Dragon garden has closed down… The store has for rent signs on the windows. It’s kinda sad, I have been eating here for 25 years.

There’s not many options when it comes to Chinese takeout in Valley Stream, but I recently started going back to Dragon Garden. Its decent, run of the mill Chinese food. But, I appreciate that since going there 3 – 4 times over the past 2 weeks, I’ve become a «regular» and the owner knows me and my order. He is very friendly.

I can’t say enough about Dragon Garden. I’ve been going to this chinese take-​out in valley stream for about 8 years now, and have tried most of the items on the menu, and have found just about all of them to be excellent. the combination plate for lunch is a great value at around $ 5 (includes pork fried rice and two fried wontons) — my go-​to is the general tso’s chicken, but for a unique flavor, would recommend the spicy ginger chicken. As for dinner, both the szechuan spiced shrimp and singapore chow mei fun noodles (shrimp/​pork/​chicken with a kick of curry) are fantastic.
Overall, service is very friendly, food is excellent (best in town and possibly best in LI?), and the prices are very fair — what’s not to love?
