This is my second time eating at toppings and both times, my food was so salty that I can’t even finish my plate. What’s worst is that the waitresses aren’t very attentive so I did not get my water refilled and was left thirsty af. It’s funny cause they had three people working and the shop is fairly small so it’s kind of ridiculous. We had to walk up to the counter to place our order and to ask for a can of Sprite because the waitresses were busy being on their phones.

My parents left for PI this week, so my friend randomly & coincidentally decided we go eat a Filipino restaurant. The service is fast & attentive. Food came out quick. I had the Bangus & Crispy chicken with JAVA rice. Friends had Lechon Kiwali & Pork Tocino. Food is decent, esp for folks attempting to try Filipino cuisine. The fried flavor definitely rings out from the food. My Bangus was a tiny bit over fried, but again, Filipino food thrives off that fried food reputation… Lol. I’m not a Lechon Kiwali fan, but their dish convinced me to eat more than 1 piece, so yes, it was yummy. Wouldn’t eat it everyday though, out of respect to my arteries. HAHA. But all in all, for those who need a Filipino food fix, I’d recommend this spot. I’d come back and try their nilaga and sinigang, those are honestly my all time favorite Filipino dishes anyhow(;

Went here at exactly 11 o’clock when they opened, even gave them a little time to finally get ready to open their restaurant but nope closed! On a Tuesday even! There was no sign or anything just closed. For this kind of business and not to even have a sign that says sorry for any inconvenience is just terrible. The food here is great with decent prices, but not worth my time anymore. Had to be told by a driving customer that they were closed. Really? Bad service.

Toppings too is one of my favorite Filipino place to eat. My husband and I been visiting this place for almost 4 years now. Love the big servings the taste of food the price. I only gave it 4 star instead of 5 coz today I want some fried calamari and tapsi. Since it’s raining I told my hubby that we just give a phone call and order so we don’t need to wait up I called the place to order some food but the phone was just ringing ang ringing no one pick it up I tried like 15 time(NOJOKE) but sadly I guess no one heard the ring. This is my first time to order thru phone and it was not successful anyways now my hubby had to go there still and wait to order.

Good food but they would put 2PLASTIC saucers with the Hot food in the to go container as FILLERS. Also, the food would be contaminated because the styrofoam lid is partially melted when in contact with the hot food. Other than that, this place represent a good Filipino restaurant. Owners, please eradicate these issues, although minor concerns it’s still unsafe and not healthy. Definitely, a quick fix. Salamat.

Decided to finally try this place out, went early for dinner because there is always a line when I’ve tried to go in the past. Was with the hubbs so we played it safe and got the lumpia Shanghai and a couple combo plates. We both chose the NY Steak which was Yummers, sliced thin and well seasoned. It come with a pepper gravy that we asked for on the side. For my second option, I got the pork chop which was two small thin cut pork chops that were slightly sweet & tasty, I picked them up and ate them like pork chips. The hubbs got the crispy chicken which was an entire quarter chicken piece consisting of a leg & thigh, deep fried until the skin blistered to a golden crispy treat. My husband wasn’t a fan of the skin, but I liked it and the chicken meat was moist and good. I would’ve enjoyed my dish more with a veggie, all meat and rice was too much for me, especially since I didn’t care for the type of rice they serve. Hubbs got the Java rice and we were both not sure of that either. This was a first time for a Filipino Restaurant for the hubbs and he did good with no complaints, especially since he was the only non Flip person in the restaurant. As we’re leaving, he did mention next time he’d rather go next door for pizza. It should be noted that the place was busy, by 6pm all the seats in the place were taken with a wait list started. Also, a lot of their business is take out with a constant line of orders being bagged to go. Place is cheap too, appy, two combo plates & a coke came to $ 32. Next time I’ll order al a cart to go and make a pot of rice with veggies at home.

Hubby & i’s new favorite hole in the wall filipino place. Calamari: real big squid, not rubbery, perfect crunch, big serving– maybe good to share for about 4 – 5 people. Combo fried chicken and porkchop– chicken well cooked to the bones, crunchy; porkchop tasty. Very big serving. Comes w/nicely cupped java rice and pickled carrots on the side. Lechon kawali– the best kawali we ever had. Perfect golden brown, not dry, big chunks of goodiness:) Drown me in that gravy! Service was pretty fast when we came. I want to live at this place

This place has good food but never order to-go as they never answer their phones at night. Also there is no place for customers to wait as it is a small establishment and most customers don’t have the common courtesy to move out of the doorway when you’re trying to enter. If you are the management, please relocate to a bigger establishment to accommodate your customers. You have a demand but you’re customer service is declining fast. No answering of the phones, orders are now taking 20 – 25 minutes, and no place to wait without bumping into other people.

Very small restaurant. With that comes quite a downfalls. First off, seating is limited. If tables are full, you will need to wait outside. Secondly, and the biggest, is that there isn’t a restroom. We ate shrimp, so had to wash our hands in the sink that’s probably for the workers. Plus we had children with us, so when they needed to use the restroom, we had to leave and find one. Also, for food, they do run out of items often. When we came, there were at least 3 items we wanted to order, but they were sold out. Came here on a weekend to see my cousin and her kids. They were craving filipino food and recommended this place. The food is your typical filipino food, and taste like homecooking. If I lived in the area, I would probably get food to go since the restaurant is so small. The ladies working there were both very nice and helpful.

When you are in the mood for a home cooked Filipino meal this is the place to go! I feel as though I am eating my Tatay’s food when I am here the only down fall is the service… This place is pretty popular so they run out of things fast, it is rare that you will ever get sisig here because it just goes so fast, but with that being said I have tried almost everything here and they are all pretty good. Not to mention the portions here are rather large so either come here on an empty stomach or be willing to share your food with others. I also recommend bringing your own water, or make sure that you ask for a side of lemon to put in your water, cause you can definitely tell that their water comes straight from the faucet. Be ready to wait about 15 to 30 minutes before being seated, unfortunately this place is tiny and like I said very popular so it is always packed here, and also be ready for some not so great service. They basically take your order and then you never see them again until you leave. I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like every time that I have tried to get their attention for something it was like I was being an inconvenience to them for being there. So if you are up to deal with the service, I promise you the food won’t disappoint.

I have given this place the benefit of a doubt. The food isnt too bad. The price isnt bad either, what makes me give them such a low rating is their service. I think they use the fact that they are the few filipino bbq resteraunts in the area. But that doesnt give them the right to be so rude and they play favoritism to whom they know and dont know. They have a small space so you have to wait a while to be seated. And if you are not a regular they seat their regulars before you, when you were listed first. Also, i dont know if they dont have good ventilation in the building but you always come out smelling like what you ate. In a nut shell, this place is a small whole in a wall resteraunt that has ok food for a decent price with bad and rude customer service. I dont know about anyone else but anyone can make good food and id rather go else where where the people are more friendly and fair. After my experience today i and my family will NEVER support this mom and pop store. MYMONEY will support businesses that respect peoples time and appreciate their business. We waited 30 minutes to have everyone else seated who came in after us because they knew them. Im very disappointed in thier professionalism and business morals.

Don’t get me wrong or be mislead that the food here is not great because of the rating I am giving this Filipino joint. I love the Java rice, Sisig, Pork Tocino, and Beef Sinigang! Some reviews have said the Sinigang soup is not sour enough, but to me, it’s perfect. The portions are always huge and the price is just right! Your food is made to order so you know it’s always fresh! The pinakbet is so so… I’d rather get mine from Goldilocks. Here is the reason why this place is only getting a 1STAR. And after today’s multiple attempts to place an order by phone, I was compelled to take my frustration by giving it a bad review on Unilocal as I sit here in my car now waiting for my food to be ready. BUSINESSOWNER(s) if you care at all about what your patrons think about your Union City location, read the reviews about your terrible business ethics when it comes to answering the phone. Those missed calls are missed sales! There are many other Filipino restaurants within a 2 mile radius competing. It’s just a matter of time before your loyal patrons leave and you are left wondering what happened to your business! YOUREMPLOYEESSUCK!

5 stars for the bomb ass food, period. Affordable & big portions. Boyfriend and I came in for lunch today, we had the BBQ Pork and BBQ Chicken, both with Java rice(DONT forget to ask for extra gravy! Pour it over your rice and omfgggg) and sio mai as our appetizers. BF wasn’t a fan of the sio mai but I thought it was delicious. Loved the servers as well, such sweet Filipino ladies! However there are some cons: it’s a small place with very limited seating. Depending on the time you come, the wait is kinda long. We came in today(Saturday @ noon) and we waited for about 30 mins. They get SUPER busy and crazy in there and there were only 3 servers(more like 2, one was mainly cashiering) today. So some things took a little long, such as waiting to get our order taken and receiving a to-go box BUT the food came out quickly. These cons probably should have knocked it down to 4 stars, but like I said, the food is A1!!!

Delicious Filipino Food. Great quality taste with the freshest ingredients. Definitely like how grandma use to make it delicious. Only con: there so popular that they get busy so fast! Hard to pay when the waitresses are busy as bees! But definitely worth it!

I’m probably the worst Filipino ever, but I don’t enjoy Filipino food as much as I should. So when my family decided to go here for breakfast, I was doubtful and skeptical about how satisfied I would be with my meal. Upon walking in, we were seated right away and the establishment was pretty filled even though they barely just opened. That seemed like a good sign. The menus wasn’t too large and offered a wide variety of Filipino breakfast staples from tocino and loganisa. I opted for a sizzling plate that had bbq sticks. I didn’t want to have loganisa burps throughout the day. The food is amazing. The Java rice is flavorful an the portions are huge. It was probably one of the first times that I enjoyed eating leftover Filipino food. My brother order tocino… And it was the best tocino I’ve ever tasted.

If I had to choose between the South SF city or Union city… I would prefer this Toppings instead. Although space is very limited and the line can somewhat start outside the door, regardless their tapsilog’s and combo’s are one of the best in the area so far. My favorites here are their Crispy Fried Chicken, New York Steak with gravy, Tocina and if your in a diet Inihaw Bangus. As mentioned, since space is limited I high suggest to come early!

If you are looking for authentic and down home filipino food… THISISTHEPLACE. Pros: Ordered the Isda(fish), Tapa(beef) and Crispy chicken plates. Every dish was fantastic and perfectly prepared. Just like Nanay and Tatay used to make. Each plate came with this awesome red rice and pickled carrots. Mmmmmmm. Cons: Place is small and packed so we ordered ours to go. Being small makes it pretty cool to me but I think too cramped for your normal person. Girl that greeted us seemed a little rude but it was really busy and Id guess shes related to the owners so she got the job. BUT the owner made up for it by bringing my food to me at my car. AWESOMEPLACE!!!

It’s been a couple years since I was last here and when I was not Unilocaling. I am glad I came back. I came here with a big group who are newbies to Filipino food and made a reservations for early lunch 11:30a. The place is really small so I recommend to come early when they open or call to see if you can reserve a table especially, if its a large group. There is plenty of parking in their private parking space or on the street. The bathroom is also outside of the restaurant next the parking lot. You would not know this was here unless you are a local to the area. The menu is on the big board on the wall or they still have a menu to look at with the details what’s in it. Prices are pretty decent for the big portions. Before it was a little less. Things have changed. Service was ok and not the most friendly folks(I count the smiles they give you). As long as they served our food in a timely manner, I am good, too. I like so many dishes that I can’t write them all here. I do love their boneless Bangus or Lechon kawali(very Crispy) or their boneless BBQ chicken which are my favorites. You HAVE to try their Java garlic rices! It’s so good here! It good with everything! I will be back as I want to have some of their Halo-Halo now! =}
