Before I end the night and crash onto my bed of soft pillows, I have to give props for the Italian restaurant in Vallejo. Zio Fraedo is the definition of Vallejo’s diamond in the rough. It’s perfect if you plan on having a romantic dinner by the marina with your honey or your BFF. Plus, this Italian restaurant is super local if you live within the Solano County. ;) Location: It’s right off the beaten path as soon as you exit down Sacramento Street going towards the Vallejo Ferry. It’s inconspicious and looks like a cozy house from afar until you walk into the main lobby with a friendly hostess. Ambiance: Zio Fraedo has that local charm. It’s sweet, simple, romantic by the marina at night. It’s what I call a semi-fancy date if you want to spend just enough to impress your date on a Saturday or Sunday night. A lot of the customers here were low key with their conversations while I felt like Brian and I were being a bit too obnoxious for the other customers to handle. Nevertheless, the dining experience was peaceful and private. Food: Brian and I came here because his boss gave us a $ 50 gift certificate as our three year anniversary gift. However, we decided to save that certificate for another time until Valentine’s Day rolled in! We were served with a special Valentine’s Day four course dinner, and I can easily say I got way more than what my lovely date can pay for! We grabbed our seats and was immediately served with some water, bread, and complementary Mimosas. — Appetizer: Brian and I chose to munch on the crab cakes as a starter. It was crispy and light with the sauce to complement its flavor. It was good, but it was only the beginning to a good dinner. –Salad: OMG. I can’t get over how delicious that salad was! The dressing was light and fruity; plus the cheese and nuts garnished with everything was perfect. The amount of greens plus apples and strawberries were just the right amount. — Main Course: While I had the Chicken Toscano, Brian popped his Filet Minion virginity. The chicken toscano was rich in creamy flavor while the chicken was lightly breaded with some bread crumbs and a light crispy bite with a juicy aftertaste. Also, the potatoes and the greens were satisfying to complement that main course. Brian on the other hand, got a Filet Minion. Even though I sampled a little bit of the meat, I have to give them mad props for cooking the meat perfectly and using sauce that won’t make the filet minion taste dry. Dessert: Brian had the chocolate cake while I had the chocolate mousse. I have to say that the chocolate mousse was good but it wasn’t as memorable as the moist chocolate cake. Customer Service: I love our waitress. She was very kind and sweet. I love how she gave us enough privacy to enjoy our meal and make us feel right at home at the same time. Overall: Great vibes for a perfect date night! I can’t say anything more than that!

zio fraedo is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. The view of the sunset was amazing. The waiters & waitresses are very friendly. The table setting with the candles are so soothing. The food was better than I expected & the desserts were to die for! The owners, sherry & Tony, are very sweet and love to talk to people. I’ll definitely come back again & recommend this place to other people!

The service is as perfect as the food! The staff is very attentive and sweet. Offered amazing recommendations! The lumpia and carrot cake are homemade, and were to die for. Also tried the calamari, scallops, and crab & shrimp linguini, which were some of the most amazing dishes I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place. It’s beautiful; it is a bit hidden in the prettiest part of Vallejo. Great for parties, banquets, and dates!

My sister was in town for the holidays and had been wanting to try Zio Fraedo’s for awhile. I had been a couple times, but she had never been, so we decided this would be the perfect place for our family to have a nice dinner together and visit. The restaurant is right on the water and very cute, both inside and out. We started with some lumpia and caprese salad to share while waiting for the rest of our food. The lumpia is absolutely delicious! I don’t care if they are an Italian restaurant, I will get their lumpia every time I come here! The caprese salad was alright, but nothing memorable or spectacular. For my entrée I decided to create my own pasta. I got penne with arrabiata sauce(basically spicy marinara) and meatballs. I asked the waitress if it would be spicy, and it definitely was spicy! Not like it was unbearable, but it was definitely spicier than I had expected. For dessert we decided to share an order of crème brûlée and an order of the chocolate lava cake a la mode. I came into that meal knowing I wanted crème brûlée, but the real winner here was the chocolate lava cake. The crème brûlée was just a little too thick and eggy compared to some better crème brulees that i’ve had. The lava cake was the perfect amount of moist, warm, chocolate, and sweetness that made it nearly impossible to be satisfied sharing one order between five people.

Wow! My meal was great on every level. Recommendations were spot on. They have so many options I needed some recommendations. I will definitely frequent this place more often.

Chicken strips are one of my favorite things ever and I think Zio’s has the best, most gourmet crispy chicken strips I could ever ask for in life. Dipped in their zesty buffalo sauce and creamy ranch is amazing. The burgers, sweet potato fries, twins tornados, chicken parmesan, tortellini pasta, and shrimp bruschetta are delicious, too! The chocolate lava cake is great– everything here tastes so good, I love it!

Zio Fraedo’s in Vallejo, has it all. Great scenery, great food, and great customer service. Owners Sherry & Tony, were hospitable, helpful and made us feel like family. The menu is fairly priced with many great selections. Being near the water, the outdoor views are nice year round. This is a must for all who want a great dining experience.

This was a really charming place to eat on the water front. I made reservations for 2, but didn’t need them for a Friday night at 5pm — it was mostly empty, so we got nice seats looking out at the boats on the dock. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu’s are cartoonishly large, but I prefer that over places with 15 page menus. Seriously, consolidate that stuff! The food was pretty good — not the best by any means, but not bad at all. Had we had bad service or had to wait a lot, I would probably have been a lot less happy with it. Probably wasn’t worth the price, but the overall experience made up for it. Do expect to pay quite a bit, though. 2 Waters 1 Appetizer 1 Special Entrée(came with salad) 1 Dinner Entrée 1 side salad 1 desert cake Total over $ 100.

Taco Tuesday! It’s a good deal, tacos were stuffed with meat and tasty. Clam chowder was 4⁄5 for taste, huge bowl for $ 6. Malibu Barbie Tini was very scrumptious. Atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. Our waitress Jillian was very sweet and helpful.

Lovely restaurant on the waterfront. Usually only come here during events and such but lately I’ve been coming for the happy hour and wacky Wednesday from time to time. While the prices for either happy hour or wacky Wednesday’s are great, the service is what kills the experience. Every time I’ve gone, it’s the same lady at the front. While is friendly, I see her scrambling to help in the bar area as it seems the servers are scrambling to attend to their customers as well. The servers are friendly but I’m not really sure what’s going on here. The average wait time for food seems to be half hour to 45 minutes. Something like bruschetta or salad doesn’t take that long to prepare and serve. The food they serve is average but you’ll upgrade that thought to good for the price if your going for happy hour, only if the food arrives in a timely matter. Time is a under appreciated factor when it comes to a menu. It’s never seen in the price, and it’s valuable. Nobody wants to wait forever, nonetheless be hungry and wait. As for the last experience here, it was the longest I waited. I requested for a medium rare cook on my burger, I was brought a well done burger. At this point, their is no reason to complain because it probably would have taken another half hour. If cooking a burger properly here is hard then maybe I should be eating fast food instead, it wouldn’t cost me $ 14. Maybe they’re running understaffed here but I don’t think I’ll be returning here after my last experience here.

I really love this local place. My review is based off dining in the bar, as I’ve never actually sat down in the main dining area. My favorite place for Taco Tuesday. Beef or chicken, soft or hard shell. Simple, cheap and delish. You can also get a cup of their tortilla soup and it’s one of my favorites. Best margarita in Vallejo hands down. They’re also discounted on Tuesdays. Wacky Wednesday is the second best night with discounted appetizer/menu items like their amazing chicken wings. The only complaint I have is that on those two nights the bar area can get extremely crowded. So get there early and expect to be there for quite a while. They should really consider bringing on an extra waiter or waitress to help out because it can take a really long time to get drink and bread refills.

It was a sign — our reservation could not be found — they didn’t have it logged into their system. Fortunately, the restaurant was empty and they were able to seat our group of 9. Slow service. Appetizers came in spurts then our entrees, took a full(2) two hours from the time we were seated. Two entrees were delivered a full ten minutes after the first(7) were served. We were not here during a rush or peak time. More than half the tables in the restaurant were empty. Chicken salad fans, don’t order he Chinese Chicken Salad. It’s a bag of premixed vegetables like the kind you get at Costco or Sam’s Club with strips of grilled chicken throw in. In all fairness, the grilled chicken was decent. The dressing was not. Fried chicken was nice and crispy but very salty. Probably good with beers… Difficult to recommend this establishment.

Delicious! The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the salmon special with prawns and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely come here again. The food here is worth the price and the view is amazing. Truly a gem in Vallejo :)

Best of Vallejo 2012??? Not 2015, that’s for sure. Nearly $ 20.00 for a ceasar salad that cost at the most 75 cents to make. Opted for the side ceasar salad and that was a disappointment. Somebody needs to show the owner how a real ceasar salad is supposed to be made. Cocktail ordered«7−7» had almost no seven up in it, tasted more like water. Companions Chicken Parmesian and side soup was good however my veal piccata wasn’t worth the price. Three small slices of what appeared to be white veal that must have been cooked in boiling water rather the correct way. About a quarter of a cup of bow tie pasta, about 5 string beans and 1 piece of califlower about the size of a marble. Sliced French bread was ok at best and was served with about a tablespoon of garlic mixed with olive oil. Evening specials were all priced at over $ 30.00 and one was a pork chop… not in my lifetime. Service was good.

Wife and I gave Zio Fraedo a second shot this evening. Our last experience the food was pretty lackluster. Tonight was quite the opposite as the food was quite good. Why the 2 stars? The service was lousy. Food First. We had the chicken and prosciutto, and Beef Tournados. Chicken dish was OK, but the Beef dish shined. The sauce was excellent, meat well cooked. Service: We were given the option of the tavern or the main dining room. We chose the tavern. Had the receptionist mentioned that the Tavern area came with an overworked«tavern boy» which equates to lousy service… we would have chosen the main dining room. Long waits, lots of apologies for lack of service. Ordered a salad, it never made it. Drinks empty, etc.,.etc. He was trying but appeared they had given him all of the tables in the tavern. He couldn’t keep up. The noise in the tavern is on me,(very loud if you plan on chatting quietly) but I rather expected that. I didn’t expect the poor service.

My husband and I came here for the very first time after living in Vallejo for years. Why haven’t we been here sooner is my only regret. Atmosphere is beautiful and the food is delicious. We’ve been searching for a great Italian place locally and I’m so glad we’ve finally found it. We ordered the Big 3 appetizer which consists of Calamari, deep fried zucchini and Bruschettas. Sooooo good, it was fresh and crispy. I ordered the chicken Alfredo fettuccini with sundried tomato and I added mushrooms… best decision ever. It was flavorful and not overly seasoned like some major chain restaurants tend to do. My hubby ordered the shrimp and crab linguini… great choice as well for seafood fans. Crab and shrimp was deeee-lish. Highly recommend. Service was good too.

This restaurant is the Bomb. Com! ! I came here again for the Super Bowl Sunday! My dad recommended we meet here and watched the game while I enjoyed the drinks. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and everyone knew me by name. I ordered the calamari and fried chicken wings, which was amazingly food! I also ordered a Margarita on the rocks, shout out to my bartender John Wayne for the great tasty drinks! yummy! My waiter was so nice and catered to everything I needed ! Thank you for my waiter Cory for the great customer service! ! He definitely reminded me how much I missing out on! Love love love this restaurant! ! I will definitely be back! !

Very tasty Italian food, and a good selection at that. My family and I came her, and they placed us in our own room out front. Nice of them since we can get loud and I loved the privacy. I had the chance to sample off everyone’s plate, and everything was mighty tasty. Of course, I was fairly wine wasted and starving, but everyone else loved it so I*‘ll roll with it. My fiancé had the rack of lamb, of course, I thought it was«just okay», it was very flavorful and tender. But it tasted like… lamb. Ick. He loved it, take his word please. I had the chicken prosciutto, I really liked that. My cousin’s girlfriends pesto was also really good. Whoever made my martini did a fantastic job. And our server was great, handled my crazy ass family really well.
