I was in today to buy dinner. While inside, a person who looked down on his luck bought a couple of tacos. He then asked the cashier if it would be alright if he stayed inside to eat(it out was 112 degrees outside and the small dining area was nice and cool). As the cashier showed him where the dining area was, telling him he could indeed stay inside, the man cried. Their tacos are great, and their staff are kind. I recommend giving this place a try.

I went in and placed an order for 1 single Tamale and 2 Tamale Plates(1 chicken tamale and 1 soft taco, beans rice and cheese) they call it, one and one. A gentleman walked and said you got my order wrong. She went to the back, gave him another bag, he checked the bag and once again showed her the receipt and said this is what I asked and paid for. The worker once again went in the back and came back out he checked the bag looked at her and said«nevermind» and walked out. I kinda giggled to myself. She called my order, Number 7. I received a little bag and thought to myself, no way two Tamale Plates are in this bag. Sure enough it was two Tamales and side order of beans and rice. I said I asked for the one and one where’s the taco and I paid for two of the same order. she apologized and went to the back. Came back with two bags and said there are no to go boxes. I got home and sure enough just as the guy before me, my order was wrong! I called to tell them they got my order wrong and she yelled at me and said YOUORDEREDTWOTAMALES! I yelled back I KNOWWHAT I ORDERED! She hung up on me. Yes she did! Ok this is my honest opinion about the taste of the tamales… WHEREISTHECHICKEN!!! THISISNOTHINGBUTCORNMEAL! GODASMYWITNESS! From the outside this place looks like it’s been around for at least half a century. I will say that the indie looks great, they just remodeled it. They seem to keep the inside clean, the restroom didn’t have any hand towels when I used it but at least the restroom was clean. The food is just ok. It’s nothing to brag home about. Tacos are only $ 1.45 which is a good price and the rest of the food is also decently priced for a Mexican spot. The one thing hat really doesn’t allow me to give this place more than 3 stars is the customer service. The girl at the register looks like she hates her job, and you would think with the restaurant that tiny that they would take you your food when you dine in but they don’t. I would def eat here myself again but I don’t think it’s really the place I would recommend to all of my acquaintances.

Good service for carry-out, I ordered lengua and Asada taco’s also some red chili pork tamales for later. The lengua had absolutely no flavor(my fav meat, so I was sad and disappointed) but the Asada had some great flavor, seasonings, texture and aroma yumm! They opened up a larger portion of the little corner hole in the wall and have some nice indoor seating area for about 50 people tips if even that, but it is a nice option that didn’t exist 3 months ago. Will review the tamales again later when I have them for breakfast,

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The owner, Julissa, insists that she does not make mistakes on the orders. Her daughter is rude and should stay in her place. The customer is not always right. I would not not recommend this place.

Not impressed. The masa had a strong salt flavor, but not too bad. The pork tamales were $ 18 per dozen, and they contained very little meat. Having made authentic home made tamales countless times myself, I’m a firm believer that the meat flavor and portion of meat per tamale makes all the difference. Very little meat in these and very little taste in the meat. I will be going back to try some tacos, but so far… not very good.

It’s close to home and I was craving tamales… So we went. The service and staff were great. We ordered a dozen mixed tamales. The cheese&chili were tasteless. The pork was very salty and had less than a teaspoon of meat in it. The chicken was tasty and had a bit more meat than the pork. The sweet corn and pineapple was great… So one star each for the chicken and the sweet corn. My advice, stay home.

This place is so good! Don’t let the location fool you, these people take pride in making some incredible authentic mexican food. I passed right by a few times without a second thought. A co worker brought some food from here one day and it smelled so good I had to check it out, I’m so glad I did. Some of the best tamales ive had, top notch asada & carnitas. I really thought it was juat a tamale place, turned out to be so much more. Great prices, very friendly people. Can’t say enough good about this place, they recently expanded the restaurant so it’s much more inviting and comfortable inside now.

Absolutely love this place. Walking distance from my apartments. Open from 9 – 9 daily. You cannot beat their prices for their food. It’s extremely affordable! I usually order the same thing every single time I go here. The ingredients are extremely fresh. It’s a family owned business so be aware that they might cheap out on giving you extra salsa and whatnot. The owner is extremely nice as well. The Jamaica is amazing taste very home made. Asada nachos and tamales are my go to here. They also serve pazole daily, and menudo Saturday and Sunday only. Also Try their chimichanga!

One of the best tripas burritos I’ve had in a while but not enough tripas for the price paid.

My hubby and I were in the mood for tacos so we decided to give this place a try. We were very pleased at how clean the place was! And the food was delicious. So we Definitely will be coming back.

We tried this place for the first time today and it was o.k. The tacos were a little bland, but all around the food was not terrible. The price was reasonable, though the tacos were a little small. We only had their shredded beef taco and the red pork and green chili and cheese tamales, so I’m open to trying other menu items before I write this place off entirely. It fed me, it wasn’t terrible. Decide for yourself.

The food here is amazing. I got me a burrito from here that was so good, and i got my co worker some tacos and she said that it was good as well. I think the prices are little to high, but the food is worth it. The only reason i gave it 3 out of 5 stars, the customer service here sucks. Every time i asked her a question she had an attitude with me and she was on her phone watching videos instead making eye contact with me. I won’t be back due to customer service.

Very very good. You can tell the owners are passionate about their food. My favorites include the asada nachos and the burritos. Oh, and try the champurrado!

A while back this was a BBQ joint. The tamales were good and moist. I only had wait a couple of minutes for my order.

Today at about 2:00pm I arrived at this establishment. The young girl behind the counter did not lift her eyes off her phone, just sat there on her phone, so I began to say my order. At the end of my order(when I stop ordering) she says«is that it?»(with attitude). She was not only rude to me but other customers(a person that asked for salsa and the person behind who began to order). It’s amazing that they are running a business and hiring people that don’t have a clue of what is customer service. I never heard her greet another customer, thank anyone for coming or show any signs of courtesy. I will inform all my friends, family and business partners NOT to visit or cater. Additionally I will ask people to spread the word. The owner(an older lady who is usually at the counter) is also not the most pleasant but plays the part. The cooks and people from the back that come to hand the food are REALLY nice. In closing I would like say, they got my order wrong!(probably because the fur behind the counter entered it wrong). I give it two starts because the food was tasty.

The soft tacos are tasty, the hard shell tacos are ok, the shells weren’t that hot and the shredded beef needed a little more flavor. The rice and beans were great, as well as the picante chili. Good quick service. Nice place for a quick meal.

WARNING! DONOTEATHERE! Minus(–5 stars). This place is horrific! Spent $ 50 and the food was super bad. The tamales were just dough and a dash of meat and very dry? — see pic. Got ripped $ 1.50 ea. The Pozole was water and the tiny bits of pork meat were boiled(no flavor). Yuk! The tostadas offered with the Pozole was dripping oil. This place was dirty and needs to be inspected by Public Health-will be filling a report with them. DON’T EATHEREYOUWILLBESORRY! My stomach started aching after sampling this food. I don’t understand how this place got 3 stars… that’s bull! Anyone rating this place higher than 1 star has to be friends of the owner. He just replied to my message without apologizing or offering up a refund but instead offering up excuses of why this place is so bad… STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE. CUSTOMERSERVICEISEXTREMELYBAD! We were craving homemade tamales and tried this place. Actually, was really surprised at how good they were! Definitely the green chili and cheese were the best! Moist, tasty. decent size too! The pork ones were a bit dry but OK. 100% recommend the green chili and cheese!!!

Great prices for the amount of food you actually end up getting, and the quality of the food is up there as well, if you’re looking for something quick for you and a date this is a good spot. Definitely not a family restaurant though. I wouldn’t suggest bringing toddlers. Downside, not a lot of seating area but it balances out once you bite into a taco. All in all I would definitely eat here again.
