This park is split into several entrance points and therefore different trails being foot, biking, sporting areas and even camp and picking sites. It offers many unpaved paths along the Miami river and a few paved bike paths. Easy car access and parking areas.

This park is a great place to run, bike, hike, fish, and put your canoe/kayak into the Great Miami. I am here almost daily. The park provides an access point to one of the best bike-trail systems in the United States running all the way north to Troy and south to Dayton where it branches off to Xenia, Hamilton, and Cincinnati. The former town of Tadmor is located just a mile and a half down the trail. It is most gone except for the foundation stones of the old mill. You can see the remnant of the canal almost the entire way. The east side of the park, near the top of the dam, has a wooded, unpaved trail with a 4 – 5 mile hiking/trail running loop that has a great view of the river. Along the way there are some great rock outcroppings, and the opportunity to see deer, heron, woodpeckers, and the occasional eagle. Taylorsville is a great little gem of a park on the north side of Dayton.

BEAUTIFUL!!! This park is huge with lots of trails. The Great Miami River Bikeway makes its way through the park and is wonderful. It is paved and easy to maneuver for walking, running or biking. My running group will often meet here for runs because of the ample parking and presence of the MetroPark employees. Overall, the entire MetroPark system in Dayton is AWESOME. If you haven’t checked out the MetroParks yet you are missing out.
