian sausage.

I give Oliveto the Most Improved Award. I started coming here when they first opened a few years back when I was an undergrad at UT Tyler, and it was a good little place close to campus, but for the most part, the food was uninspired and other than the bartenders and a couple of their servers, the service was not that great. I came back this week to visit and speak at the school, and I ended up at Oliveto twice. Everything is much better. I had apps, entrees, and the choco chip cookie with the inventive little milk shots. I would like to be able to upgrade to Bailey’s or Kahlua shots. I will complain about pizza preparation. For the pizzas with lots of different ingredients, sometimes things don’t get spread out. I had the Bistro-Q(good overall), and one slice felt like entirely onions, another was entirely banana peppers. Spread the love. The carafe of house wine is only 13.50, and no bottle costs more than 27. Fairly good, modestly-priced selection. Didn’t try cocktails this time around, but those were good before, so I’m sure they’re still good.
