Used to be 5 stars but since moving a few years ago quality has gone down a bit. Still my favorite egg rolls, spring rolls and Chicken Lomein!

This was our favorite Chinese restaurant for many years and not just because they were only two miles from home. We were sad when we went there a few years ago and saw a closed sign that indicated permanently with no new address listed. We have since tried other Chinese restaurants but always found something we didn’t like such as too salty or sort of a bland taste even if they did some things well. By chance I happened to find out that they had moved to this new location so, of course, we had to go there. We were pleasantly surprised when our server instantly recognized us from the other location. After getting an update on the move we were ready to try some of our old favorites. We started out with the Sizzling Rice Soup and it was excellent as always. We also ordered the pan-fried Dumplings which, although we were told they were no longer made fresh at the restaurant, were still quite good. For our main dish we chose Scallops with Pea Pods and found it to as good as we remembered from the old days. They serve a good quality Green Tea at Jade Tiki. Sometimes it is the little things that tell the most about how good a restaurant is. We will definitely be back to try more of our long-lost favorites anytime we are on that side of town. Many Chinese restaurants seem to use way too much salt and the taste of the underlying ingredients is lost. Jade Tiki’s chef seems to have a good handle on how to balance the flavors and not resort to to much salt. While many of our old favorites are still offered on the menu, it was reduced to accomodate the smaller size of the new location. A few of our favorites, like Singapore Noodles, are no longer on the menu, and we would love to see them added back. But if you are looking for really good and tasty Chinese food, look no further.

Disappointing. I ordered Crab Rangoon which was oddly peppery with a sweet n sour combo. The rice was salty, the pineapple and veggies were brown, the batter for the chicken was yellow and the sauce itself was tasteless. The service was very good. Wish the food was!
