BonChon Chicken

I had no idea this was a chain when I ordered a GrubHub delivery… Good thing because had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered and I would have missed this deliciousness!
I don’t generally eat food on bones because of the whole ripping the meat off the bones with my teeth like a savage, but I made an exception to try the twice fried garlic wings. So good! Better than Roosterspin.
Fried kimchi cakes? Yes please! Loved them.
Fast delivery and pretty good prices.

I wish I could review the food here, but I left after sitting for almost 25 minutes and never getting so much as a drink. There was 1 frenzied and extremely overworked waitress who clearly couldn’t keep up with the 4 tables in the place. Whoever does their scheduling should be punished.

Excellent! Ordered takeout (with pickup, not delivery) on a Friday night and it took only 25 minutes for them to prepare. Was very pleased with the large size of each meal and everything was fresh and tasty! I will definitely be going back. Bibimbop with bulgogi was quite flavorful and included a wide variety of vegetables. The onion rings and popcorn chicken were great as well.

This was my very first experience with BonChon. My GF had it at work and wouldn’t stop talking about it for a week straight. We decided to go on a weekend and I was not disappointed. I had the spicy chicken strips, mixed with regular chicken strips. They were amazing. It might appear like some fast food restaurant chain, but it’s far from it. I would recommend this place to anyone that’s curious about it.
I’ll come back here again sometime soon to have another item.

Used to love their food but they can be inconsistent sometimes and rude. Tried to place an order and they told me they don’t deliver to my street after 7pm. It was 7:10 when I called.

We tried this place for dinner this last weekend. Overall, The food is good but service is slow. Love the crispy chicken. Bibimbap is good but not the best. But, hey, this is just a fast food chain kind of place. So the food is over our expectation. Will come back again.

Felt viciously ill after eating here. Food was not good and my husband had the wings said the same thing. Ugh!

This is the second time I have ventured here and yes it’s always pretty quiet. It appears to be very clean and modern furniture. Parking can be difficult at times on the street but there are a few parking lots in the area. My favorite items are the salmon avocado rice ball and bibimap! The tastes are phenomenal and I would come back every time just for these two items. Even though I’m not a big franchise person, I like this place’s food. My boyfriend wants me to mention there is no wifi and that this is the 20^th century! No place should not have wifi. He also believes the music is good and warms you up. For what, I’m not sure. Yummy crispy crunchy fried chicken. Very mediocre bibimbap. Interior is ok. Just basic fast food restaurant. I will only be back for chicken strips.

My first time at Bonchon was on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Realizing later on that this is a franchised establishment, I was worried about the food quality and authenticity. But I was wrong, Bonchon delivered great Korean food!
We ordered their combo of wings/​drumsticks in half/​half (soy garlic & spicy) and to my surprise, they were delicious! The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly — breading on the outside was crispy and crunchy! In my opinion, the soy garlic was the winner. They were more flavorful than the spicy wings.
We also ordered the Takoyaki (octopus balls?) and those were delicious too. The texture of the octopus on the inside with the crunchy exterior was everything you’d hope it’d be. Sauce was an interesting combination but very good! Not sure how authentic these are since this was my first time trying it, but I definitely recommend them!
Lastly, we ordered the Bulgogi. This was my least favorite of the three dishes. The ratio of rice to meat was off (way too much meat and not enough rice). The meat was slightly too salty but seasoned nicely and the veggies were bland. I have to say this was subpar compared to my first Bulgogi dish I’ve had. At the price of almost $ 19, I would not order this again from Bonchon.
Bonchon was ultimately a great find and I highly recommend their wings and drums! I suggest dining in to ensure you get to enjoy your wings fresh and hot :)

I’ve been to plenty of Bön Chon’s but the one in Union may be my new favorite. Best suburban Bön Chon I have been to hands down. The menu has expanded and the offerings are quite good. Very clean and friendly Bön Chon with street parking available. We started with and avocado salmon rice ball to share and it was nicely presented and absolutely delicious. Then on to the reason we came fried chicken. We got spicy drums, garlic soy wings, and chicken strips half and half. The spicy drums rock and were delivered to the table piping hot and really spicy. My Daughters wings were cooked to perfection and the strips that my other Daughter had were spectacular as well. I am definitely coming back and plan to explore more of the new expanded menu. Our server Tina Marie was super friendly and nice. Love this Bön Chon!

To have a Bön Chon in my neighborhood is pretty convenient and dangerous. I used to go all the way to Leonia before all these other Bön Chon franchises popped up all over NJ. It’s much easier to get my Korean fried chicken fix now. This particular franchise actually serves more than fried chicken, as they have the extended menu that includes other Korean dishes like japchae and bibimbap. Other than the chicken, I’ve only had the fried rice so far and it was just okay.
The restaurant is quite spacious and they have plenty of seating available for dining in. But it’s usually pretty empty in here and most people usually get take-​out or delivery it seems. Street parking can be hard to come-​by but there is a parking lot available behind the building, if needed. Call ahead even if you’re dining in since chicken orders usually take about 20 minutes to make.

It’s fried chicken. It’s like fried chicken that’s crispy and no let greasy but not dry. It’s hard to explain but I definitely recommend it. I defiantly see my self going out of the way to go this place specifically. If you like fried chicken with an Asian twist, this is your place ! They were playing new hip hop hits. I found it a little confusing. I just bopped my head in sync with the music.

Do not order anything besides the fried chicken!
Slowest service ever. Tables are not clean and it takes forever to get food. When we asked after waiting 20 minutes we were told it would be another 20. Salmon salad finally came out and salmon was raw. They did not take it off the bill or even offer to cook it.
If you have to get your Korean fried chicken fix, order by phone and pick up. Or if you want the full service, drive to the ones in Boston. The drive time might be faster than the wait at this establishment.
Luckily, their bonchon spicy wings and drumsticks are same quality as the other bonchons. Menu is limited and the other items are not worth ordering. Overpriced and even the rice is dry. What «Asian» place messes up white rice?!

I stopped by because of the reviews. The food was just average. I wanted some really good food to order for take out and thought this place would be a nice change.
I had the wings with soy garlic sauce, and the seasoned french fries. I could barely taste the sauce, but the chicken was fresh. The French fries were well seasoned, but extremely too greasy. The price is a bit on the high side. I was pretty disappointed because i was craving some good food– as per the reviews. Definitely nothing to write home about. I will be passing on this in the future.

Oh. em. gee. This bon chon did NOT disappoint. We got there around opening time on a Sunday (mother’s day) and it was basically empty until another family showed up toward the end of our meal.
This place is clean (the bathroom had a nice little set up with a table, flowers, extra TP and air freshener) and gives you what you came for — bon chon! Wow. Their bon chon is as expected. You always get nervous because you think, «I hope this bon chon breading is as crispy/​flavorful.» Well, I say this place has better bon chon than K Town in the city. The spicy wings were spicier than I’ve had before and the garlic soy didn’t have enough sauce on it… but now I know to ask for extra next time.
We also had the bulgogi bibimbap which was enough for two, especially if you also ordered an XL order of wings. We also ordered seasoned fries which BF suggested tasted like sour cream and onion potatoes. Yum!
This is our new go-​to vs going all the way to the city via train… because who drives in the city?! We WILL be back!

Nice to see a Bonchon in the Area. First time I had Bön was in the cramped Jersey City location. This one does the job if your craving some yummy, crispy non-​greasy fried chicken. Ordered a lunch 2pc. drum and 4 pc. wing and a side of kimchi. Totalled $ 9+. Thats plenty for a lunch. Any more and you’ll pass out at your desk from the itis. haha. I suggest getting the mix flavor, spicy and the sweet are both very tasty.
Clean inside, trendy casual décor, Staff was friendly I would recommend!

Finally BonChon is making its way down Jersey! If you’ve never had Korean fried chicken then this is the place to start. This branch holds up to everything that BonChon stands for; flavorful and crispy chicken.
Had the boneless chicken, half and half. Chicken was on point! Spicy as always; made my mouth water. Soy garlic was delicious as always. Skin was perfectly crisp. Love it.
BonChon also serves other Korean dishes now such as bibimbap and bulgolgi. Both of which are delicious as well. This branch does not disappoint!
Location is clean, spacious and conveniently located. Staff are quick and kind.

I’ve been here a couple of times. The food is just ok and a bit pricey. I really hope the staff got rid of the kinks. The space is too big for what the staff can handle.
Our food took awhile to so come early and not starving.
