This place was ok. Wasn’t tickled pink by the customer service. Our waitress hardly ever came to refill drinks. Hardly checked on us to see if the food as ok. It wasn’t a good experience. Everything I ordered ended up being gross however I went with someone here and their food was really good! I wouldn’t come back. At least for the food I was attempting to eat.

We read the reviews and decided to give this restaurant a try. The food was less than average. The fish was overcooked and flavorless, and even the key lime pie was flavorless. The buffalo shrimp were good, but the salad was bland.

I paid for Peel and Eat Shrimp. They were good. But, I came to realize that I ordered too many. So, I wanted to take the rest home. The waitress said that it wasn’t allowed because the Peel and Eat were a special of the day. That didn’t make sense to me. This wasn’t an all you can eat meal. This was a plate of shrimp that I paid for. But, I said OK then I want to take the salad home instead and the waitress said«I know what you’re doing. You’re just going to sneak the shrimp out with the salad». She actually accused me of being dishonest after we spent $ 150 on the meal. We called the manager over and the manager backed her up. What is happening at Left Coast Seafood, a place that we’ve gone to many times and enjoyed it.

Memorial Day weekend and we wanted seafood and we were not disappointed. 4 adults and 4 kids and we all ate heartily! Thank you for a good night, bon appetite.

Great Place for a good Seafood Dinner! We were a table of 8, with 4 kids and service was good and very attentive. Had an excellent menu, with lots of great choices. We had the Lobster Nacho’s, yummy! Plus everything from scallops, lobster, clam, and kids items, and all very good. Sandy was excellent! Great Choice for a night out for a great meal!

I’m shocked that this place only gets 3.5 stars. Left Coast is an excellent eatery with good prices and excellent food. The seafood is always well prepared and never over cooked. they have a great variety of dishes. One of the most diverse selections of seafood dishes around. The atmosphere is very nice and casual. The service is always good. I just don’t know what’s not to like about this place except for the sometimes long wait for a table, but I can’t fault them for being popular.

Always good food and service. Have hosted large groups for private parties and we were very pleased. Unilocal listing is incorrect regarding reservations. You can only call ahead for a wait list.

We finally got to try this place last night and we were very satisfied. I ordered the Left coast Grouper and my boyfriend ordered chicken stir fry(I know at a seafood place right) I was pleasantly surprised. The grouper was cooked perfectly, it had a very nicely done golden brown pan sear with a homemade hollandaise sauce, topped with shrimp. I have grown up eating fresh sea food and can spot frozen a mile away. I can honestly say neither of these tasted like they had been anywhere close to a freezer. It came with a choice of two sides and out of habit in my opinion the best thing to go with fish seems to be red potatoes(with butter and sour cream of course) and coleslaw. We had shared an appetizer so I was only able to eat half and took the rest home. I enjoyed it the next day which I do rarely because leftovers from restaurants never seem to heat up right the next day. It was excellent, it might of even been better then it was when I ordered it there. My boyfriends was also very good for being stir fry at a sea food place. I snuck a few bites of his in and was also very pleasantly surprised, so much flavor. I do not eat at chain restaurants, I myself cook a lot and find it very hard to find places where I can find good home made food. This place will be one of a select few that have made my list. Thank you Left Coast Seafood for the great food and good service!

We walked in at 8:15pm(they close at 9pm), still service is good. Good seafood. However, portion is small. With no soup and salad bar(like offered at Landy’s on the Water), my son walked out looking for a burger. A bigger portion would have earned them a 5 star.

I would probably be giving Left Coast 5 stars if it had a waterfront view. That’s about the only thing that was missing. I visited last week, while on vacation. I’m from the Northeast, so good Grouper is something I always look for when I’m in the South. Left Coast really delivered! Also, they have the largest selection of Grouper dishes I’ve seen on one menu(I counted 9 choices). My dinner was a special(Grouper Oscar), in addition to the menu choices. Grouper, topped with Crabmeat, Hollandaise, & Asparagus-outstanding. I also selected their delicious Hush Puppies as one of my sides(another item not available here in the Northeast). A great meal, at what I thought was a very fair price. I also want to mention my server, Samantha. She has a lovely personality, and also provided me top notch service throughout the meal. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. I look forward to returning to Left Coast the next time I’m in the Venice area.

Tried this restaurant because of the sign for whole belly clams. They said they were from Ipswich. I consider myself very picky, and these clams were perfectly cooked, no grit, and delicious. Another added benefit were the fried onion rings which were perfect. Service was excellent and price was more than fair for what you received. Will be back soon

My friend and I made a second trip to Left Coast today. On our first visit we ordered the seafood pot. It came with oysters and an oyster knife to shuck them yourself. personally, I would prefer to not work at shucking my own oysters so on our second trip I requested of our waitress,(who already seemed annoyed when she came to our table), to have the oysters shucked for us. We each ordered soup, clam and fish chowder. They were rather boring and bland. My friend requested fried oysters which were not in the menu but the kitchen honored the request. They were served with 6 minuscule and poorly fried oysters and a slice of lemon. First bite yielded breading with no oyster. No dipping sauce, not even a sprig of parsley. We sent them back. 5 min later a man comes to the table with the plate of oysters we sent back; stating he ate 4 and they were fine. Then asked whet was wrong with them? When asked who he was, he replied,“the oyster man”, when in fact we found out later, he was the owner. The oysters were shucked in the seafood pot but the overall entrée was sub par. The broth was good but needed some bread to soak it up with. Our waitress seemed to lose the attitude as the meal went on but first the impression lingered in our minds. If I’m ever considering a $ 40 lunch, it will not be at Left Coast

I did not want to try this restaurant. I’m allergic to shell fish and didn’t think they’d really have anything to offer that I would like. I was oh so wrong. This place is great. The fish chowder, which I can eat, has become my favorite thing ever. I go out of my way to get it each time we’re in Venice. The service is good but be warned you really need to get there early or very late. The 5 – 7 crowd is insane and you could end up waiting quite a while. In case you’re wondering, it’s well worth the wait.

I loved the seafood casserole! Everything was good from the salad to the hush puppies. Can’t believe it took so long to try it, can’t wait to go back.

I really wanted to like this place, but food quality was my deciding factor. The staff was friendly and the server was helpful and nice. The décor, was what one would expect close to the beaches. The menu is fair but as fat as portions I believed was a bit pricey. I had a shrimp sampler, the grilled shrimp tasted like it was flash frozen and grilled, had no flavor and limp. The stuffed shrimp had a little crab meat on it covered in a hollandaise sauce that was flavorless as well. The coconut shrimp which was deep fried wasn’t bad. Came with a choice of 2 sides… I elected on salad and fries which were just okay. My kids had the shrimp skewers and my wife had crab cakes and a lobster roll. Not very good. I think their menu is way too much for the cooks to handle and the thought of not using fresh seafood when you are so close to the ocean makes this place worse than it could and should be. I’m disappointed. I wish my family and I had a better experience.

One of the worst servers I’ve met, Charla. Obviously had left her personality at home, offered no information about their daily specials or the additional menu with early bird specials. Seemed we were an inconvenience to her afternoon(4:40pm), and the restaurant had a total of 5 patrons — though it had sooo many employees they were stumbling all over each other. Charla dropped off GINORMOUS bottles of tarter/cocktail sauce. Really, how fresh can tarter and cocktail sauce be when stored in gigantic squeeze bottles?! Do they really just add new sauce to the old — leaving the old stuff on the bottom to rot??? Though the food was just okay, it wasn’t anything special. Another disappointing excuse for a restaurant in the area.

I went last night for dinner and ordered a dozen fresh oysters and grilled Mahi Mahi. The oysters were fresh but each and everyone had pieces of shell on it. The Mahi Mahi was just awful, thin slice, over cooked, very dry. Side of coleslaw wasn’t good either, too much mayo and celery. This is no fancy place! Dinner salad gets served in those little wooden bowls, cocktail and tartar sauce in big squeeze bottles, cafeteria style. Yet the place is busy and seems to be popular with the 70+ crowd. I was very disappointed, worst seafood I’ve had in the area.

I give them a 5 star because overall you can’t beat the food for the price. I eat there often. I once sent back the Ahi Tuna because it wasn’t rare as ordered. No problem, they fixed it. I usually sit at the bar to eat. The prices are very reasonable but the place seems to be always crowded. Prices have been going up as the area population has been enlarging.

While visiting my parents in the area, my wife and I opted to stay at a hotel for the week while the house was full of other out of town guests. Left Coast Seafood was almost next door to our hotel, so seemed a great place to stop in for lunch after leaving for the airport before 5am and in need of a good meal. We came in just before noon on Saturday, and there were a few tables with people, but not empty. We were welcomed and given a decent table which was clean and quiet — it looks like it can get noisy here with a large room and lots of tables. As we were there, more people came in and the place started to fill up with a lunch crowd. Noise went up, but still was decent. The menu’s were a little greasy, but not too bad considering. Could be cleaner since people probably hadn’t yet eaten when they used them. I tried the Shrimp Burger just to get something different, and it was actually fairly good. It was a nice size, was well made and hot, and came with a tasty sauce on the side and very good chips which tasted house made. My wife tried the Fish Taco’s, and they were decent. A fair amount of fish, and nice flavor. Service was fair, at best. Our server came by on occasion, and was courteous, though not particularly friendly. When we received our drinks, my glass had a crack in the bottom, leaking water across the table. It took quite a while to get her attention so she could replace it, and the puddle was fairly large even using all our napkins. The food came fairly promptly and she did come by to ask how our meal was — before I had a chance to take a bite. Then, it was a while before she checked again when we were already looking to pay. Overall, the experience was decent, but not great. I’ve heard very good things about Left Coast, but most seemed to be from their old location. I’m not sure what changed, but it seems I’m not alone in having a mediocre experience here. Is there a trend in Venice area restaurants to let things go when it’s not Spring Break?

We went into Left Coast at 8pm. Most of the greying crowd had disappeared. 4 years ago, we used to spend every Wednesday at the old location eating oysters and drinking«shrimp bloody marys». We ordered the same this evening. The Oysters were great, fresh and cold. The bloody Mary’s came in glasses which seemed ½ the size of what we used to get. They were stuffed with 3 large shrimp, 2 large olives & ice. So far, this is what we used to get. So, was there less Bloody Mary mix? Less vodka? I really don’t know but, I FELT cheated. I went to the bartender to lodge my concerns and, guess what? She wasn’t concerned ATALL. I guess the moral is: perception is reality. Put it in a bigger glass and pour a little more tomato juice. Also, be concerned if a customer actually takes his time to vocalize a complaint. Most people don’t vocalize — they just don’t come back. Be a while before we return.
