When the other day for happy hour, the weather was beautiful and the food was great. Our server seemed to be in a bit of a rush. She dropped our check and didn’t come back even though we weren’t quite finished. I would’ve stayed and enjoy a few more happy hour beverages but she said she worked a double and had to go on a break.

Three of us stopped in after a bike ride. First, the food was cold, took forever to get the meal even though there were very few people in the restaurant except a large staff AND, not really impressed with the quality or taste for the price. I eat all the time at the one on Siesta Key and the difference was drastic. I was really sorry I recommended this place to my friends.

Food was good. Drinks good. Place was kind of empty, but I did come in at an off time. Staff was friendly.

We can bring our puppy and enjoy a glass of chardonnay, mussels and grouper sandwich over looking the marina watching shore birds & pelicans… just like heaven. Service is prompt and friendly!

My self, Husband, Mom and Sister had a great evening. Lobster roll(not my first, and I’m pretty picky) fried shrimp, grilled scallops, Edamame and shrimp salad were all delicious. The service was prompt and courteous. The errant nephew of the owner was friendly and funny. Casual atmosphere. My margarita came in a fishbowl! They had my mom’s favorite gin(trust me, that is important). Not a single false note. I look forward to my next visit. P. S. parking is adjacent and plentiful.

Hayley was a great server! She was extremely knowledgable of the menu and had a great bubbly attitude. All of the drinks were delicious– personally love the spin on the piña colada they created into a key lime pie. The lobster roll had large whole pieces, it was delicious!

I am completely amazed by this place! The food is wonderful. Fresh made and tastes great. Authentic fish n chips plus their famous Loaded Salty Dog is to die for! Emily, our server was attentive and on point with the service. Timely delivery of our drinks and food and stopped by just to check to see that everything was up to scratch. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a good meal and a fair price. If there was one thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star review would be the parking. It is a bit of a walk across the boat parking lot to go eat. Don’t let that stop you from coming. A few extra steps is total worth it!!!

Don’t go their for the seafood-not that good. Go for the ambiance and the Old Salty dog beer battered hot dog!

I’m not sure this little text box has enough room to say enough amazing things about this place but — Dammit — I will try! Firstly, the view of the Marina is gorgeous. If you store your boat at MarineMax, you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t have to walk all the way around the building to get back to the bar; just cut through the out-door seating and have one of the bar-tenders put your drink in something plastic so you can go back-and-forth(two words: GODSEND — Am I right or am I right?). I’m also reeeeal picky about atmosphere; I like a delicate mix between an old-Florida vibe, a clean & contemporary, upbeat setting and a hole-in-the-wall/family owned kind of coziness. Spoiler alert, this place delivers on all of those things(And they’re actually a multi-location franchise… Say whaaaat!?)! Aside from the pleasantries of just being there — The food? They knock it out of the park every time! If you’re anything like me, frugal and obsessed with awesome quality food, you will not be disappointed. This might be the first place I’ve been to that hasn’t completely botched my surf-and-turf. Last time I went I got a steak cooked medium and sushi grade scallops with the parsley potatoes and veggies — Sweet mother of Pearl… I have dreams about that meal sometimes! Aaaand what the HELL is the point of going out if you aren’t going to let loose and have a few cocktails? Well, yet again, they get an A+ I am a purist: Gin, tonic, extra limes, tall glass. It might sound like a hard drink to muddle up, but buddy, you would be amazed(Have you ever drank watered-down gin straight? Have you ever tried to drink warm tonic water on it’s own?! I think you get the picture)… I’ve only been served by Brie and Beck(ie?)y(both are gorgeous, hilarious sweethearts BTW) and they ALWAYS nail it! It also helps that my fiancé works at MarineMax next door… Gotta love that discount! Hehehe… I’ve talked to quite a few of their employees(although the man is the real social butterfly between the two of us), and they’re all really cool people who genuinely want to make your experience fun and relaxed. Let me make this«stupid simple» for you: After work today, run home and throw some comfy clothes & flip flops on, drive your happy ass down to the Old Salty Dog, order their deep fried hot dog things(trust me) & a cocktail, ask to sit at the part of the bar that is outside and enjoy an awesome end to your Friday! If you’re disappointed… Well, you’re wrong.

WHAT A NEATDISCOVERY — close to home!!! My friend and I thought we would try this place out for lunch and were not disappointed. Service from Annmarie with a smile — food was excellent — we will DEFINITELY be back — once the word is out, this place is going to be hopping — take advantage of it now before the snowbirds return!!! I had the Chef Salad(great!) and my friend had the special of the day Fish tacos and they looked so yummy, I will just have to order them next time. Bruce, the owner/manager was quite hospitable and I certainly hope that this visit was not a fluke, that they keep up the good work. Loved it!

A new location in Venice of a 28 year old restaurant in Siesta Key. it was built into the old show room of Marine Max with an addition of a large deck in the rear overlooking the marina just before the Circus Bridge. this is my second visit(lunch and dinner). The food is OK — not great. Fried fish, shrimp, oysters were over battered and over fried — more breading than fish. Snow Crab was also just OK — hard to ruin a boiled crab leg. The sides were unimaginative and rather bland. The drinks were large and good, but expensive. The bill for two adults and a child was over $ 100.00 with tip. Service was attentive. The manager stopped by — a good sign. The location is interesting with the marina view and all, but they need a lot of work on the menu and the food preparation. Without the location, I’d have given it only 2 stars. The seem to pride themselves on being«British»(Fish & Chips), but remember that the British are world famous for Bad Food! Let’s hope they get a Florida Chief, and a West Coast Menu.
