When you walk in the counter is way too high I’m short so I had a hard time hearing them and they had a hard time hearing me, let alone they could use a slighter more positive outlook considering it was dead inside they didn’t have any reason to seem rushed. Anyways pulled pork is good.

I try to support our local business and even though this is a chain it’s locally owned. But, the last couple times the food has just been so-so. Last week we got a to go order and it was the worse one yet. We had ordered sliced brisket and got chopped — I can live with it although not what I ordered. The ribs(in both orders) were so salty we could not eat them and we were shorted a side(shame on me for not checking). But the thing that really bothered me was how dirty the place looked. The floors looked like there was stuff all over them. If I had gone there planning to eat-in I would not have stayed. I could understand if they were slammed and people were packed in but that wasn’t the case. We won’t try it again.

My boyfriend and I love this place. I am so in love with the mac and cbeese. I have to come at least once a month. A little pricy or else we would come more.

My wife and I bought the three meat meals which consisted of: — brisket — pork ribs — chicken breast — pulled pork — spicy cheddar sausage Okay: spicy cheddar sausage and the pulled pork Below average: chicken breast and the pork ribs(I am being very generous with the rating) Horrible: brisket I tried the Dickey’s in South San Francisco, and I had a similar experience. If there is a fast food model for BBQ, this is it. There is nothing amazing about this BBQ, and a novice could probably make better BBQ by following directions from a recipe. They need to keep the meat moist, and stop letting it dry out and get cold sitting on a cutting board. There are way too many BBQ joints in the Bay Area and Sacramento Area that have solid offerings. My advice, save your money and go elsewhere.

Friendly Staff & service. Nice atmosphere. Brisket & Ribs are my favorites here. Prices decent. Not bad for California Bbq in this area. Will go again.

We ordered online and, not until we got there, did they tell us they were out of the baker we ordered! Why even put contact information in if they aren’t going to use it?! We ended up at the Fairfield location after calling in our order to be sure they had what we wanted. The food was really good but customer service at the VV location needs a little refining!

Went here for dinner a few weeks back with the family, and customer service was okay, food was good. Went there again, received excellent customer service from Jami! I was using some great coupons and they were so sweet here! I thought the ice cream machine was broken, but the owner came in and saved the day! Will be going here again soon, only thing I would like is a little bit bigger helpings please for the price. You can most definetly tell this is a family owned buissneuss and they cae about their customers!

As far as Dickies goes, this is one of the better stores. Great customer service, side dishes and drinks are awesome. BBQ sauces are great. I just don’t care for the Dickies way of BBQ’n. Meat is not in the smoker long enough. Also, it is cooked either one or two days ahead.(maybe longer) this causes the meat to dry out. They wrap it in plastic and keep it in a hot box, but this doesn’t help keep the moisture in the meat. Not the stores fault, just the way Dickies has franchises do their BBQ. Over all the flavor is good, just be sure to get plenty of sauce. You will need it.

I’ve tried to eat here 5 times now. Walked out three of those times. I really want this place to succeed. I’d love to have a good, local BBQ. Between the lack of customer service and running out of food, I’ve given up on it. The one time I was able to try the ribs, they were fantastic. Since then, they seem to run out of ribs everyday. The first time I walked out was when I walked up to the counter and was not acknowledged for a painfully awkward amount of time. The kid saw me standing there, we made eye contact. He ignored me and went back to scraping meat juice off his cutting board. I expected for him to eventually say something like«I’ll be right with you», which would have me respond, «No problem, take you’re time». But nothing, I finally turned around and walked out. Haven’t been back. Kinders in Fairfield is a bit of a drive, but it’s worth it.

I’m only giving this place 2 stars because of the spicy bbq sauce. It was amazing. Anyway, we ordered beef brisket sandwiches and 4 sides: Mac and cheese, cesar salad, «creamy coleslaw», and the bbq beans. The brisket was sooooo dry it was literally crumbling and falling off of the bun. We all had to pour bbq sauce on it to make it even tolerable to swallow. The mac and cheese was okay. Salad was wilty with like 3 strands of parm cheese. The«creamy» coleslaw was dry– but hey maybe that’s a pattern for this place. Bbq beans were actually good. For $ 6.50 per medium size that serves«3−4»… yah probably more like 2 maybe 3 not very hungry people. We won’t be back, the only reason we went in the first place is because we had a gift card, glad I didn’t waste my money on that place.

Two thumbs up for the excellent customer service! Five of us went there for lunch before going across the street for some outlet mall shopping. We were all unfamiliar with the menu. The ladies behind the counter were very kind and took time to explain the menu and make modifications for our pickier eaters. The food was yummy! Free soft serve ice cream was the best ever!

Pretty good BBQ! Love me some smoked meats! Popped in here to check out their smoked goodness. Got the 3 meat plate and split it between two of us. Ribs fell off the bone! The spicy hot chedder sausage had big chunks of cheese and jalapeños in it. Very good and spicy! Brisket had good flavor and was perfect once I added my choice of bbq sauce. And to top it off they had FREE soft serve ice cream!!! Yummy!!!

Decent BBQ… friendly, fast service. I ordered the brisket & pulled pork, mac&cheese, and baked potato casserole… All was good. I will go back again, but I wouldn’t consider this as a memorable BBQ experience.

I have never had a bad experience at Dickys. The last time we dined, they were out of ribs, however we went in for the daily special. The brisket is always fall apart tender. The onion tanglers are on the salty side, but you can request they don’t add salt once the leave the fryers. We almost always get the special because the price is lower and includes a drink. Our toddler loves the ice cream available and the«fast» food is helpful with squirmy kids in tow. Then pulled pork requires BBQ sauce no matter what. They have three options and as much as you want! This isn’t «gotta have it» food, but it’s not disappointing by any means.

I was very happy when they opened a dickeys here in Vacaville. The last time I had dickeys was when I lived in North Carolina. I thought the food was great and enjoyed the free ice cream. Staff was kind. Restaurant was clean. I really liked the sweet tea. Being from Louisiana, it’s really hard to find good sweet tea around here and I really appreciated dickeys sweet tea lol. I will be coming back again!

I was reluctant to try this place in fear that the food was heavy. We went here one afternoon for lunch. The seating is limited and if you are trying to eat in during peak hours, you may be in for a wait. We ordered the family meal for 5 – 6 people. The price was reasonable at $ 45. It doesn’t come with drinks, which was a bummer, so it ended up being closer to $ 55. The 5 star review is for the food. WOW. It was so delicious. The meats are all cooked perfectly and were tender and free of fat. The sides are also very good. We opt for the beef brisket, pulled pork and sausage. All were very good, great BBQ flavor easy to eat and the kids loved it too. We really like the beans, mac and cheese and cross cut fries. All were winners for our family. They also have a free ice cream bar that is complimentary for patrons. The kids loved that too. Overall great little eatery in Vacaville. We often get takeout too which is handy for a quick meal. We are already craving it again!

* Welcome Experience — Ordinary Approach the counter. Order. Nothing special here. A few comments that didn’t necessarily impact my rating… The menu board is really busy and difficult to navigate for no good reason. Should just be much simpler. Also, the meat counter is visible and the meats are kept in clear plastic bags which just make the presentation unappetizing. Small issues but unpleasant nevertheless. * Establishment — Discouraging This place is decorated very tightly by the franchise designers. It’s branded everywhere and has all the charm of a Mcdonalds. The tables are honestly way too close together. Every time someone has to navigate past you you have to squeeze in and lean forward so they can get in and out. It was obnoxious really. Everything is really dirty at this Dickeys. The soft serve machine, the cone dispenser, the aluminum corrugate lining the counters, the drink dispenser, the sauce dispenser. I was there at the beginning of dinner service on a Thursday night and it was already trashed. The tables have a plastic cover that’s costed with the sticky greasy film of the previous customers. I picked up my tray to go find a seat and the bottom was wet with food stuck to it. Gross. No wonder the tables are so bad. * Service — Ordinary Again, all the charm of Mcdonalds. They didn’t do anything wrong. They took my order. They handed me my tray. That’s it. * Food Quantity /Quality /Presentation — Discouraging I had a three meat platter(pic) with pork ribs, polish sausage and brisket. The brisket was inedible — although it seems like the seasoning would have been good if I could chew the meat.(Pic) The polish sausage is available at any grocery store prepack counter. The ribs didn’t work either. They were cold and gristly. The Mac and cheese was tasty! The«onion tangles» were onion fragments in a little brown bag. Also inedible.(Pic) The free soft serve is a nice touch but I skipped it because the ice cream and cone dispensers were dirty and it just didn’t look good. Kids were all over it though. * Stuff that isn’t important but I felt it was worth mentioning The sweet tea is very tasty. * What I’ll remember Smelled great! Was excited to try it! * What I can’t wait to forget The impossibly tight table spacing that felt like an unreasonable attempt to squeeze in one more table. Inedible brisket. * What now? I scratch Dickeys off my list and continue the search. Sorry Dickeys. Wanted to love it!

First time here and I was a little overwhelmed by their menu. At first I was going to get just the smokehouse salad but I saw a sign for their«buttery cornbread sandwich»(which is a limited time only item). I decided to also get this sweet pulled pork. My food was good. The salad consisted of chopped up brisket, chopped romaine, ranch dressing, shredded cheddar cheese, and thin onions rings. It was alot for one person so I only ate half. I also added some of their signature sweet BBQ sauce and it made the salad taste even better. The star of the meal however was their cornbread pulled pork sandwich. I mean the concept itself is genius! The taste was melt in your mouth yummy! Had I known I would have skipped the salad and bought two sandwiches! Especially since this is a limited time only item. I highly recommend you try that sandwich should you decide to eat here. After our meal, one of the women stopped by our table and asks how our meal was so that was a great way to end our lunch. Glad we finally got to try this place and I know we’ll be back soon.

I have been here three times now and eaten here twice. The first time we came was a few weeks after opening and the only meat available was pulled pork so we left. Our second visit the staff was still very disorganized and service was painfully slow. The meat station was handled by one person and he was going so slow the line was out the door with people leaving from the long line and others walking in and turning around to leave. This trip we arrived right at opening 11am and there was nobody in line and they had all meats available. We tried the three item combo: pick any three meats, two side and a roll for $ 12.50. We tried pulled pork which was average, brisket which was smokey good and ribs. You get two meaty pork ribs cooked fall off the bone tender delicious. Waffle fries and coleslaw were both tasty as well. The roll was pretty much just a waste of space with all that yummy bbq to eat :) For $ 12.50 you get a lot of good BBQ not the best but the value is outstanding. The best part of Dickey’s is the FREE soft serve ice cream, yes I said FREE and all you can eat at that LOL. There are cones available for the soft serve but I prefer to dump the ice from my soda cup and make a big fat root beer float for desert. Good value, good food and free soft serve make this chain a hit, especially if you have kids, come on, who doesn’t love free ice cream :)
