Food was cold and they took forever to take my order. Mind you, it was not busy at all. I was the on one there. Aside from being cold, it wasn’t that tasty. I make better tasting Asada at home. The younger(although in her late 30’s) of the girls is rude AF also, the gossip was better than helping the customer. Then, WTF? Working at a taco stand and sporting clothes like she was going to a club? Now we know where the money for quality ingredients go. Looks like she just likes the little money generated from the taco shop and splurges it on herself. My tip for the owner: Get a person who knows how to cook and train your cashiers on Customer Service.

Super divey place with counter seating and table seating. It is next to a liquor store that has people hanging out in front. But if you like home made Mexican food this is the place and all the diveyness disappears. The food is made or re-heated to order. My favorite was the asada that has great flavor and watch out for their red hot salsa. It is very flavorful but in the end it will bite(in a good way). I’ve only been here once but I am coming back to try their tortas and burritos for sure. They change $ 1 for using your credit card…

Was so sad when the one on Foothill closed! The one on Grove is in a little scruffier area but the food still rocks! Some of the best Red hot sauce you will ever have in your life. Ever been somewhere that the meat was good but the sauce was lacking or vice versa? Not here, they are family owned and run and take pride in the food they serve you! I love the Carne Asada Burritos here, the tacos and taquitos are very good as well. They serve cold Beer and the food is awesome, what are you waiting for?

I’m convinced that this is a one hitter quitter. The food was great the first time but every time after that it was very bland. There is no consistency in the flavor of the food or the portions. You get lucky if you get the right person to make your food.

I would not recommend new comer to try this restaurant. I decided to give it a try one day afterwork(restaurant is on my way home never noticed it until recently), I ordered carne asada burrito, it has no favor at all, if I didn’t order it, I would not know what meat I was eating, meat is very clumsy almost like mince beef not very well when wrapped in tortilla. I hardly find any meat in my burrito. I ended up starving later that night. I am glad I did not get diarrhea, but definately won’t go back.

I came here because reviews were good and im sadly disappointed! I was craving a carne asada burrito and got a rice bean little yucky hardly no meat burrito. :(damn it! I have to say their red chile is DA bomb!!! But damn it… mexicanize that food people! I wont be coming back. Just too many other good places shoot even del taco has more meat in their burritos! So disappointed i wanted to like the place because its close to work! Ugh! Beans werent refried either and very little too! Juan pollo looks great too compared to this… darn i hate giving bad reviews but a foodie has to tell the truth!

I came here because the Unilocal reviews were pretty good and it’s less than 2mi from where I work. First off we should start with the location itself. If I was driving past it I would have kept driving. It’s not the freshest looking location. When you walk it it looks a little run down. The dining area is separate from the ordering area. Its pretty run down. Something very hole in the wall. It didn’t look like the cleanest place to sit down and have a meal so we opted to order to go. They have a very small simple menu. My boyfriend being the creature of habit he is ordered the carne asada burrito hold the beans and I got a chicken quesadilla. The service was very quick. The burrito was average. Nothing to write home about. It was mostly rice though which was kind of disappointing. The meat was seasoned well but very scarce. The rice was your traditional rice with a hint of lime. The chicken quesadilla was your average. Tortilla, meat and cheese. The did have some onions and cilantro which added some good flavor. My main complaint would be the meat. I mean I love moist chicken but this was pretty wet. It was dark meat after all but it was a little over the top on the moist part. Overall the food was ok. It was about $ 13 for two items. Would I go out of my way to come here again? Probably not.

Carne asada Torta was bomb. A lot of good talk about this place so I decided to try it out well worth it. I’m a man who loves Carne asada and this place did an amazing job with theirs. It was marinated perfectly not dried out like most.

Came here about three months ago, after having a carne asada burrito I knew I would be returning. The first time I visited this location was during the summer. The burrito was great, I picked a pretty HOT sauce(what to most is mild to me was HOT) turns out the burrito wasn’t the only thing that was HOT… The temperature of the establishment was HOT as well, Seems very uncomfortable to eat a HOT burrito in a hot environment. My recommendation is to try the food in the comfort of nice fall Upland weather than in the summer or in the comfort of your home. The food or the burritos for the most part is worth to stop buy and take out if the dine in temperature is uncomfortable. The staff was friendly, and for $ 5 the burritos seems like a good deal. I would’ve given this place 5 stars, but the fact that there’s no A/C on hot days its a killer to eat in the heat.

Delicious, I love the chicken tacos with all the fixings and my boyfriend LOVES the carne asada burritos. A little on the older side, but the food is worth it!

Good food can make up for alot. Like a sorta clean kitchen and just OK service. But the torta is great. More authentic food than most«Mexican Food» joints around. Good prices and portable grub so you can enjoy in your own clean environment. I always feel welcome here, but think that they sometimes forget they are running a business. Yelling at top volume across the kitchen at the guy in the office is not the way to inspire a friendly peaceful environment. Still, the food is great. If they tried a little harder, they could have something very special here.

Rubens taco is very bland and a typical upland mexican place. The meat had alot of fat and was very chewy. The bean are served whole in thier burritos and have absolutely zero salt. They charge 1.50 to use your atm card and the cashier didnt speak any english. I will never return!!!

When i am «Jonesing» for some down and dirty street tacos, this is where i go. I actully prefer the one on foothill in Rancho Cucamonga. I always order the carne asada tacos with avocado. You sit at the counter and can watch everything that they make and i always want to try the quesadillas, tortas, sopes, etc. but i know how good the tacos are and i can’t bring myself to order anything else(plus Molly and Tony at bootcamp say tacos are A OK when you are watching your calories… shhh don’t tell them about the chips i eat). Mexican is all about the hot sauce and they have 3 kinds. I love the killer red hot chili… so hot it burns your mouth but you can’t stop eating it. The green sauce is killer too. Crud i haven’t had dinner and this review is making my mouth water. This place would get 5 stars but it’s not the cleanest, neatest place i have eaten, but being able to see them make the food satisfies my cleanliness paranoia.

And 5 more stars added to that! Went went here after skiing at Mt Baldy all day. If you think King Taco has the best carne asada, then you really need to try this place! I am 100% percent certain that once you try their burritos and hot sauce, you may just know what I mean. The meat was tender and juicy with the right amount if saltiness filled with rice and beans… Sooo sooo delicious! Ruben’s tacos is nestled in a tiny shopping center in upland. I can eat here again and again!
