Rudest customer service i have experienced at a teriyaki place. Good food but would never go back due to the pushy mean old lady working there!!! Dont expect to feel welcomed.

Great variety of food, and it’s all so good! The short ribs are amazing, good teriyaki too if you just like your regular olé teriyaki chicken. I love the egg drop soup! And the ladies that always help me are so sweet! Our family loves Hana :)

This has been our regular place to go for teriyaki. Food is good and service is quick. It can get busy especially during lunch. Hard to find a good teriyaki place that gives good portions. Our favorite is the spicy chicken, so good! Haven’t tried other items on menu, but I’m sure they are equally as good as what we always get.

Really good food but customer service… eh. I went there last night. I hadn’t been there in a while. It took five minutes before they even spoke to me. I was never greeted at all. They looked at me several times before speaking. The server would ask couples around me how things were but her tone changed when she spoke to me. It wasn’t so sweet. I love their food. I like that they play Christian music. But they have to treat people better and equally.

I love this place! They are very fast, super friendly and have amazing lunch combo deals. If you want to eat in on a weekday lunch it can be very busy though.

The staff is friendly, restaurant is clean and the food is great, when we want Korean or Teriyaki this is where we come, big portions too.

Service has slowly gone down hill. Terrible service and completely messed up our order. When we called to place our takeout order, the lady cut us off and said to hurry it up because they were very busy. Should have hung up then and there. When we went to pick up the order, we had to wait another 20 minutes and half of the order was incorrect. No apologies, no discount on the food.nothing. Apparently they are so busy they no longer need our business. Very disappointing.

We have been coming here for a couple of years. We have always had great service and good food. They have a little more than the average teriyaki place like bubble tea and sushi. The ladies that work the front are always very welcoming and talk to my kids like friends. It’s good food at a good value. We appreciate that they are closed on Sunday’s and that they play good music that everyone can enjoy.

I always enjoy coming to this place. They are very friendly, try hard to not let«rushes» hold people up any longer than needed and the food is fairly priced. My daughter and I come here on a semi-regular basis and have NEVER been served any food that wasn’t freshly cooked and tasty. If you’ve never been here, don’t be shy. Give them a try and I’m sure you’ll find that it’s one of those places you know is always a «safe bet» when ya just don’t know where to go but more than likely you’ll find that it becomes your first choice for a nice meal with many choices and all reasonably priced. After reading what I’ve written, I feel like I should make it clear that I don’t work here and am nothing more than a customer… I honestly really enjoy this place for the food, but I also enjoy it for the kind and thoughtful staff. Nothing has changed. How do you improve on perfection. Thanks to all the staff that make this more of a home than a business.

Went here for the first time last week. The owners were really nice and their Mongolian beef was really good. The teriyaki was okay but their Mongolian beef will definitely bring me back here.

Was in the mood for teriyaki last night… It was good and didn’t hurt my stomach like most places do with too much salt and msg:). I had the healthier chk teriyaki, salad and no rice so maybe that’s why. Also had an order of egg rolls… Costco rolls cut in half. Servers/owners are SUPER friendly and sweet– the place was slammed and it was 7:30 on a Friday. She said this was slow compared to regular dinner time. The staff seemed to know every customer who came in and called them by name. It’s definitely a good, clean and friendly environment.

Great asian comfort food. Consistent and warm environment. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because their bubble tea. I got it in the morning(which I admit is weird) but they had tapioca that was frozen solid. I had to drink the bubble tea and throw away all the tapioca in the end.

Probably one of the better places in town. We’ve been eating there for a long time and have only been disappointed maybe a couple times. If you repeat somethign enough times there are going to be times that it’s not 100% so I don’t even count those couple times against them… just a blip on the radar. There have been a couple servers over the years that we just love and then there are some we really *don’t* love, but it’s about the food and as long as they can bring me what I want more or less consistently I am a happy camper. I love that they give a cup of soup as an appetizer though it would be nice if it was a cup and not like a spoonful in the bottom part of the cup. Charge an extra 50 cents per meal or something to make up for making it a full bowl because the way it’s done now it just seems cheap. The gyoza is average… decent. We really like the egg drop soup. Sesame chicken is good. Short ribs(beef) are good but a little sweeter than I prefer. The tempura is good BUT(and this is important) the batter has become very thick instead of thin crispy tempura batter. Tempura is one of my favorite things but I have quit ordering it there. We will go back because they are very close to home, consistent, and the food is decent.

They have great food every time we have been there. The prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back again.

I love this place! Great portions with great prices and some of the best teriyaki I have tasted. The bubble tea is pretty rad, too! As for people saying that the service is rude, just remember, if you’re rude, you’re going to get rudeness back. I have yet to encounter a rude employee here and I really do love the environment of this place as well. This place is always clean and always has customers inside which is good to see!

Had the worst experience here. The 2 waitress who worked there were being difficult and rude. I just wanted to order chicken teriyaki with yakisoba

The food here is great and it’s affordable and close by! I have come here many times and would normally give it five stars! This visit however the service was terrible! There were so many people in the restaurant there was barely any room to stand. First off, the lady wouldn’t let us substitute chicken teriyaki for Mongolian beef without a $ 5 extra charge! I finally just ordered the chicken teriyaki with vegetable chow mein. This is the series of events –while ordering the server walked away, did some work, and didn’t say anything to us –she then came back and said«alright are you ready» –she gives us a hard time about substituting rice for the bad salad they serve, but she did it. –me and a buddy sat down at a table to wait for our order –5 minutes later the woman says«can you move? Someone needs to sit here» –we get up and stand by the counter –2 minutes later the woman says«move, I need to get to soup» –we step aside and 2 minutes later she asks us to move again. we do –30 seconds later she turns around and I guess we are still in the way because she rolls her eyes at us –when the food is up she rudely goes«hello?! Your food!» The whole experience was uncomfortable and rude. Beware this place when it’s busy, the wait staff seems to not handle stress very tactfully.

This place probably is a 4 star for me but since University Place has somehow managed to loose a lot of its«good» restaurant in the span of the last 10 years I’d hate to see another one close up! The lunch specials are a great deal @ $ 5.95 which consists of combo plate meal and a canned beverage of your choice. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and Mongolian Beef Combo and both were pretty tasty. The portions are just right and everything is super fresh! I will recommend dining in because I’ve noticed food seems to taste better right out of the kitchen on a plate vs being put in a steamy togo box. If you are looking for a good lunch spot in U.P. then please be sure to check this place out!

Bottom Line: inexpensive, solid teriyaki with attentive service in a clean, bright space. Punch card alert! Buy 10 meals, get one free. To be clear, I rank things«like against like». For fast food, Happy Hana is nothing unusual but it’s solid. It’s inexpensive, has a decent variety, the kids like it and is totally reliable when you need a quick lunch. There’s a lot to be said about that holy combo of cheap, consistent and clean! The owners here are friendly and smart. The lunch menu is almost entirely $ 6 combos and cover the usual territory, teriyaki with katsu, gyoza, yakisoba, etc. The portions are generous. Speaking of generous, if you’re a pop freak like me — you’ll appreciate the aggressive way Happy Hana refills your soda. Taste wise: The chicken is good, but I would stay away from the beef teriyaki — it had the look and texture of having been boiled. The egg rolls are your typical, cheap egg rolls. All the fried food is fine — the gyoza and katsu were good, the tempura suffered from over thick batter(but was on par with most teriyaki joints). My daughter loved the yakisoba(her«go to» meal at these types of joints). Worth noting to families or big groups: the Hana Platters( ). There are about 4 different combos — each platter has about six items and cost about $ 22. They advertise that it’s enough food for 2, but this would easily feed 4 medium appetites. A nice price with some variety. In closing — you can get your basic bubble tea fix here, but be aware the flavor choices are limited and they don’t have jellies or custard.
