New China Barn

My go-​to for Chinese food. The eggplant with tofu is a favorite. I have never had better tofu from a Chinese place. I’ve ordered with them about 4 times and each time, it has come faster than expected. The prices are decent.

I have been ordering from New China Barn for years and I just received my order via delivery and it did not come with everything I ordered. I called and asked they bring the rest of my order out to me and they said they were too busy. I just became too busy to order from New China Barn again. Bad customer service. I will be sure to tell my friends not to go here either.

Have ordered here a few times, they are ok I guess, hit or miss, sometimes they don’t take care to remember no onions and not get your order right…

Nasty. Small portions, Expensive. And food has no flavor. Ordered from grub hub. Will not go or eat there food again.

My husband and I were looking for a quick bite while we ran errands. We were pleasantly surprised by their extensive lunch menu! I ordered Mongolian beef and he ordered sweet and sour pork. The food came quickly and was inexpensive and tasty! Our waitress was very friendly and immediately offered hot tea. Highly recommended!

The name fits. The food is probably prepared in a barn since the food took an hour to get to us. I’m hangry as I write this.

I am really disappointed with this restaurant :/​Yesterday night we ordered Chowmein, fried rice, won ton soup and Lemmon chicken and had it delivered .
We ordered around 6:10. They told us the delivery man would be here in about 45 min. An hour and a half later he finally arrived. The Chowmein and wonton soup were very good. The rice on the other hand was super dry. The Lemmon chicken didn’t include any kind of Lemmon sauce? It was just fried battered chicken with 2 tiny slices of Lemmon. Very disappointing considering it was like almost 10 bucks. I don’t think I would order from this place again.

Delicious came super quick for delivery and everything was fresh and hot. Great prices too. Will definitely just be getting China food here from now on.

Very good food, it was hot upon delivery, and delivery time was reasonable. They gave 45 min expectation but they came sooner. Ordered on a Sunday evening around 7. I just didn’t like that there were no combo plates offerred, so rice was separate but it was alot if food and enough to share for at least 2 to 3 per rice order. $ 40 for two fried rice sides, honey and sweet n sour chicken and won ton soup. Little pricey for all I ordered put soo good!

they do not trust their costumers and treat them like $h!t!!!
it came very tiring having my debit/​credit card rejected by new china barn because they want all of your personal information to call you bank in order to order food. my card keeps getting rejected not because of lack of funds or was stolen but because you cannot spell!!! why do i have to argue with you about the spelling of my street??? my street is major residential street in town and close to your business!!! at least try looking at the street signs to learn the correct spelling!!! how may times do i have to give you the correct spelling for try to get you to listen??? instead you fight, argue, and treat your costumers with disrespect. my street name is a common word. not a fancy street name. how many costumers are you loosing here? how many costumers think you are idiots? the old person who use to take the orders did not have this problem.
stop thinking all of your costumers and the city of vallejo are criminals. learn to spell or get someone who can!!! stop disrespecting your costumers.

If your menu says it have a food item… Stop arguing that the item is NOT on the menu!!!

PROS:
1) Quick delivery time. Eat24 gives you a 45 – 60 estimate but I think it was more like 30 – 35 minutes. Based on other reviews here, they’ve done even better than that.
2) They don’t skimp on flavor. If you ask for spicy, they’ll give it to you. Nothing «mild» about their mild Mongolian beef.
3) The food is decent. Nothing horrible and did not make me sicker… the whole point of delivery food is I was sick and couldn’t drive to get food or grocery shop.
4) Very considerate delivery packing. Each dish we ordered that had lots of sauce was individually packed in its own clear plastic so when the sauce did spill (it happens sometimes) it did not create a huge mess that ruined the dining experience before it even begins. This was a HUGE extra step that I appreciate and it’s what bumped my rating from a 2.25 to a solid 3 stars.
CONS:
1) Too many filler vegetables. The Mongolian Beef was more Mongolian onions with some beef. It’s not as bad as another place I’ve reviewed… but definitely, corners were cut and it’s evident to the customer. Singapore chow fun was mostly noodles and bean sprouts.
2) Small portions.
3) Nothing spectacular about the food… I’m not clamoring to go to the restaurant or order again anytime soon. Just… passable.

Ever since we moved to Vallejo we have loved this place. Generous portions, as good service as can be expected, and great prices. You definitely get your money’s worth the people are friendly. They’ve also been updating the j side slowly but surely. It’s always been very clean but they’re adding some decorative touches which is nice to see. Only downside is they don’t take Discover or Amex, only Visa and MasterCard but that’s not a reason not to go. Definitely recommend!

We couldn’t decide which Chinese place to order from so we took a chance at ordering delivery from here, it was fast & the prices are good. The app said it was going to take 45 – 60 mins to deliver but the guy came in 20mins & the food was fresh & super good.

Oh my god. Must be new owners. I’ve been ordering and pickup and dine in for over five years. I just got one of THE WORST MEALS I’VE EVER HAD. And I’m Italian, I’ll eat anything. Rotten prawns went straight into the garbage: praying hard I don’t get food poisoning. Salad with rotten lettuce and burnt peanuts. All of the food reeked like smoke. So bizarre. Reeked. Like. Smoke. Perhaps the devil is their new chef and he uses brimstone liberally. For half a decade been getting consistently great food every time. This order was SO bad I’ll never never ever eat their food again under any circumstances. It was THAT BAD. Beware.

Awful. Simply awful. I didn’t get sick but had horrible stomach ache in the night. Thanks but no thanks.

This time i order the food to delivery, the driver was very nice, polite, and fast. I love this restaurant’s food, was very good and health.

This place is very accommodating to vegans and people with gluten sensitivities. They make me special items not on the menu. My favorite is salt & pepper tofu which is great. It comes out hot, crispy on the outside and tender inside.
They can get super busy at lunch and dinner so plan accordingly.
The staff is really sweet.

We order delivery from here frequently, not just because of how easy they make online ordering, but because of how delicious their food is. The veggie chow mein is great, and their egg rolls are the best ones I’ve ever tried. The portions are a good size, and it’s it’s never hit or miss. It’s a hit every time. The last two times I’ve ordered, they’ve had it delivered 20 minutes later.

So I looked on Unilocal for a Chinese food delivery place and saw this one. The woman who helped me on the phone was so extremely nice and friendly. She was polite and great. She took my order and said it would be there in 40 minutes. That was fine because that’s about average time for delivery places. The food showed up in 23 minutes! Hot and steaming and tasted fresh cooked. The delivery guy was super polite and friendly as well. I even have him a $ 5 tip because of the super fast time, polite-​Ness, and hot delicious food. We had chicken chow mein, beef and broccoli, beef fried rice, and sweet n sour pork. Loved all of them. I definitely recommend this place. They also sent me coupons which is even better because I will be calling again!
