My friend and I are both HUGE fans of Chinese lunch specials. Who doesn’t like a butt-load of a food for usually $ 10 or less? Although this one didn’t come with as much as we were used to, we were still both very satisfied with our experience! We got there on a Wednesday around 11:30 for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant, which made me a little skeptical, but also was kind of nice. I sometimes enjoy restaurants with no other customers cause the service is usually faster and it isn’t super loud with all the conversations going on around you. Even though their lunch special seems a bit limited, you are able always ask for other dishes to see if they will do a subsitution of that entrée for an extra charge. My friend ordered honey walnut shrimp which isn’t on their lunch special menu, but they were able to do it for us anyways. I saw they had peanut butter chow fun as one of their specials, but unfortunately they weren’t able to do that item as a lunch special.(definitely trying it next time!) All of their lunch specials include an entrée of your choice, along with soup of the day, and either white rice or fried rice. For my entrée I ordered the spicy garlic prawns with fried rice. We also were craving some crab and cream cheese wontons so decided to split an order of those. The soup of the day was a vegetable soup, which kind of tasted similar to a chicken noodle soup without the chicken. It was pretty good, but nothing super exciting. The crab and cream cheese wontons were absolutely delicious! They were filled very generously and fried to perfection! Absolutely amazing dipped in the red sweet and sour sauce! Definitely getting these everytime I come here! When my entrée finally came, the crab and cream cheese wontons were so bomb that they had been devoured! I counted the prawns in my entrée and even though there were probably only 6 good sized prawns, there were plenty of water chestnuts and other veggies drenched in the delicious spicy garlic sauce that I cherished every single bite! The fried rice on the side tasted a little bit burnt, but when I ate it with some sauce, it made it all better. Compared to most other lunch specials, the food quality here is better than most I’ve tried. Although some may include potstickers, eggrolls, soup, salad, an entrée with rice, AND be AYCE, sometimes quality is greater than quantity. J’s Garden truly shows that! Can’t wait to return and stuff my face with more crab and cream cheese wontons! 4 stars!

Their eggplant spicy garlic wasn’t really spicy or flavorful. I had most of the food on their menu and it was good.

We were craving Chinese and came across this place. We had Chicken spring rolls, Beef chow mein, and Sweet & Sour pork. The spring rolls were the tastiest. The chow mein was pretty bland and needed more flavour. The sweet and sour pork was ok.

When my family and I crave for Chinese food, we call in and order from J’s. Their service is pretty fast. We live in Glen Cove and they have our order ready in 20 – 25 minutes. The usual dishes we order from here are: stuffed eggplant(this appetizer actually made me enjoy eggplant!), fried wontons, chow mien, fried rice, walnut prawns, and tofu with veggies. We recently started ordering their version of orange chicken; sometimes it’s good, and other times it’s extremely dry.

The worst Chinese food ever! I seriously doubt they even qualify to be called as Chinese food. I asked for schezuan chicken and they came up with some dry fried chicken! And the least said about the chowmein is better. First and last time for me

I had to put one star on to write the review but if I could I would have left it at none. Hadn’t tried any chinese places in the area and this one was rated fairly well so we thought we’d give it a shot… We ordered a total of 5 entrees, 2 appetizers and since the dinners didn’t include rice… 2 orders of rice. A $ 90 dollar dinner. Was told we would receive it in 45 minutes. Once an hour had passed we called to check on our order. Woman on the phone didn’t offer anything for already being 15 minutes late and also had no idea when her driver had left so didn’t know when we could expect our food. A half an hour later our food finally arrived… barely warm enough to not need reheating. We ordered the sweet and sour pork. Soggy and cold. The sesame chicken… Only half of it was covered in sauce, the batter wasn’t cooked all the way through, what was covered in sauce was soggy and the meal was cold. The egg rolls were soggy. The rice hadn’t even been cooked enough to thaw the frozen peas. All in all nothing was even worth eating. Don’t waste your time or money. We definitely won’t be calling this place ever again.

Never going back here and to be completely honest, I’d give them negative stars if I could. Came with a party of 6 around 8pm. There were 2 other customers in the restaurant. Waited about 2 minutes to get seated, another 5 minutes to get our menus, then 2 minutes later our server rudely gave us tea. About 15 minutes later, we were more than ready to order, called for the waiter several times, and all we got was«yeah yeah, be right there» while we were waiting we found a spoon on the floor and our plates were dirty upon arrival. Ended up just walking out and going to a nearby restaurant. We had no problem waiting, the rudeness of the server is what made us leave.

For me this is one of the best Chinese places in Vallejo. Great prices, great service, and most of all awesome food. Only gripe is its small in there. I like the food better than its fancier brother Sticky rice.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for my «go to» Chinese restaurant. I tried this place a few days earlier for lunch and ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch plate. Overall, it was okay. Not the best I’ve ever had. The service that day was excellent. A young, non-Asian girl who was very attentive. On my second visit, I ordered the beef chow fun with black bean sauce. It wasn’t even good enough to be okay. It was very bland and the black bean flavor was almost non-existent. I tried the get my waitress’s attention to get some hot mustard to make up for the bland noodles. Once she brought my order, she never can back to refill my drink or see if there was anything else I needed. She was an older Chinese woman. Possibly the owner. After being ignored for about 10 more minutes, I decided to leave. Half my order was still on the plate. At the time, there were only two other tables occupied so there was no excuse for the bad service. To say I would never go back to this restaurant is an understatement. If this is the service you get with 3 parties in the restaurant, I would hate see the service if and when it is actually busy.

Now I remember why I stay at home and make my own food. A friend and I ordered the Mongolian beef dish. Upon receiving the dish, we noticed the plate was full of vegetable as we added broccoli. The dish only had a few very thin pieces of beef. If you are going to name a dish«Mongolian beef» anyone with logic would assume the dish would contain majority, BEEF. We had to pay extra to add more beef. It doesn’t cost $ 10 for a plate of broccoli, I could’ve went to the store and got a steak and broccoli for that price. I’m tired of the cheapness and overpricing. I’ll stick to home cooked meals.

I ordered the house chow fun with black bean sauce and fried won ton get it home and opened the friend wonton box and it was these huge fried things gummy ends on boy horrible. The chow fun with black bean sauce was kind of dry I’ve had better. I can’t tell they even put any black bean sauce on it.

Higher rating mostly for the service and the staff. The fare is traditional American Chinese food, and it’s pretty tasty. Comparing to the other like restaurants in the area, the food seems of higher quality, and much less greasy. The service is outstanding. The wait staff cares about you, is very attentive, and gets food to you as fast as possible. The food itself is filling. Their lunch specials do the trick every time. If you come here, you’ll get a hefty portion of rice, and soup with your meal. They’ll substitute chow mein if you prefer for a small upcharge. If you want authentic, head elsewhere. For American Chinese food, this place does it pretty good.

Sorry, but this was the WORST Chinese food we have ever had. We knew we were in trouble when we couldn’t even stomach the pop stickers. How can you mess up pop stickers? Here is a run down of the rest of our horrible meal: 1. Spicy Garlic Chicken — decent 2. Veggie Chow Mein — tasteless 3. Orange Sesame Chicken — sauce thrown over dry breaded chicken 4. Shrimp fried rice — rice was hard(shrimp was decent) 5. Pop stickers — overly breaded and meat was gross The best part of the meal was the fortune cookies. Will not return and will never recommend them to anyone else.

Terrific Chinese food! Great for take-out, especially after a long day at work and no one feels like cooking. The honey walnut prawns are to die for; the shrimp and pork fried rice is really good, and the shrimps are big, unlike other Chinese restaurants who only use small prawns in their rice dishes. Also, the Szechuan Wontons are one-of-a-kind delicious; never had anything like it before.

As far as Chinese food goes, this place is just fine. I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food, but this place is just as good or better than any other place. The restaurant is clean, and service is always quick. I came last night with my dad and brother. We got the wor wonton soup(very tasty, but slightly on the salty side), pot stickers(they kind of seemed pre-made to me? they didn’t have that really crispy bottom like I’m used to…), pork fried rice and chicken chow mein(I hate when there’s a ton of veggies, and neither of these had too many!), and orange chicken(a-okay but nothing special). Total was $ 45. I’ve been here probably a dozen or so times in my life, but rarely ever go. This was my first time here in probably a year or so. It was a-okay!
