Incredible service and décor for on-mountain dining. The burger was the most expensive but best I have ever had. It’s a treat while skiing.

Awesome lunch on the mountain. Had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Great way to relax for lunch before heading back out to ski for the afternoon. We found the restaurant to be No more expensive than getting a burger and Gatorade at a normal mountain eatery. The meal: Mussels: 5 Margarita pizza: 3 Cappuccino: 5 Note: bowl of chili(my moms order) was massive — stick to ordering a cup

We have always loved coming to this restaurant during ski season but the menu has changed and the children’s menu price is insulting! You can pay $ 26 for a kids cheese pizza or PBJ or $ 21 for a salmon pizza on the adult menu! No comparison. When I spoke with the general manager to express my disappointment she just listened and nodded. She said nothing to apologize or acknowledge my feedback. Very disappointing. An excellent restaurant and view normally.

This is a favorite spot for special lunches during the season. The view is spectacular and the food is pretty good. They do offer some gluten sensitive food. They used to claim gluten free but have now changed language. My main complaint is that 3 of the past 5 visits we have been seated over 30 minutes late. There is no apology or accommodation. In addition the last two servers have been marginal. Late to greet the table, in a rush feeling the entire time, not concerned with our experience. They do charge an automatic 20 service charge, so on our table of 7 I guess his performance wouldn’t effect his tip. I am happy to pay 20%, I just prefer when the service is good.

A dining experience! Located mid mountain and accessible via gondola 1, you don’t want to miss this place! I don’t ski so I usually meet my husband here for lunch. They offer warm slippers for skiers for a break from uncomfortable ski boots. We have cocktails by the roaring fireplace with warm blankets followed by great food for lunch. Try the venison chili! The 10th is an experience for sure!

Amazing views, friendly service and great food! We went to the tenth, our first time, for my wife’s birthday. We’re expecting and her mom is here from overseas. The host, Chris, warmly welcomed us and led us to a great table with beautiful views of the Gore range. We ordered and received our food quickly and everything was perfect, even with my wife’s dietary restrictions. The server, Matt, was warm and accommodating to any of our needs. At the end of service, after payment, Chris told us that if we waited just a minute a treat would be on its way from the kitchen. They had overheard it was my wife’s birthday and had made a special desert. A lemon, coconut? curd with a cracker crust, raspberry purée and a bit of raspberry dust. Delicious. Such a treat and so sweet of them to care. We will be back! :)

I was a little disturbed about how fast the gondola was going when we had to get on and off. I figured if the gondola isn’t going to stop, it could at least slowed down a bit. I was also expecting the guys outside of it to help people get on and off, but that didn’t happen. Needless to say, a few people fell while getting on and off. On to the restaurant. I dined here on June 19th for a buffet style dinner while on a conference with my job. It was an open bar, so I told the bartender to surprise me with something made of rum. Whatever he concocted was awful. So, I went with something basic, belvedere and cranberry juice. Again, it was awful. When I looked around, a lot of people had almost full drinks. I just surmised the bartender wasn’t very good. I then opted for ginger ale. The buffet options were grilled vegetables, assorted cheeses, top round, salmon, a station where they made pasta(red sauce and alfredo), and pizza bread. The salmon was good and I would have liked the vegetables better if they had been warm. The vegetables were pretty cold. The cheddar cheese was mild and very delicious, but the gouda wasn’t very good. The assorted dessert they had was pretty tasty, unfortunately other than the brownie, I couldn’t say what it all was. The atmosphere was very nice and inviting, but that’s the best of it.

I’ve been skiing Vail since the mid 80’s and I was thrilled when a ‘high-end” restaurant and bar opened at mid Vail. I frequent it often and I’m always introducing it to folks that haven’t had the pleasure. We rarely eat in the restaurant but rather, drink and eat pizza or appetizers in the bar area. During skiing … before your last run down the mountain … it’s always a great time to stop at the 10th! However, I’ve noticed and I’ve had several of my friends notice, that the service is good only about 50% of the time. I’ve always shrugged it off and focused on appreciated all of the restaurant’s great attributes. Until our last visit. Our bartender was noticeable rude. Again, we shrugged it off. However, when the bar manager, Jody, started to be rude … our group of 3 realized that the inconsistent service was likely the result of management. If Jody, the bar manager, can treat us, on a number of instances, that he’s not interested in serving us … is it any wonder that we can get similar service from his employees. We went back the next day and left when we saw Jody behind the bar. Simply put … the Tenth is a wonderful experience with good food in a great space and setting. However, lowering your expectations regarding the service will best suit you.

The 10th is Vail’s flagship sit-down restaurant, located smack dab on the center of your trail map in Mid Vail. I’ve never stopped here for a meal during the ski day,(because I’m too busy skiing, duh!) but I’ve come by here twice for après ski food & cocktails. The 10th stays open till about 10−11pm, with after-hours access via the Vail One gondola. You won’t be able to board the gondola with skis after 4pm because the mountain is technically closed and they don’t want you skiing down in the dark. They have an OK happy hour, offering a few $ 12 après food items, but this isn’t a place to go if you’re looking to save money! Expect to shell out around $ 15 per drink and $ 35-$ 45 for entrees. Kids can get a three-course prix fixe for $ 24, which sounds good until you see that the«starter» is celery sticks with ranch, entrees range from PB& J to mac & cheese, and dessert is a choice of cookies or fruit… Well at least they have sunscreen and mouthwash in the bathrooms, and lockers with slippers you can change into! The 10th is definitely worth a visit, if for nothing else, so you can get a scenic ride on the gondola and take in some beautiful views once you’re up there. If you’re looking for a quick bite amidst a jam-packed day of skiing, you may want to go elsewhere.

This review is for the lunch ski in, ski out service. It’s really impressive they have such a fine dining establishment mid mountain at Vail. The best part is you can take a break and really relax during your ski day … A real splurge worth doing at least once on your trip or for a special occasion. There are locker room and excellent bathroom facilities where you can if you choose change from ski boots into slippers! Or just freshen up. The wine, beer, and cocktail list is extensive, though don’t forget about skiing after lunch or back down the mountain! Worst case you can take the gondola. Our server was excellent. The only reason I didn’t give four stars is the food was just okay. It may be what I ordered, a smoked trout sandwich. The sandwich tasted good, but the focaccia bread was heavy and a bit greasy. Truffle fries were fine, but I have had better. Dessert was yummy, a peanut butter ice cream sundae with banana bread, bacon, and chocolate! I would definitely return though to give other menu items a try!

Dinner at the 10th is an experience. It feels really romantic to take the gondola up and see all the lights in Vail twinkle. It can be a cold ride up, but they give you blankets to keep warm. Favorites on the menu: — Truffle fries: sooo good. Very generous with the truffle salt and oil. Huge portion(big enough for share among four) — Wild thing mushroom pizza: our favorite pizza. Shockingly delicious — Cocktails: everything we had was excellent The entrees are excellent as well. Lamb rack, bolognese, halibut — we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried. The portions are all incredibly generous. We have stuffed ourselves every time we’ve gone(and still had plenty to take home). It’s pricey, but worth it.

Special dinner for six highly anticipated based upon the buzz about this restaurant. Food was creative and tasteful, nice presentation. Wine list impressive and we enjoyed a unique Sonoma Pinot magnum the sommelier agreed was a great choice. Service was impersonal and largely absent– empty water glasses the norm and no one returned to serve us more our magnum of wine. Had to wave down our server twice and one of them was so aloof as to our presence he introduced himself to us again mid meal. With all the great dining experiences to be had in vail — Do Not Dine here!

After having dined at The 10th numerous times over the past 3 seasons, I was shocked by the horrible quality of my New Years’ Eve meal. This was the worst food AND service I have had in a restaurant in a long time– no question. Read on at your own risk: My meal started with a pumpkin soup that straddled the line between lukewarm and chilled, as did most of my food over the course of the evening. I can only surmise that all heat lamps in the kitchen were broken and no one cared to notify us. There is no other fathomable reason why soup, steak, and mashed potatoes should all arrive stone cold. The next course, «Ham and Asparagus» consisted of 3 semi-raw spears of asparagus paired with a microscopic piece of overcooked bacon– just enough to remind you of what the dish should have been, if only a trained adult had prepared the food that evening. I had the great fortune of choosing the short rib as my entrée, which our waiter raved about the one and only time he appeared at our table that evening. Upon arrival, the meat was rock hard and extremely salty to the point of being inedible(and cold, of course)! Perhaps this explains why the server never returned to set the silverware, ask how the food tasted, offer any dessert wine or coffee. Perhaps this is why he snatched the check, and the half-consumed dessert, out of my hands, without so much as an «Are you finished?» or «Happy New Year.» What a lovely way to ring in 2015. There is a lot of amazing food in the Vail Valley. Go to one of the many restaurants where the waitstaff and kitchen care about their diners’ experiences. The 10th is certainly not among them.

This is probably one of the most expensive restaurants in Vail, and to be frank, the food and service sucks. The coat check and bar stared off nicely, but when we were brought to our seats that sentiment quickly changed. The tables are all long and wide, and the open space of the dining room made it quite loud. So don’t expect to converse with anyone farther than a seat or so away from you. Our waiter was mediocre at best, and one of the servers managed to hit my mom in the head with the dishes he was carrying qt one point. Nice. Then, mid-way through our dinner, a weird fluorescent light turned on above us that we were told«would probably go off eventually» but actually remained on for the remainder of our dinner. No one knew what the light was for, why it turned on, or how to turn it off. So after hitting one of us in the head with plates, shining a fluorescent light on us half the night, and serving us cold oddly tasting meals, we weren’t surprised to find plenty of hidden cheapskate type fees in our bill. Explain to me how you justify charging $ 6 to split a $ 40 plate of vegetables? You can’t. Unless your Vail Resorts. Don’t waste your money here. Goto Beanos, goto Splendido, go somewhere they care about food and fine dining more than profit.

The restaurant is beautiful. The staff goes above and beyond and the amenities are pure luxury. Unfortunately, after having a celebratory reunion lunch with our dear friends, we signed our check and left. Within hours our bank was calling us with fraudulent purchases made over the Internet. Someone within this restaurant had pirated our card number and helped themselves to thousands of dollars in purchases. We know the theft came At this restaurant because we used a credit card we had not used in weeks due to my husband forgetting our main credit card inside the hotel. I just happened to have this back up credit card. In my purse.

I walked in, amazed by the splendor of the lodge. Then meandered over to the coat room, removed my boots, and slid on a pair of comfey slippers. Oh boy… Anticipation was high; how could apre ski get better? We found a table by the big fire, covered up in a blanket, and went to order drinks. Beer, yes what a refreshing idea. Oh wait… They were out of the first 4 beers I tried to order. Womp womp, but I settled on the flight tasting. I do have to say a great option! Then for food. Ordered the fondu and a pizza. Pricey, but we were expecting that for ‘on the mountain’ apre ski… but then our apre ski turned for the worst. Starting with the fondu, the beer mustard had clearly expired; it tasted nothing of mustard, but rather a rotten green brown paste. Then to the two tiny slices of potatoes. Maybe our table would have tried them if THEYHASBEENWASHED. yes dirt was on the potatoes. Luckily, we still had enough items for dipping for a collective 5 bites amongst the group. And to the cheese… Tasted like one slice of ementhaler with a full udder of milk. We questioned if there was truly cheese in the fondu.(Disclaimer, we are Swiss and have high expectations). Even so, luckily we had the pizza to save the day To the pizza — it looks cute. Literally, $ 17 got us a personal pan the size of my 5th grade cafeteria pizzas. We each had a small slice, probably about $.75 per square inch, but it was relatively good. Not quite as tasty as the chucky cheese I went to for my 12th bday party, but definitely better than the Caesars pizza at my local gas station. Honesty, we expected gourmet pizza, and got a personal pan. Being serious as a good critic, this restaurant had major potential. The interior décor, design, and service is impeccable. For that service, and ambiance, I bump from a 1 to 2 stars. However, the food quality would require someone to pay for me to eat there again. I’m just happy I didn’t get food poisoning from the mustard.

Okay, first, since no one tells you this yet in the reviews — you can go up for lunch by just getting a scenic lift ticket for $ 20. This will allow you to go up and down on the 2 gondolas in Vail for the whole day. You can buy this at the ticket counters on the day of or beforehand, though it must be purchased in person. If you go at dinner, you can go up for free. Next, take into account that you will be walking along the ski trail on the mountain from the lift to the location. If you’re wearing shoes that aren’t condusive, it’s a little diffcult. Also, you’ll be dodging skiers. But, it’s worth it – you will have an amazing view! Inside, you can borrow some of the cozy slippers or enjoy some of the great freshening products in the bathroom(deodarant, mouthwash, hairspray, etc.). The place is HUGE, and the menu is very diverse — good for families and folks of all ages. It’s not your typical casual cafeteria style top of the mountain location, but it is definitely a nice addition to the mix. Service was good — friends and attentive — and the hostesses were good too. The wine list had lots of options too.

The fact that a place like the 10th exists on Vail mountain makes me happy and unwilling to tromp around a cafeteria in my ski gear ever again. I’d heard rumors of cozy heated boots to lounge around in while dining on delicious food and couldn’t wait to give it a try. Figuring that many people had the same idea that I did, I tried to make myself a reservation for lunch. Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations for a party of one(or didn’t when I tried) but no worries, I was able to snag a seat at the packed bar. When you’re not dining at a table, you don’t get the cozy boots. I was sad for a second but couldn’t stay that way while sitting in the lively bar area with an awesome view of the slopes. I wasn’t going to drink… who am I kidding, there was a great selection of cocktails, wine and beer so that didn’t last long. I thought about getting a cocktail but then remembered that I’d have to make it down the mountain so I settled in with a nice porter and ordered myself a kobe burger. I was actually surprised at how good the menu looked. After years of only having the choice of a hamburger or something fried for lunch on the mountain, it was so nice to see a real, actual menu. What can I say, I guess the years of limited choices had me trained, that burger was calling my name. The only thing, though, is that this burger was way better. Or maybe it was all that much better because it wasn’t served to me on a tray. It’s tempting to stay there all afternoon to drink and socialize with other skiers but then you remember why you came out in the first place. The 10th is conveniently located at Mid Vail which makes it a piece of cake to ski in and ski out. Next time I’ll have to come back for apres ski. I’m sure it would be a blast!
