Came here for brunch on a weekday. The service was ok, not poor but not warm either. The entrees were mediocre, unremarkable, and lacking in taste. The chicken tenders appetizer however was delicious.

No redeeming thing. Bad service, not good food. Saw the waiter 3x… once for drink order, once for food order, then once when I asked for the bill. He was not attentive… No offer of refills, daughter’s coke(canned) order took 20 mins… food took 40 mins. At one point, 30 mins into waiting for food, we contemplated just leaving $ 20 on the table for the drinks and bailing. People sat after us had been served and paid the bill before our food came… but not sure why 2 sandwiches and 2 chicken finger orders would take 40 minutes. Loose dogs are allowed on the patio, so expect to be randomly sniffed/nosed as you sit and wait and wait. Food was pretty mediocre. Ordered a sandwich with salad… salad was wrong(ordered Caesar), but of course since we didn’t see the waiter again for 10 mins… I went ahead and ate it. It looks like this place depends on one time tourist business… because I can’t imagine anyone wanting to go back.

2.5 This place was rather disappointing. The view outside was amazing and we would have sat outdoors had it not been so dreary and cold. Instead we were stuck inside where it was ridiculously loud and clangy and the restaurant was not appeasing to look at. The food was very underwhelming. I tried their most popular item — Austin omelette. It wasn’t bad but it was only okay and I think the minced sausage in the omelette was disappointing — I expected slices. I also didn’t think the flavour of the chicken-Apple sausage and the rest of the ingredients in the Austin omelette like the guacamole and salsa lended itself well as a combination. The drinks were really expensive — my friend ordered supposedly freshly squeezed orange juice for 3.50 that really felt out of a box and another friend ordered the topical ha-ha for 5.50 that really felt like it was just a more expensive and thick Orange juice. They have ½ off prices from 8 – 9 daily and I think if I were to come back to give them another try, I’d go in this time frame else 20 bucks for a subpar meal was not worth it to me.

Food ok but horrible service!!! Servers don’t seem to care about hygiene at all! They don’t clean their premises before seating the next table. We were seated at a corner table and when I got up there was a huge brown stain on my skirt. Apparently there’s two clusters of cocoa powder mixed with some cream on the chair from the last guest. The server didn’t seem to think that it’s her problem at all. She«kindly» offered some sparkly water to dab on the dress and walked away. Didn’t check back since. Of course that’s after we tipped so she doesn’t think it’s necessary to show concern anymore. If you like a diner that doesn’t clean their tables and chairs before seating you go ahead and try this place.

Hey, this is my go-to breakfast and lunch fave. Okay, its not trendy and the service can be spotty(sometimes great, sometimes not) but the food is as good as it ever was; I have been going to the Fig for many years and have never been disappointed. Still love the Navajo corncakes as much as I did at first bite.

This is one of my favorite places for years! Go between 8 — 9 and its 2−4−1 breakfast — Tofu Rancheros =YUM! Plus I love the guy that sings right there — very relaxing. Great spot to meet friends.

Love this place a new favorite! I had the fish tacos and they were delish, but the best part is the Venice ambiance. Simple beach food done well. Awesome outdoor patio adjacent to the action with public valet around the corner. I came late afternoon on a Sunday around 4:30 pm and literally I was seated right away. I’ve heard it’s crowded around the brunch hour. Awesome street singer was perched in front of the restaurant and it added to the experience. Busy but not overly crowded like some of the other bar/restaurants on Venice Beach. Check it out!

The ahi tuna and bloody mary were not the same quality and taste as when we first ate here about 3 years ago. We were disappointed.

I’ve popped in here years ago and did again Sunday. I ended up just getting a red Sangria and eating elsewhere. Service is just not there. The«kid» handing out the silverware onto tables just about had mine on the floor because my phone was in the way. He’s asleep with his eyes open. The menus have seen better days. They’re falling apart. I didn’t have any food this time around simply because I didn’t want to stick around. Male server not attentive. Asked for waters first(dying of dry heat) but that didn’t happen. Dogs allowed on patio The egg dishes did look good though.

Fig tree café is my breakfast place when I go to Venice. The best thing about Fig tree is they offer ½ off breakfast before 10am, so the wife and I are the first ones here after we work out at Gold’s Venice. Our go to breakfast plates are the Greek omelet and nuclear pancakes for me and the chicken hash with scrambled eggs for her. The nuclear pancakes are my favorite. It’s a stack of airy, thin pancakes with a chewy delicious texture with butter spread throughout and of course can’t forget the maple syrup. My wife also got me hooked on the chicken hash. The sliced tomatoes that goes with it make this breakfast plate perfect. They also serve ground work coffee which is my favorite when I come to Venice. This place is right on ocean front walk about five steps away from the beach. They also serve a great lunch and dinner. I’ve had lunch here before in past visits and the turkey sandwich is one of the best I’ve tasted. It’s great to chill here and people watch while sipping your coffee when you’re waiting for your food. Oh and bring a hoody or a sweatshirt bc it’s a little chilly and overcast in the morning.

A great place to sit, eat, & watch the sunset. This was the first stop on our unexpected Los Angeles food tour. We were confused as to if they were open or not because there was no sign & we didn’t see anyone sitting outside(It was cold that day, so I don’t blame them). Someone saw us & told us to come in. I had the capellini with fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic with grilled chicken. I practically cleaned my plate with the exception of the bread. It could’ve done without the plain white bread that was toasted. Everyone kept checking on us to make sure we were fine. Decent food. Great service.

I come here all the time for people watching. It’s great because you can sit next to your dog on the boardwalk and the view is amazing. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre these days, so I wouldn’t recommend it for foodies.

After biking down here from Santa Monica, I was hungry. I ordered the corn cakes with a poached egg on top. I liked that combination, but I am not a fan of beans or feta cheese. I would have asked for less of that if I knew how much they topped it off with. The dish also came with a side green salad, which was pretty healthy. I just wasn’t feeling like salad for breakfast. I also ordered a cappuccino which was tasty, and slightly cheaper than what I would have paid for at Starbucks. We sat outdoors, and got to people watch all the interesting folks of Venice! I also enjoyed the dose of vitamin D that we gained from sitting out in the sun until a bird crapped on our table. If you look up, you’ll notice there are a ton of spikes on the roof to prevent birds from hanging out there, but there’s just too many birds to control. Luckily the bird didn’t crap in our food, and it barely missed my bud! Lucky for us it was at the end of our meal. They have a big menu to choose from. For breakfast they have so many different variations of omelettes and they have this massive baked pancake! It looks like a giant funnel cake! That looks delicious, but deadly. There’s something for everyone ranging from healthy to not so much…

The location is right on the Venice strand. My boyfriend and I walked past and everyone’s food looked great. When we were done walking the pier we decided to give it a try. There is plenty of outside seating but we chose to sit inside since it was fairly cold out. It’s very small inside. It was also very dirty. Old furniture and napkins/trash on the floor. We sat down at a table that had a large paper table cover on it? When they brought us our water my glass had lipstick on it. Hesitantly, we ordered. I got the fettuccine Mediterranean and he got the Mediterranean salad. The only reason there are two stars is because I really enjoyed my pasta. His salad was very good as well. Don’t think it was good enough for me to return though.

Vibe: Chill/busy boardwalk surroundings. Food: Great breakfast options. The Eggs Lulu(scrambled with chicken-apple sausage, spinach, and pesto) is my favorite. Comes with a side of roasted potatoes as well. Enjoy coming here for a lazy Sunday breakfast. Service: There’s usually a brief wait(10 minutes) to be seated. Food is cooked very well and doesn’t take long to come out. Overall: Worth trying for breakfast if you live nearby or are visiting the westside.

Really enjoyed the food and service here. Food came out pretty fast! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, heating lamps and blankets! The service was so nice I can’t even remember who my waiter is to give them the tip! The food was great. I had the garlic chicken pasta. Full of flavor, clean, and presentation was nice. When the food came out they forgot my chicken. So instead of chicken, I asked if I can have the shrimp, they absolutely had no problem at all! Juan had a great personality, he was full of joy. I would absolutely recommend.

We love going to the Figtree for breakfast especially! For us it’s only a bike ride or rollerblade away. I would give it five stars except often times cleaning the sidewalk in front of the Figtree sneaks up on you and/or garbage trucks come by. That is not the fault of the restaurant but it is not good when you get dirt in your food. Fabulous ocean view’s and very entertaining people watching. Also musicians sit out front and you can listen to live music.

We ate there two mornings in row while in the Venice area — and we recognized other people doing the same. Fig Tree serves up a generous breakfast with a terrific view of the boardwalk, local scene and the Pacific Ocean. The have an extensive coffee and tea program — including lattes and chai. The house coffee is good — strong, dark and delicious. Grab a table and mix and mingle with the locals and the visitors — the mix of languages is fabulous. There is patio seating(best view of the action) and indoor seating(take a break from the elements). Their breakfast meats include turkey bacon and apple-chicken sausage. I found an omelette that I adored so I ordered that both mornings — austin’s favorite omelette with chicken-apple sausage, red onions, tomatoes, guacamole, jack cheese + salsa; it’s served with a slice of toast and homemade applesauce and roasted potatoes. I wasn’t crazy about the potatoes but everything else was delicious, super fresh and yummy Hubby had the garden omelette with zucchini, mushrooms, guacamole, red onions, tomatoes, feta, basil, garlic(a side of salsa), toast/applesauce and potatoes. The next morning he had the lox, eggs & onions scramble. Great way to start the day. Friendly service. Freshly prepared food. Coffee and water refilled frequently — with a smile — and the Venice boardwalk happening real-time just off the patio.

Locals recommended this spot so we decided to come for brunch. Very casual, you can just grab a menu & seat yourself anywhere. The servers were also really chill, but attentive & served utensils, drinks & food in a timely manner. My friends ordered the chicken hash(4 stars), Olympian omelette(4 stars), & I tried the pot stickers(5 stars). All the dishes had fresh ingredients, but my friends weren’t blown away with their meals. I actually really liked the potstickers though. The cabbage and tofu gave them a meaty feel & the sauce had a good amount of garlic! The toast came with apple sauce they also make in house. The double cappuccino did it for me, my friend liked his white mocha & the smoothie was refreshing. Satisfying overall and conveniently located near our staycation rental.

We were in the area exploring Venice Beach Boardwalk and got hungry so we decided to check out Figtree. We came as a party of 6 and were quickly seated. They people who worked there were friendly enough, a bit eclectic. Food was«okay». I shared an Asian teriyaki chicken and tofu rice dish. It tasted like a boxed warmed up dinner. We ordered Nachos as an appetizer to split. It tasted like tortilla chips from the store with Kraft single sliced cheese melted on top –__– My cousin had a turkey bacon burger. Zero flavor and chewy bacon. Service itself was decent but wouldn’t return due to food quality.

Great location along the boardwalk. We went in as a party of 7 and had pretty quick service. Mauricio made sure we were taken care of and I am a huge stickler for fresh water and they made sure my water glass was never empty. As for the food, not sure if it was the freshest but they have a huge menu and you can order breakfast anytime so that gives you tons of options. I split a sandwich and it was exactly enough for a meal, I can’t imagine eating the entire turkey avocado sandwich. Not sure if they have French fries as all sandwich came with either a green or Caesar salad and that was alright with me! Overall a great place to take a large group for some Boardwalk food and beers.

Stopped here for lunch after walking around the boardwalk for a bit. There’s nothing really notable to mention as far as service or location; no major complaints or praise and the experience was just fine. The ginger noodles were very good and there were hefty pieces of tofu if you’re into that. The hummus was good and the chicken fingers were pleasantly not breaded. Overall not a bad dining experience.

I recently visited Figtree’s Café on the Venice Beach boardwalk with my fiancé and family. We visited around sunset and sat outside and had a lovely view of the sunset over the beach. Two people in our group got cocktail drinks — they both got the«Balls of Fire» cocktail and it looked pretty interesting. Generous portion. Overall, this café has the laid back Venice Beach vibe and I liked the outdoor seating. They also provide blankets to those who are cold, but my fiancé and I absolutely refused — the blanket looked filthy. Do they even wash them before offering them to future guests? Either way, nice place to view the sunset and the drinks were good but not sure if I’d want to eat here in the future.
