We had fun in-spite of the crappy service. My husband and I just stopped in for a drink, and to watch the sunset. We got a spot on the nice porch, the views are spectacular! The drinks were excellent(Manhattan and a Long Island iced tea) however, our server was very inattentive and apathetic toward us. I expect more when paying $ 15 for a drink.

Found Fins at Sharky’s within minutes of arriving for first time in Venice The food is FINtastic I returned the next 2 afternoons for great food, witty banter, great conversations and relaxing n tranquil times by the Gulf The Happy Hour is a great deal with variety for everyone It is one of the best places to eat and watch the sunset on along the Gulf and by the Pier Beautiful interior and exterior with extensive upper deck to watch Gulf and sunsets I appreciate the décor, atmosphere and relaxing setting I had great conversations, laughter, amazing sunsets and delicious food presented in ways to delight senses I loved the way the staff treated me like a Regular I created a «Crab Roll» using their scrumptious crab salad and Frocia Bread. Several guests and staff commented how yummy it looked and it was! John is a great Bartender and Server! The Salmon from Faroe Island in Scotland is excellent! Sushi was very good as well Owner and Manager are friendly and keep things on even keel while watching Guests and sunsets

Fin’s at Sharky’s-by-the-pier is a waterfront restaurant that is more formal dining experience than that of it’s neighbor. It has a beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico, especially when the sun is setting. This, combined with the fine food and service, makes a romantic sunset dining experience. I had the Cobia, and my wife had the Filet. Both were delicious, well prepared, and nicely presented. Our server was, friendly and efficient.

Mediocre service. Too busy of attitude all throughout staff from bar to hostesses to servers. Fair food. The big deal here is the view if you get one after a long wait and that you’re on a nice beach. Worth a date night but odds are you neither of you will be amazed. Set expectations low.

Bar servers are much improved over the past year. Drinks were good. Our appetizers were good. Happy hour prices were good. An of course the view of the water is amazing…

Wonderful menu. Spectacular views of the bay and sunsets. Great specialty drinks. Worth the price. It’s that special restaurant Venice has been lacking.

The best restaurant from Punta Gorda to North Port, Englewood and the Venice area! Whenever we have a special occasion to celebrate we go out to Fins. Beautiful location great atmosphere. Servers are polite. Wait time is not to long. Food is delicious. Restaurant is stylish and clean. Fun place to get fancy and have a wonderful dinner. Yes, it is pricey! Go there to watch the sunset and you will guaranteed to fall in love with Fins! Can’t wait to go back.

One of the best restaurants in Venice by far. We actually went here twice in a week while we were on vacation(with my family and girlfriend) and we loved it. Come here around sunset time(6:30−7:00) and you will love it! Whether you sit outside or inside with a view. Our waitress the first time was amazing her name was Lauren — she knew the menu fabulously and has worked there a long time so she helped us pick the best things to feast on. The surf and turf sushi roll($ 25 a bit expensive) but is absolutely a must for sushi lovers. My girlfriend and I also had the Surf and Turf entrée,(filet mignon and lobster tail) to share, and it was fantastic. Overall the experience was excellent.

Great view — especially if you can catch the sunset. The food was very good — not great. The dessert was outstanding. I would rate it a 3.5 if that was an option. The waiter brought me a virgin drink with alcohol in it — that could have been very very bad. I just order water now.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Fins! We originally came expecting to eat at Sharkys, but the wait was so long and the host at Fins told us we could walk right in and get outdoor seating. Our salads were a little late coming out, so the manager took them off of our bill and let us pick out two deserts to share with the table. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the crab cake sandwhich. We would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

Almost two years later, and roughly 5 – 6 visits to Fins, I’m happy to post a very different review. While the ambiance, view, and physical appeal of the restaurant remain outstanding, the planning and execution of the diverse menu and consistent service have vastly improved. Bravo! Love that Fins is now open for lunch 12 – 2:30, the deck open for cocktails and sushi all day, and the dining room opens at 4:307 days a week.(Call to check seasonality). Love the flexibility of ordering small plates($ 7 – 14), sushi/sashimi($ 9 – 33), salads and sandwiches($ 10 – 17), or full meals including fresh fish as well as selections from the Jospa grill. Ask your server to describe what this is, but whatever you order will turn out remarkably seasoned and moist. I personally recommend any of the organic beef offerings(don’t be afraid because of the restaurant name!). The local catches prepared this way are incredible as well. I’ve recently sampled mahi, snapper, and tho-not-local Chilean Sea Bass, and all were delicious. Taste the fresh. The apple and Gouda salad, lobster nachos, fish tacos, and Too Much Tuna platter are favorites. Bring a few friends and sample several! Wines by the glass list is extensive, as are your servers’ recommendations. Hats off to Fins! My «must-go-to“with out-of-town guests, and my «off-season-twice-a-month-treat!» P. s. Ask for Jessica serving outside if she’s available.

Came for lunch and as Sharky’s had a 45 min wait, we headed for the fancier Finns, which is directly upstairs with a view of the beach and Venice pier. I’d give them a 3 ½ but Unilocal has yet to create the elusive half stars. The service started out extremely slow. We had our menus for at least 15 min before a server finally said she’d be with us shortly. We were seated on the outside patio and they had heaters but it was still a bit chilly. Once our server appeared, she did a fine job tending to our needs. I ordered a warm lobster roll with sweet potato fries and while it was tasty, it wasn’t really warm. Price wise, it’s a bit up there, but expected with waterfront views. Others ordered sushi and was nicely presented and enjoyed. The ambience was beachy, though I wouldn’t call it your typical fine dining. All in all, it’s touristy and very popular so expect waits, especially closer to sunsets. The views are worth a trip.

Happy hour on the back patio is beyond perfect! View is stunningly breath taking… Lobster nachos & chardonnay… flatbread & grilled brie wedge! Not a fan of the sushi, rather have Kumo off the island! Service is prompt and friendly, very knowledgeable wines are eclectic and refreshing! Love all the items from Michigan on the menu… Home sweet home!

We were a little disappointed. 1 – 1 ½ hour wait for Sharkys so we chose Fins. Nicely appointed, good service, good view of the beach and pier but pricy. I had the Grouper sandwich which was very small. Guess you’re paying for the real estate here. If we go back, it will be a week day, early and going for open seating on the pier level bar seating.

We originally intended to go to Sharkey’s, however upon arrival there was an hour wait for lunch. The hostess suggested Fins upstairs which had no wait. By far my favorite restaurant we had on vacation. The view was amazing, service was wonderful, and food was delicious! We tried the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and crab cake sandwich… we give the food a 9 out of 10! I highly recommend Fins at Sharkeys!

Location. Location. Location. Come for the location. Right on the beach with a great view of the long pier. The restaurant is closed from 2:30−4. There’s seating in the upper patio where you can get Happy Hour drinks and appetizers with waiter service. There’s also a lower patio bar offering the same but we were more comfortable up top. Recommend reservations. They accommodated us and sat us on balcony off the railing. The hostess was so nice. My friend was charging her phone on the patio and she forgot it. The hostess offered to take it to the hostess stand and charge it for her. I had the stone crab legs served cold which included veggies and mashed potatoes. My friend had a steak. Had a taste, it was fantastic! Can’t beat the view, stay for dinner. You won’t be disappointed!

First time here and will definitely return. Our server Amy was very attentive. Started w/the lobster nachos and calamari appetizers, delicious. For my entrée, I had the salmon w/mushroom sauce which was good, but after seeing the sushi plates delivered to the table, I was sorry I didn’t order it. Ended the evening with the coconut key lime Crème brûlée, which was great. A fine dining experience. Also, if you want to see the most beautiful sunset ever, get here early enough to.

This place was absolutely amazing! First, the view is to die for. Come at sunset and you will not be disappointed. Second the service was perfect. Everyone was very attentive, from the owner to the busboy. Finally, and most important, the food was phenomenal! Fins has 5 star chefs and it shows. The fish was perfectly cooked. The sauces were amazing. This is quality food prepared by quality chefs.
