Jiffy Lube

For starters I’ll start with the only good thing about this place, they afford okay customer service. I walked out paying $ 40 more than I was told when I first walked in, which a quarter of I’m fine with because I okayed that part of the service, but when I saw the receipt, I saw that they charged me $ 15 more than what they actually told me. And the last straw with this place is that added extra transmission fluid to my car so they could get an extra buck. Very misleading prices and when you have someone who is desperately trying to save money having to pay more than they can afford, you honestly lose not only my business, but my respect.

Always have a great experience. Been here over 10 times in the past 2 yrs with all my vehicles. Eddy and Mike and the boys always take care of me.

Was just in to get an oil change with my $ 18.99 coupon. After filling out their form (I ck’d conventional oil change), I informed Joe that I had a coupon and he insisted on attaching it to my service order. We then discussed what oil I would like. I told him I wanted to use what was recommended by Ford for my car. After some quick typing he flashed several selections on his computer screen and proceeded to tell me that a synthetic blend of ⁵⁄₂₀ was what I needed. He was careful not to mention the price and then tried to sell me a cabin filter as well. I agreed to the oil change but declined his filter recommendation. When he was finished he then told me my bill was $ 52.00! I voiced my disapproval with his price. He knew I had an 18.99 coupon and that was what I expected to pay. He conceded and charged me the coupon price. This kind of «bait and switch» behavior is not appreciated. I will not be back to this Jiffy Lube. Beware of «Fast Talking Joe»!!

The there was no wait when we arrived. Cidney was very helpful and polite.
I declined all additional recommended services except replacing a tag light that I didn’t know was out. He took the declines in stride and didn’t try to force the up sale.
I’ll definitely be back again.

Their MO is to upsell all types of additional services.
May not even be needed, they just claim so.
Beware of this practice.

I came to this location about a week ago, because I was told they had a 19.99 oil change coupon deal. I found the coupon on my phone and showed the young man that greeted me when I first got there. I made sure he was aware of what I wanted. Then when I filled out the paperwork, I wasn’t sure what oil I normally get because my regular mechanic knew what I liked. (He is all the way in bradenton and I recently moved to riverview) I remembered it was synthetic that I usually get so I marked that on the oil options and put «I think» in parenthesis. I wanted the worker to double check with me because I’m obviously not very knowledgable about it since my normal guy is great with it. The worker joked with me about the I think part, then asked if that’s what I want. I said yeah I think so. He never mentioned that it would be a BIG price difference and that the coupon would not be valid but would take off 20 bucks the pricing. Remember I came here thinking I was going to get a 19.99 oil change. When he started to ring me up and told me it would be $ 70, I panicked. I told him how I wanted the deal and he told me the synthetic is a price difference and the oil was already in the car so we couldn’t stop it. If he had mentioned the price BEFORE they did it, knowing how I was confused, we could have avoided it. I would have changed the oil type for sure. I asked for the manager and he offered to take another 10 off but that is all he could do. I was not happy because I would be paying way more than what I went there to pay. He ended up charging me the 21 bucks instead but had a big attitude about it. I know that it was probably a common sense/​stupid mistake on my part, but I honestly think if he just made a quick comment saying «oh the price changes with your choice of synthetic» the whole mishap would have been avoided. I will not be returning to a jiffy lube because of this experience. Back to my regular guy for sure! It’s worth the gas!
