The pizza is really good, but the White Pie is GREAT. Seriously, you have to try the white pie. So, so good.

Stopped here in our beach wear straight from a long day at the beach and we had a great dinner(party of 11). Awesome service from Al and his daughter. We had a variety of menu items from sausage pizza, calzone, spaghetti, salads and garlic stix. Everyone had wonderful food straight from the oven. So much leftover from a party of 11 we filled 4 containers. This is a must stop for a relaxed family meal when in the area. I don’t know how the pizza would hold up being carryout but we can vouch that dining in was a fun and great experience.

Four stars? The pizza crust was soggy. Garlic bread was gross. Sauce was not good. I do not recommend it.

Fantastic. Great atmosphere. Had a buddy with me, who grew up in Queens. He said the smell of the place reminded him of the pizza shops in NYC. They’ve been here 12 years. It’s a must stop

What is it about Harbor Country that one can not get a good pizza! Mario’s has one size of pizza: 17″. They have pizza by the slice but it’s based upon what is available. So, although I was hoping for a veggie, I had to settle for a slice of sausage. When it was retrieved from the refrigerator, I asked when it was made: 2 hours ago. It tasted like yesterday’s pizza including soggy dough. Because I am up this weekend to do work on my vacation home and didn’t order anything else I felt in all fairness to give three stars.(I also purchased a slice of cheese pizza but no way). My advice: don’t order pizza by the slice unless you’re desperate and/or like soggy dough.

The owner Al is awesome — straight talking from Brooklyn and he knows his pies. We stopped here but complete happenstance — after shitty service at Brewsters(see profile for that experience), Mario’s was a delight. No frills but awesome pizza — just right amount of sauce/topping/cheese ratio. Plus the antipasto salad was hands down best I’ve had — it even had buffalo mozzarella in it.

SALTSALTANDMORESALT! Sadly a few weeks ago we had our regular pizzas… the sausage was overly salty… no big deal everyone has a bad day… Went back yesterday ordered again our two normal pizzas and the sausage was salty beyond being edible. The owner seemed to not care an get offended when we called. Loyal customers for many years and with the degree of salt coupled with the attitude we will no longer buy there and caution anyone wanting to order their super salty sausage. Hopefully they will get a clue and fix but our last $ 35 spent will be our last– FYI the italian beefs have always been WAYTOO salty and we stopped ordering them a few years back. Seems the staff there have lost their tastebuds and just add salt the the nth degree when in doubt. Sad.

Good food, very generous portions. Whatever you order, get it in half size. I’m a big mammal and was stuffed after a half sized calzone.

Looking for a great slice of pizza? This family owned restaurant is definitely the place to go. Their mini calzones are not-so-mini so bring your empty stomach. The owner is from New Jersey so her East Coast expertise on «good pizza» is definitely the biggest part of Mario’s recipes. One last thing… it’s all in the water!

Had a terrible night after getting a pizza and salad from here, sick beyond belief. Threw out the leftovers as I didn’t want to take any chances.

Great place to stop in for pizza when camping. I’m not a huge fan of thin crust, but I like how this crust was folded. Two of the three kids liked their pizza, but the toppings tended to slide off the thin crust with heavy sauce. And that’s what one on our children had an issue with… the sauce. She didn’t like the flavor or the amount of sauce. I thought it was great. Just a wee bit messy and crust was super thin and fell apart. Definitely a pizza to fold and eat like a sandwich or to cut up. We also got the caesar salad which was fresh, huge, had a great thick dressing and appeared to have homemade crutons. My husband had the veggie calzone. He liked it but didn’t think it was anything special. I had a few bites and liked the crust and the two kinds of cheeses. The sauce on the side was yummy too. The only thing I would have changed is to use fresh mushrooms on the pizza and in the calzone. Service was great. Fast and very friendly! I noticed they had«pizza» magazines so clearly interested in their craft.

love the pizza — the Ave Maria is da bomb! and they make the most amazing subs … #9 is our family favorite but also love the italian beef and the meatball sub! Such nice friendly service — and quick quick quick delivery(especially important with a hungry crew!). Do NOT miss this deliciousness!

We ordered a pizza delivery to our difficult to find cottage. Staff was very pleasant, the delivery man happily brought the pizza in and set it on our kitchen table. The crust is fold it New York style(my husband is Brooklyn born), and very good. My husband and I are not oregano fans which is my only complaint. Otherwise quite tasty!

The best thin crust pizza around! Get ‘em whole or by the slice. Fantastic family-owned place, authentic italian food & personalities! They deliver, too, but we ate in, ordered 3 whole pies, and they were cooked quickly while we played board games. Had a sausage, a pepperoni, and an Ave Maria(delish pizza with fresh garlic, onion, artichoke hearts, Romano cheese & mozzarella). Walk in & the aroma is so good! Menu showed tons of lunch specials with calzones & subs calling me back for more. The ladies working the place we’re genuine, italian, and spoke from the heart about how they make their pizzas from scratch. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Very, very good pizza! A must try if you are in the area! It is a family owned business! Small dining area however we always get it to go. They have AMAZING sandwiches which we normally get to take to the beach because they fill you up! Yummy homemade desserts are also offered!

Mario’s is the real deal. Al is from Jersey, and the restaurant is staffed with family. They know their pizza, meatballs and Alfredo. And the best kept secret? They deliver to the beach! No joke! Order from Mario’s and tell him Heidi sent you.

Whoever said this is the best pizza has obviously never eaten any other pizza. This pizza was awful. Crust was cheap, thin and over cooked. Cheese had a strange taste. Reminded me of St. Louis pizza(yuck). Waste of $ 30 for 2 pizzas. Now I have to go look for dinner…

The pizza at Mario’s is great! The Mario’s Special is about as good as it gets. The calzones are great too!
