I normally don’t have Peruvian but will certainly return when in Claremont! Like: Tallarin Verde con Bistec Lomo Saltado(plate) Chicharron Sandwich Tacu Tacu Service — Crystal was very friendly, inviting, & cordial! Wish: They expand across the IE!

This is one of my favorite places on earth to eat at! I get dinner to go from here about once a week! The lomo saltado is so flavorful and delicious I just can’t get enough of it! The meat is so tender and juicy. The tomatoes are always cooked perfectly. Chaufa de pollo is another one of our favorite dishes here. So much flavor and such a big portion! Don’t forget to get some extra green salsa! Spicy and fresh, it compliments everything! Of course I always must get my plantains! Cooked to perfection every time! Love love love this family run restaurant! My tummy literally growls when I smell my order on the way home from picking up my to go food! I can’t even wait to start the car before having a plantain! :) :)

Rice was greasy in the chicken fried rice. Food took forever. Table of four after us got food quicker. Sauce is spicy.

If your looking for something a little different, give this place a try. Get the favorite Lomo Saltado(Beef with French fries). Small place but, usually there is not a wait.

This place was amazing. Enjoyed everything about it. The food was delicious and the feel of the restaurant was enjoyable. Not much curb appeal but that’s definitely not the selling point here. The friendliness of the staff was also great. They will gladly tell you about the food and drinks of Peru. Really a great dining and learning experience for my kids and I.

Loved this place — it’s a small family run restaurant — very friendly and helpful staff. We stopped by for lunch, had a delicious Loma Saltado between 2 of us and a Causa de pollo. Great food served with fresh warm bread, really enjoyed it, will be back for sure — lunch for 2 — $ 20.00 — yes!!!

My advice if you go there: try the tacu tacu! I’m not a Peruvian food specialist, so I can’t tell how authentic this is, but the taste was incredible and unique. The wait to pay at the end was too long, though. The 5 stars are well deserved anyway.

While my experience prompts a soft four stars, I didn’t find anything 5 starable. The food was good(although I didn’t bother to take a doggie bag for my leftover steak and rice/I ate about a third of each, meat was fine enough, the rice didn’t seem fresh… very unusual for me to allow such waste but I had no desire to eat these later). Server was friendly but seemed a bit nervous and maybe new. Very small establishment and atmosphere felt kind of like a fast food location. It was disappointing to find that they serve empanadas infrequently, and therefore have crossed them off the menu. I would have planned on taking some home to try later, I love empanadas. The plantains were the highlight of the meal, deliciously prepared. I will not be returning, but I was satisfied with my meal. I did give four stars because I can imagine that If was really craving Peruvian food(or just some great Plantains) on a regular basis, and this location was convenient for me, I would probably go back from time to time.

This little hole-in-the-wall place is not somewhere I’d normally venture into even if I stumbled upon it… I saw it had good reviews here on Unilocal. My husband and I have had Peruvian food once before that we loved so we tried it out and it was DELICIOUS!!! Their pork and sweet potato sandwich was delicious(and huge)! I also ordered a side of plantains that was more like an appetizer size(note for future reference). My husband ordered the chicken & rice with scrambled egg and he loved it! The green hot sauce is AMAZING!!! The owners were SO friendly and helpful! Especially when it came to helping us place our order(since we could not pronounce anything on the menu — we are NOT yet Peruvian pros). This is a small local family owned business with truly AUTHENTIC food!!! Give it a try… you’ll be surprised!

Thank you Unilocalers for guiding me to this place. In a strip mall, curb appeal not the greatest but wow! amazing food. I tried the Lomo Saltado and quite honestly I wasn’t expecting anything like it. The meat was so juicy, tender and delicious, with a pilaf of rice and ají sauce. I will need to come back. Staff friendly and professional, and they are indeed Peruvian. Very nice, thank you again I will be back.

Hole in the wall place sure will surprise with limited selection, tiny kitchen, but nice food. The Lomo Saltado was delicious and that great Alfajores topped it. Can’t miss this place and I’ll be back.

Buen provecho.

I live in Las Vegas, but I will definitely be back here anytime I’m in the area. As a Peruvian, I can attest to the authentic flavors, aromas, and hospitality of this establishment. The food was absolutely spot on. Direct quotes from my papa and tío, who were raised in Peru for most of their childhood, include«it reminds me of home» when referring to the Lomo Saltado and«that is Peru, right there, referring to the huacatay sauce. There’s a secret menu with customizable substitutions for vegetarians, possible allergens, or even personal taste. You can’t go wrong with Lomo, Causa de Pollo, ceviche de pescado, or yuca frita… but they even have an outstanding Pollo a la brasa with a unique smokiness that enhances the flavor of this Peruvian rotisserie dish. I’m amazed by this family’s ability to produce so many quality menu items, and that’s not including the secret menu with catapulca, aji de gallina, and seco that’s simmered all day for a superior flavor. I hope this family business gets the recognition they deserve. Hardworking, friendly, and honest. Bring everybody you know! You won’t be disappointed. PS: you can take the huacatay sauce home! Well worth it, and I promise you’ve never had huacatay like this.

Great, authentic Peruvian cuisine. Though the menu may seem limited, there are usually additional options available like special entrees and soups. Slightly higher $ than usual for a casual restaurant but the quality of the food offsets that, hands down. They’re reworking the menu so check in to check out the new offers. Note: Peruvian Ceviche is the Taylor Swift of seafood. Low in fat but still somehow the best thing eveeer, even though you’ll never admit it to friends. Shhhhh!

I have driven by Domi’s for weeks now, and as much as I like to think of myself as a true Foodie having tried many different cuisines, I’ve never actually had Peruvian food(well, at least to my knowledge or within my very limited memory span these days). I pulled over, checked Unilocal for the good reviews, and decided to stop in for some«to-go» for dinner. The first thing I noticed was the nice family atmosphere, how well kept it was(it’s a small little family restaurant — nothing flashy or fancy, but nicely kept), and how extremely friendly and welcoming they were. When I went to the counter, the nice young girl who works there(the daughter of the owner(?) was SUPER friendly and welcoming and asked if I had ever been there before, we chatted a bit, and she was observant enough to see that this blond hair, light-skinned Gringo probably didn’t have a ton of experience eating SPICY Peruvian food, but was polite enough to offer me suggestions and tell me subtly to be careful with the spicy stuff and WHOOBOY, was I glad she did. The spicy green sauce that everyone raves about? It’s DELICIOUS, but it’s like FIREYHOT. AKA — too hot for novice Gringo beginners. She scoped me out well. lol I got the Chicharron sandwich and I’m telling you right now: for someone who doesn’t go crazy over pork, this sandwich tasted like it was delivered straight from Heaven from the hands of St. Bacon. It was absolutely ROCKIN! First of all, the portion? HUGE. The bread? Crusty on the outside, soft on the inside. They use FRESH bread, for sure. The pork was juicy and FULL of flavor, and the salsa criolla was super-spicy and tangy. The sweet potato was almost like a little dessert cake in there. The whole thing just makes for one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. SUPER-yummy! And at $ 6.50(I think? It may have been $ 8.50, but I’m pretty sure it was $ 6.50), it’s a STEAL for your money. If you eat like me, that’s TWOMEALS in one sandwich. Crazy good food for a crazy good deal. If you see Domi’s, don’t drive by — drive IN. Stop, get something delicious. You’ll thank me and all the other Unilocalers who agree!

Fantastic service, music and food. I had the chicharron pork sandwich with sweet potato and grilled onions. OMGoodness it’s great. Wife had Loni saltado(beef, rice, grilled onions and French fries) and was also very good. The plantains stoke the show as they were fresh & fried warm, sweet goodness.

I’ve had Domi’s bookmarked forever and finally tried it over the weekend with my husband. If you’ve never had Peruvian food before… let me let you. it does not resemble Mexican food at all and it’s not like Cuban cuisine either. You can’t really compare it. Peru has many original staple dishes that it is famous for. Remember Andrew Zimmern(Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods) eating roasted Guinea Pig in Lima? There aren’t any Peruvian places around(at least by our house and my work) so it’s a rare treat to find a family owned place. BACKGROUND: The cuisine developed from a mixture of influences from the Inca with cuisines brought in with immigrants from Europe(Spanish, Italian, German), Asia(Chinese) and West Africa. With that in mind, they had to use local Peruvian ingredients. Even within Peru, they have various regions and a variety of local cuisine. On their menu, you can find items like Spaghetti with Basil Pesto, Fried Rice, and Empanadas! LOCATION: We arrived right when they opened at 10AM. The restaurant itself is a little tricky to find, but it’s right by the Coco’s restaurant on the east side of the plaza. We were immediately greeted by an older gentleman and he was so friendly and eager to describe every dish on the menu since we told him it was our first time there. FOOD: Since this was our«brunch» my husband ordered the Bistec A Lo Pobre(steak with fried eggs, rice and plantains) and I ordered one of the more popular dishes, Lomo Saltado(beef sautéed with red onions, tomatoes served with French Fries and rice). You can see the kitchen from the dining area and the lady cooking the food. Our meals came out pretty fast and they give you a bottle of Aji Verde(green salsa) which is a spicy sauce that has tomatoes, cilantro, aji pepper, onions and water. Wow, so delicious with plenty of flavor! They told us they just hit their 15 month anniversary. Wow, with that kind of hospitality and great food, you’d think they’ve been here forever. They also make you feel welcome and at home here. So many things to try… so little time. Definitely be back again. Can’t wait to try one of their sandwiches next time. 6⁄100 Reviews for 2015
