Has to be the worst restaurant in Vancouver. This place is a rip off for garbage food. You are better off eating at Taco Bell.

I have been eating here for over 30 years!!! It was once called The Burrito House, Cisco’s, and then finally The Taco House. Approximately two years ago, the owner sold the restaurant. Since then– the food is absolutely awful. Probably one step above/below Taco Bell. Rumor has it, this place won’t be open this time next year. Way to go «New Owner»… Your must be a successful businessman. Someday if I open up a business and want to drive it into the ground, I’ll call you! Your parents must be so proud. But then again, take them to Taco Bell because they won’t know the difference!

We came here again to try it again. Still same drab décor and stained walls. Food was overcooked and sub par at the best. My chicken burritos was over cooked and microwaved way to long .lol. Would be funny if I wasn’t paying $ 13.90 for what I would say ‚“shitty food«. Quality was on par with Taco Bell. Sever was ok. Nothing special. We won’t be back. Finally they seem to make there own chips. That’s what the one star is for. New name, still Crappy food Nothing’s Changed

I grew up on eating at Taco House, loving it. But my visit to the Vancouver location was the worst food ever. The chimichanga was very dry, no sauce and the beans and rice were two lumps, reheated under the hot lights. Horrible.

I stopped here for lunch last week and had the cheese and onion enchilada lunch special, which came with red rice, beans and shredded lettuce. All of the food seems to come out of cans, so far as I could tell(well, other than the lettuce). There was some sort of effort to season the rice, I believe with cinnamon, which was strange. The cheese in the enchilada was melted, and the service was adequate, so one star. Over $ 10 for a plate of microwaved canned goods is just not something I enjoy. There’s a lot of signage pushing their margaritas but since it was a quick lunch I did not have one. Perhaps the drinks are good and make you not care about the food, but I won’t be going back to find out.

We’ve eaten here twice and had good meals. The food is delicious and fresh and the service is very, very friendly. I’d go back if… The prices dropped dramatically. $ 18 for nachos? $ 7 guacamole, $ 7 bean dip, $ 15 tacos or fajitas? The food came out very quickly but I’ve never eaten at a sit down Mexican restaurant that charges so much. Ok, a drink will make it easier when the bill comes, right? A lot of places charge $ 7 – 9 for a specialty cocktail, so on the menu it seemed ok… But upon arrival it was a half size cocktail glass, you know, the size you get a well drink from. Usually one that price is at least a tall one… It’s nothing special. If it was the best Mexican food for hundreds of miles, or the only one in that case, well, supply and demand would justify the prices. Thank you for the great service, anyway!

I hate giving a place this low of a rating. but the stars are just for the staff. The place was dark like a cave. reminded me of a seventies lounge. The décor was classic mexican(which I adore) but hard to enjoy in such dim light. My boyfriends mom ordered a burrito plate and the burrito was the width of her fork. no joke. The refried beans were an odd color. appeared burnt(perhaps the dim lighting added to this) and had virtually no flavor. I had hoped they were home made but the flavor was absent. super bland. The staff was attempting to stay on task but seemed overcome by other tasks. A bus boy offered to refill our beverages but then declined saying ’ your server«Bob“will have to get those’. At that time they were hardly full. many open tables inside and out. I understand from my boyfriend that other locations are not this bad. That remains to be seen. I’m not excited to try again. The appetizer chips and salsa were good thank goodness. Cups for drinks were kid size. super odd. My hope is that the owners will step up their game because it’s certainly has potential.

I originally come from CA, so my Mexican food standards are high. I’ve found some good Mexican food here in Southern Washington, and some extremely bad Mexican food. This place is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to food quality. Everything had a very artificial, off taste to it. The kids meal taco came prewrapped in a paper/aluminum wrapper that made it obvious it had been sitting all day in a warmer. The abondigas soup tastes like it was from a can, and the rice tasted like plastic. To make matters worse, the service was terrible. We had probably 4 different servers taking various orders from us and dropping things off. Servers weren’t very friendly and looked like they were just going through the motions. I would steer clear of this place, the food is downright awful. Yes taste is subjective, but anyone who says they enjoy this place does not have any kind of palate and doesn’t know good Mexican food. If you want a nice little bar area to have a beer, then you’re in the clear, but that’s about it.

Skip it! A regular crunchy taco + small chicken enchilada cost a shocking $ 16.95. The meal came with usual rice & beans and small shredded iceberg lettuce and tomato salad. The menu had recently been revised and had to ask server if there was a combo with these two items. My fault for not asking how high a price would be charged for my request. A survey form is given with the bill in hopes you keep your comments internal instead of publicly posting your negative review of their restaurant and price gouging. Definitely a 1-time visit especially with Burrito House at Delta Park being a much more reasonably priced dinner for the exact same flavor.

Not a fan. Ordered the Big Flame. Steak was okay, very weird flavored. Pinto beans tasted too sweet for the dish. Wife couldn’t finish her fish burrito. Paid $ 30 for the whole meal. Probably could have gone to «Muchas Gracias» and enjoyed ourselves much more and paid a lot less.

This food was NOT good. It had no flavor and the rice was not authentic Mexican style rice. I would recommend NOT eating here.

I got chile releno and a chicken enchilada. The chile releno was the size of a pancake, but good luck finding the actual chile. Finally found it at the far side of the dish. The rest was just bread. Seriously? Thought my enchilada would be better, wrong. I cut into it to reveal plain white shredded chicken. I thought a previous review here was kidding but they seriously must just drain a can of chicken and pour it on. Same thing was in my boyfriend’s burritos and on our«nachos». Not even seasoned. Is this real life? The seasoned rice is something I actually laughed at. Literally just rice that they mixed too much enchilada sauce and/or tomato paste into. It’s thick and pastey and too gooey to swallow. No spices, just sludge. I don’t even know how this place is in business. I’m honestly baffled at everything. This place never has any cars in the parking lot and now I know why! Only reason I didn’t ask for my money back is because we got this to go and took it home to eat. Not even worth my time.

When this place was Ciscos it was an awesome Mexican place. Once it was sold to the original taco house, everything went down hill. The Drink sizes got smaller, food portions decreased, and the quality of food turned subpar. The service was slow but they all had awesome attitudes(hence the 3 stars) but the food was nothing special. There’s definitely better Mexican food around town

Everything from a can. Ok YEARS ago I used to go to the location in Gresham. The atmosphere was fun the food was flavorful and of good value. Skip ahead 25 years later. The atmosphere is exactly the same but it tasted like EVERYTHING was out of a can or from Cash & Carry. Warming chips doesn’t mean you made them. My chicken enchilada was canned chicken! Really? Mom liked her burrito but it didn’t come with rice or beans or toppings. She had to ask for those. The menu doesn’t have a standard burrito. Not going back

This place was crap. The service was terrible. The food was worse. Ordered my food with no beans. They couldn’t figure that out. Sent my food back. Jesse the waiter took my plate along with fork back to the kitchen. Brought me my new food and ran off. Never to be seen again. Despite my yelling for him that I’d need a fork to eat my food. Totally ignored me. A fast food Mexican place would have been much better and cheaper. I had to go home from dinner and eat something as my food tasted so bad. Never again.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in with a friend and we both ordered a steak fajita burrito, the burrito came out… The tortilla wasn’t cooked, all they did was shove some steak and«grilled» veggies in there. The steak was weird and chewy? Not real fajita steak, the veggies were probably the best part, but even they were weird and not grilled. The put some generic echilada sauce on top, probably the cheapest one you can find from winco? The chips and salsa weren’t bad though. However, my drink was flat and not carbonated. Skip this place and find another mexican place… I ended up paying $ 36 for something I want to vomit back up as I am typing this.

Margaritas were weak and full of sweet and sour mix. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like canned tomatoes. I left before ordering food because the first impression on drinks and basic chips and salsa were gross. I couldn’t imagine what the food would be. This place needs an intense deep cleaning as well…

This was the worst example of Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Completely bland and in a couple cases, downright scary looking. Service wasn’t stellar either. For entertainment, they had a cheesey magician walking around. That just seemed creepy while I’m trying to eat. You can bet that I won’t be back to this place.

I was incredibly excited to try The Original Taco House. It was a lot of hype about a whole lot of nothing —- I ordered their house special — the classic taco plate with shredded beef. It stayed with me most of the day, yuck. We also tried the fresh guac and sadly they didn’t make it at the table(which was my fault for not asking) –they just made it fresh that day with chunks. Whoo ha. Anyhow — Taco Time is just as good and less expensive. Sorry OTH!
