I brought in two vintage audio receivers to A1 for service. Its was $ 55 for ea. to have them look at them and give me a quote for the repairs. At first one of the quotes was reasonable, so I gave the ok to proceed with service. Later they called back saying it was going to be much more. So I declined. Then on the second receiver, after a month, the same thing. They called back to say service was much more then first quoted. The service tech also sounded less than enthusiastic about doing any repairs. After I declined service, he was pushy about me picking it up. He said it took up valuable self space. This thing is shoe box size, yet it needed to be out of his shop asap. So… after spending $ 110, nothing was fixed. Easy money for them.

The sound went out in one of the channels of my Technics 1200 turntable. I was looking for an electronics repair shop in town so I didn’t have to take it across the bridge to Portland.
I found A-​1 through a Google search and called them up. I talked to Dan. Had a really good experience. The fix took about a week.
Dan called me multiple times to let me know the status of things. The issue ended up being a quirky one and he told me that if the sound went out again that he would credit some of what I spent for the repair towards additional work, if needed.
I thought that was pretty cool. Saw him in the store a couple times on the phone and talking to customers. Seems to have a good rapport with his customers and genuinely cares about fixing things.

Two years after purchasing our television, it stopped producing a picture. We contacted A-​1 TV Repair late on a Friday night and someone answered the phone right away. They said to bring it in Saturday and they will check it out.
It took a long time to diagnose the problem but they were able to order the part and fix our television. The cost was reasonable and we were given a loaner TV (not sure if that’s normal but it took close to 2 weeks for diagnosis and repair so I think they felt sorry for us).
5 stars because they are open on Saturdays, your deposit goes toward your end total, reasonable price, easy to contact via phone anytime day or night and ALWAYS courteous and helpful. Thanks guys!
