Very very slow service! They had 4 people working in the kitchen and they were not even busy… alot of empty tables. The enchiladas were cold and had no flavor. I asked for more salsa. The rude guy working the counter gave me a table spoon of sala. I spent $ 10 on cold enchiladas and you are going to only give me a table spoon of salsa! This place is not worth it!

First time here, not too happy with the Nachos Grande, really processed cheese. I was expecting shredded cheese melted, so far this has not been very good. I also ordered a burrito for later, hopefully this will do better than the nachos.

We got her 10mins before closing(Monday at 9pm) but they still took our order and had it to go. Ordered the tacos one of el pastor, carnitas and asada and the Nachos supremos. Much to my surprise they were pretty good! I have lived in Mexico and would eat street tacos all the time, so yes my expecations are high, the Nachos were also very filling and had a huge yummy mess of ingredients on them! Sour cream, guac, salsa, tomatoes, jalapeños beans, cheese and carne asada!!!

Its not the best but not the worst. I love mexican food and this place is near my house but Ive only been twice. Some items are better than other and I think its a little pricey for a Taqueria.

One of the few best taqueria spots around, hands down. Plus, they are the sweetest! Their burrito grande and tacos are great!

Just OK. Not great, not terrible. I ate here because it was close, and that’s probably the only reason to stop in.

I have been going here since I was a child – yes I’m one of those Unilocal reviews! But the food is good, especially the rice and beans. I’m one of their only customers who has asked for a CORN quesadilla, and months later they even changed the menu to include corn quesadillas :) The owners are so nice too! This is my go to and favorite place when I need a quick fix of Mexican food. Definitely go here if you just need a quick fix :)

So far so good, I have had a bit of Dinner and Breakfast menu. Good food, definitely more authentic than anything else around. Carnitas and Carne Asada have been my staple and have hit the spot time and time again be it plate, tacos, burritos etc. Good place to grab grub if near Decoto and Alvarado Niles area.

This place is ok. I like their chile rellenos, but everything else is pretty weak, especially their salsa, it’s lacking spice.

Their super burritos are really good but when you ask for extra salsa they’re always so selfish about it. I asked for 3 more and the cashier only gave me 2. Hmph. Could’ve been 5 stars, but I could’ve also had 3 extra salsas. Ha

My go to at every taqueria are tacos. Usually 3, each one a has a different choice of meat. This time I got carne asada, chorizo and pollo, with the usual cilantro, onions and salsa. The carnes asada was good. The chorizo was ok. Typical stuff. Can’t really mess that up. The chicken was pretty bad. Flavorless. It tasted like boiled chicken. I don’t know if they use another chicken for other menu items, but the chicken used on the tacos was very disappointing.

I tried the menudo soup and it wasn’t that great. Soup was watery and lacked taste. This is the first time I had menudo soup, I’m not sure if it’s the taste of the soup. However you get complimentary tortilla chips like every other Mexican restaurant.

I’m originally from the East Side of San Jose, where you can stand on a corner, throw a rock in any miscellaneous direction, and hit a couple of taquerias. My neighborhood alone had 6 all within walking distance, each of them specializing in something different. When I moved to the Tri-City area about 15 years ago, I was in culture shock… there were no taquerias that I could simply walk to. In fact, I had to go on a full on search for one that was remotely close by. People kept referring me to Super Taqueria… I’m sorry, this is not a taqueria… it is tantamount to Taco Bell when compared to a REAL taqueria. Yes, we had ST in San Jose as well, but it served its purpose just like Taco Bell does, without trying to pretend that it is a REAL taqueria. Luckily for me, I found Los Dos Gallos in a tiny little shopping center across the street from America’s Tires. Silver lining on the flat tire for sure. I still remember what I tried… a burrito of carnitas. Not a super burrito, not a fancy specialty burrito… just a burrito. This is my go to when trying out a new Mexican Food place. It was delicious, the meat was tender and had that great porky flavor without being salty. The crispy bits were crispy, the tender bits were melt in your mouth tender. The rice was soft and fluffy, also very flavorful without being salty or dry. The beans were light for refried beans… a difficult thing to master for sure. Now, this is my go to place. I’ve never been disappointed in anything, and I’ve ordered almost everything off of the menu in the last 15 years… tacos, burritos, breakfast plates, breakfast burritos, nachos, fajitas, specialty plates, etc etc etc. We’ve ordered to go, we’ve eaten in house. It reminds me of the taquerias at home… you’ve got miscellaneous family members working in the kitchen, making(for all intents and purposes) homemade Mexican food. It’s like home away from home for this ESSJ girl. Extra points for the following: Homemade corn tortillas on the weekend Serving off menu items on request Great selection of Jarritos Best Huevos y Chorizo in the East Bay If you want a real taqueria around these parts, you really don’t have any other option. I’m not going to lie, if I’m in SJ visiting fam, I will hit up Lorena’s or Jalisco, but Los Dos is the only taqueria I’ll go to out here.

Our normal spot(Los gallos) was out of Menudo so we decided to try Los Dos Gallos instead. Upside… the football game was on instead of soccer;). Downside… waited ½ hour for food. Which is long time I think for a taqueria and the Menudo was a bit plain. It was descent but nothing to brag about. Would I eat here again? Maybe… but not the Menudo.

You really have to be looking for Los Dos Gallos to find it. It’s tucked in a small plaza and I’ve missed it after eating in this area for so many years. I tried two things: 1. Burrito Enchilado — This is essentially a wet super burrito but unfortunately, there wasn’t enough flavor. I got this with carnitas and it was tender but there wasn’t a lot of it. 2. Nachos Supremo — HUGE platter of nachos for only $ 6.49. The biggest difference is that they use nacho cheese versus shredded cheese. My friend got the salad which almost looked identical to the nachos except there is shredded cheese and some lettuce. They’re pretty generous with all the toppings and it can’t be beat for the price. The place looks small from the outside but there is plenty of seating. Menu is huge so you won’t run out of things to eat.

Took my mom and the kid here for breakfast today because I was really craving chorizo and eggs, and chilaquiles. Unfortunately after eating Anepalco’s version of chilaquiles I think I’m ruined for life, because I felt it was just okay — but the mexican hot chocolate and my mom’s breakfast burrito were pretty tasty. I do love that it feels like someone’s mom or grandma cooking your food — maybe I just need to order differently in the future. The search continues in the Bay Area for amazing chilaquiles.

I’ve been coming here for a few years. I used to come more, but I found some other good spots that I like more if I have the time to go the extra distance. Its not a bad place. I think its a bit expensive for what it is, and the food can be really heavy. They charge for chips and salsa and that seems cheep considering what they charge. There is a mural of some gentlemen participating in some cock fighting, it always amuses me..
