Amazing! Try the peeled shrimp with the full house sauce. If you like garlic it will be the best thing you will ever eat. Their mild is closer to a medium so be careful.

I did not want to post any stars for this place but it wouldn’t let me post my review… Rudest service ever! Over priced! Walked in and there were empty and the two ladies deliberated for about 5 minutes on where to sit my party of 3. We just walked out.

Fresh shrimp, «hot» was a bit mild but tasty. Not over powered by garlic. Server was very sweet and happy to have us try the restaurant for the first time. Onion rings were nothing fancy, but good. Will definitely be back.

The waitress was very nice. The place looks clean, and sanitary. The food was good, but not delicious. I felt like it needed more sauce. The garlic slices were a bit too big. The restaurant is small as well.

Came here again and it was just as delicious! Definitely the spot to be when you’re craving cajun. Corn, sausage, shrimp and fries are a yummy combination. Good for groups of friends and a fun date. Hope you like getting your hands dirty!

Been coming here since they first opened, they had me at hello, the food is great, the atmosphere is nice, the people are so friendly, we have tried all those other places, boiling crab, the big catch etc. Yet star crab has far exceeded all the rest and still remains number 1 in our book. Having been to new Orleans and tasted the wonderful food, i have to admit star crab I is equivalent to some of the food we had out there. I will give star crab 5 stars cause everybody I bring with me to this place is amazed on how good it is and how they are goin to change their boil places to this one. no need reading the negative comment below. you won’t be disappointed here…

Went on a Friday night, very surprised it was empty. ordered 3 pounds of shrimp. Too much garlic and small shrimp-BC or even boiling crawfish on Euclid is bigger. With so many good reviews I will try once more and leave new update.

First visit here after trying a couple other BC type locations and this one by far was my favorite! Excellent customer service, appeared to be a very small family owned and operated. Ordered A few bags of shrimp, very reasonably priced, and flavor was amazing. I recommend the«Full House» Hot flavor!!! Excellent Fried and Calamari as well. Service was also very excellent and felt very welcomed and appreciated. Will definitely be back soon!

«Fried shrimp, …boiled shrimp, …shrimp kabobs, …shrimp and grits, …shrimp in a cup… shrimp in a can…» I’m prompted to discern that perhaps Bubba Gump was on to something. ^ ^ Need I even divulge on the plethora of places popping up at the blink of an eye, on virtually EVERY corner — all professing to have stumbled upon some type of newfound Cajun and Creole recipe(s) that would readily rival those served within the French Quarter??? Star Crab, ladies and gents — is NO exception and with reviews alleging it to be «Boiling Crab — reminiscent», my sister, whose celebrating her birthday today, obtained a reservation for a party of 10 this past Saturday evening(unlike B/C, this place honors them), in turn, requiring us to make our way out to the good olé’ I.E. What I can provide credence to, is Star Crab being on the«petite» side. Think… a large Starbux’ OR a Manhattan, NY apartment…, and while customer service was spot on not to mention the prices being right($ 1 – 2.00 less than Boiling Crab’s menu), I can’t state the same for the food. * Having occupied most of my childhood in New Orleans if not Mississippi, I’m honestly becoming sick to the stomach of all of these«crustacean in a bag joints» and while I recognize Boiling Crab to have«sharpened their pencils» and/or perfected their craft, lines at times stemming to upwards of 2 and 3 hours for a simple«seafood experience», I consider Star Crab to be somewhat of a nice addition for Upland but, nonetheless a blatant and inferior imitation. Located on Foothill and Grove, this place is relatively arduous to find as it occupies premises within a strip mall and while signage is notable from Foothill/Route 66 when traveling east —- it’s comparable to locating«Waldo» from any other direction. Note: Star Crab place sits directly affront Esther’s Tacos within the SAME strip mall location as Margarita Rocks, tucked away within the corner(formerly a gay club, called Oasis) — NOT the strip mall across the street, occupied by Wal Mart). Bestowing everything from fried and boiled shrimp down to clams and crab legs and/or gumbo soup(wtf is that) as well as okra — — – we were made further aware that catfish has been discontinued from their menu and substituted by tilapia(apparently it wasn’t as good a seller). Despite the tilapia being small in portion and overcooked, the savor of various other items was sufficient… BUT inadequate and still managed to leave quite a lot to be desired. Frankly(and this may sound a bit harsh), I wouldn’t travel here with high expectations let alone seeking to compare food to any other joints offering an equivalence in cuisine —— it’s become discernible to me that despite the recent up-rise in eateries bestowing similar commodities, UNFORTUNATELY, there is simply no substitute for an original. Would I visit again? Likely, no. We’re rarely in this area as is, and can’t state that I was all that astonished by anything that I bit into. My recommendation however, is those visiting pop a couple of Tums in advance AND order a beer with a side of rice upon arriving. * It’s been 2 days since I/we dined here and I’ve felt a «rumble in the jungle» ever since departing. FINALLY a «BC» alike place came to Upland! I’m so happy I can cry. This isn’t the only location that is under the name of Star Crab, there is also two other places, but I’ve only been to the one in Rancho. This restaurant is so much smaller compared to the location in rancho but I’m not complaining, it’s so close to my house :’) I really recommend people who like BC to try this place because«full house» sauce is soo good! Since I’ve been to the Rancho’s location and already tried a few things… I decided to stay away from their cajun fries and wings… for now. With my two friends, we ordered the family deal for 33 $~ which came with 3 lbs. of our choice(shrimp, mussels, clams, etc.), corn, potatoes, and sausages. With three people, we were so full with ¾ of the bag finished. And we were definitely not weak eaters;) My friends and I agreed that this place is as good as can get and definitely will be regulars. The only thing I disliked about this place was how small it is…. Just hope no one discovers this place D: Just kidding ;D

This is a about a 4.5 star affair. The STAFF are friendly and accommodating. The AMBIANCE maintains the former sushi restaurant appearance. We ordered a variety of scallops, shrimp, sausage, corn, clams etc. in a bag with GARLICBUTTER sauce and it came out perfectly cooked. The scallops were tender and delicious. NO dry meat to be found here. Very nice eating. This was my first sniff of these types of places that have become popular in the last few years. But it makes me want to keep on «sniffing in»…

Wow this is the first Boiling crab wannabe place that out Boiling crab the original Boiling crab. My friend from out of town wants to try Boiling crab but the one I normally go to is a bit too far away, so I tricked her to go here. Found it from Unilocal and hoop that it could come close to the taste of Boiling crab. I was surprise that food itself seem to be better, and the people that work here are really nice. Ordered one pound shrimp each plus a fries on the side, it was good enough for dinner. Also they got few large size screens with sports that another plus for me. If you live in the IE and wants Boiling crab, you can skin the drive and come here.

This place is AMAZING!!! if you are a fan of the Boiling Crab you“‘ll definitely switch over after eating here. The food quality and service surpassed what we have gotten at any other place. We walked in and the place is beautiful decorated. We were greeted and seated immediately. NOWAIT! We ordered 1 lb of Cajun shrimp, 1 lb of snow crab legs, breaded shrimp basket, chicken tenders, and an additional basket of Cajun fries. The food came out fast and it was so delicious. My boyfriend describes it as «a notch above the competition» you can taste the freshness in the food. The service was excellent. The girls there was constantly checking in with us and making sure we were ok. One of the servers even striked up a convo asking how we heard about this place. She advised me that they had been only open for 6 weeks. We definitely will be back. I’ve been ranting and raving about this place since we left. They made some new customers with us. Great food, service and prices!

It was or first time trying out this place. Totes delish!!! Must try! :) The only thing we weren’t really fond of was the space. It’s pretty small. So I have a feeling that once the word gets around about this place it’s going to get jam packed and hard to reserve tables!

Finger lickin’ good! So, for $ 33(shrimp star) was 3.5 lbs of yummy goodness. You can pick 3 seafood items you want(shrimp, crawfish, black or green muscles, clams). Then they steam that with potatoes, sausage, and corn in the sauce of your choice. I recommend to start mild or medium unless you have a high tolerance. We had the«full house» which is basically all the flavors blended together into a stew of garlic happiness. We did order more corn to toss into our plastic bag of sauce just to top off our meal. They are working on a dessert in the next week or so. Good service and good food.
