For whatever reason, there’s a shortage of ice cream shops on the Gulf Coast near Venice.
Every year, I’ve looked high and low for places to get some ice cream with my kids and haven’t had much success.
Enter Scoops.
It’s tucked away in a strip mall, and doesn’t get any points for aesthetics, but the ice cream’s homemade, and there’s a great assortment of toppings to boot.
I still dream of the small ice cream stands peddling fresh homemade ice cream with all sorts of unique flavors that dot the North Shore of Boston. Make no mistake, Scoops certainly doesn’t compare to those.
That being said, if you’re near Venice/Sarasota and are looking for something other than Baskin-Robbins, give Scoops a chance.
