This place is delicious! Their barbacoa plate with the papas con chorizo is my favorite. I stumbled upon this little gem one lazy morning when I didn’t feel like dirtying up my kitchen. I’m glad I found it! I’ve brought a few people for breakfast here and so far, everyone’s loved it! Try it out on a weekend and see for yourself.

I had the menudo. Great flavor! Not too hot, really good broth. I like more hominy, and prefer the meat a little less fatty, but otherwise it was good. I’ll be going back.

Went here for the first time this morning while visiting my parents in Universal City. My boyfriend and I saw the reviews and had to try this place out. Lisa’s Taco Hut did not disappoint! There was essentially no wait, and we went at about 9:30am. The drive thru was efficient and fast. I had 2 bean & cheese tacos and my boyfriend had 2 bacon & egg. 4 tacos for basically $ 4? Love it! The tortillas were incredibly fresh and the tacos were well-filled and not«heavy» like a lot of the greasier tacos I’ve had. The beans were smooth but didn’t taste like lard, and my boyfriend had plenty of bacon mixed with he egg! They came with a salsa verde type hot sauce which I was incredibly fond of. Just spicy enough to burn my tongue but not hurt my lips! We were full but not in pain by the time we finished! We will most certainly be back on our next visit!

THE best breakfast tacos around! At 2 for $ 1.50 the price can’t be beat. The staff is friendly and helpful, the drive through is quick, the inside is clean, and the breakfast tacos(especially the chorizo) are exceptional!

i will say the food is very good. my problem are the prices. The drive thru menu will say one price, but when you get to the window its higher. when u say«but the menu board says $ 6.99» they say«well its $ 7.99!» … this has happened to me 3 times with 3 different items on 3 different occasions. … if you are gonna change your prices, thats fine. but put the correct price on the drive thru menu board! The«manager» was called when i refused to pay the increased price. she told me… well i cant just change the price in the register. lol lady… u CAN just manually enter the price if necessary… for that reason alone, i will not go back.

We decided to try their breakfast today although we usually go to the place across the street. I wasn’t crazy about all the gaudy signs and colors on the outside but gave it a go. We both had two bacon and egg tacos. I usually get a ranchero plate with meat but didn’t see much comparable to that. They do have waffles or french toast if you’re not into Mexican breakfasts. The breakfast tacos were ok. We had a choice of diced or strip bacon. The salsa was ok. Thats about all I can say. It was good but nothing special.

Went in to sit down and was amazed! The chips and salsa before the meal were awesome. The chips were homemade and the salsa was very flavorful and spicy. I ordered five breakfast tacos and was very satisfied(I could only finish four). The barbacoa was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this place!

I drive by this place all the time so decided one afternoon to grab lunch there from the drive-thru. I ordered the puffy taco combo plate(chicken). The lady at the drive-thru asked me to pull forward after I paid and that she would bring my food to my car when it was ready. I waited about 7 or 8 minutes until it was brought to me. The food was very visually appealing and smelled great. The puffy tacos were amazing — great flavor and loved the thickness of the puffy tortillas. They were a little too juicy as the juices were soaking the tortilla and making it slightly soggy. The beans and rice were good and the flour tortillas on the side were ok, slightly dry. I’d go back and try other items on their menu. Its not my favorite Mexican place but its pretty good and I’d give it another try.

Went through drive thru pretty quickly. Got chorizo and egg and it’s the best I’ve had so far.

My wife and I came here for breakfast one morning after a traffic jam caused us to take a detour down Pat Booker road. We decided to stop here on a wim and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and our food was out quick. Not only was it quick but it tasted delicious. The carne guisada was great and the tortillas are homemade. We will definitely be back.

Went here for breakfast. Everything was good. Country and eggs with hashbrowns and beans with hand made tortillas. Migas. All were Perfectly seasoned. Even the coffee was good. Green salsa didn’t have much flavor and was hot. Red salsa was very flavorful but was chunky and hard to get out of the syrup pourers. We will be back.

Ordered two carne gisada tacos today — was a first time visit to Lisa’s Taco Hut and ONLY because my favorite place was closed(Acapulco). The tacos were full of fat — more fat than meat. I called to seek a refund or a manager’s voucher and was told no go and that I had to bring back my left overs(I had taken a couple bites out of one) to get two NEW carne gisada tacos… no thank you! I told Norma the manager how I felt about that level of customer service then she hung up on me. Maybe she was having a bad day but needless to say — won’t get my business again.

Was craving a torta today, and I remembered passing this packed establishment with their 2/$ 1.50 tacos. It looked like a fast food place with their signage. I could not be farther from the truth. This is as authentic as Mexican can get. The staff was super friendly and professional, as opposed to what others have said. The language can somehow get crossed; just point at the pretty pictures on the menu lol. They have many daily specials for under $ 5.99, which includes traditional Mexican plates, Lenten fish specials, soups, and fajitas. I got an al pastor torta, which comes with complementary chips and salsa $ 4.99; fries can be added for only $ 1.29. The quality of the ingredients are above average. They give a generous 15% military discount. This is Lisa’s number 2; the original one in Leon Valley. eats: –chips and salsa: the chips were thin and of the flour variety not corn. The salsa was outstanding, well pureed and orange made from I think Arbol peppers, the same peppers in Choulula hot sauce. — al pastor(spit fired pork: think shwarma) torta $ 4.99. The pork was marinated in pineapple and dry rubbed with that same powdered arbol peppers that was in the salsa. It wasn’t spicy, just the perfect blend of flavor. The sandwich weighed about ¾ of a pound and was delicious. You can add guacamole and bacon for 50 cents more. I will try one of their delicious soups next, where you can get small or large bowls. the caldo, menudos, and tortilla soups are made fresh daily.

Recently opened. I’ve been driving by this little place since they opened. My husband I decided to stop by this morning. I ordered a fajita torta with fries and my husband ordered potato and egg taco. He love the freshness in the tortilla. He said you can smell the freshness in the tortilla when u open the taco foil. My torta was super huge. It was deish. Wish they put refried beans on the bottom bread to prevent the meat juices from making my bread soggy and fall apart. Other than that it was soooo good. I still ate the whole sandwich. This is a Mexican food with a 50s diner twist. Very homey inside. The music was typical of a 50s diner. Service was very good. The amount of time my food came was was just right. I would come back and try something else. My kids would love this place. I didn’t visit the restroom so I could not determine that last star. 1 star facilities 1 star service with a smile 1 star food. 1 star overall. Yay! Great job Lisa your place is wonderful.

This restaurant recently opened near Randolph AFB in Universal City. They have kinda weird hours, only open from Breakfast(6am) till 3pm, and offer Military(15%) and Senior discounts(10%.) The complimentary chips & salsa was good; the salsa has a little kick to it and was quite enjoyable. The chips were fresh and crispy. Drinks are served in cans with glasses & ice. Interior was well lit and the wait staff was on the ball and attentive. I tried the Chicken Flautas plate and it was good**, but the crispy Beef taco was PHENOMENAL. I’ll be going back for that taste! ** Comes with rice, beans, sour cream & guac — all of which tasted OK They have a fair amount of variety on the menu — besides Mex/TexMex, they also offer such things as: Steak & shrimp, fish platter, shrimp basket, ham & cheese, BLT, cheeseburgers, and pancakes. Prices were reasonable. Recommended.
