Venice’s true gem! Lance, and his team, are the best. Always a smile and always ready to help. I would never consider buying a bike or having work done on one by anyone else. Honest, great workmanship, and talk about service with a smile. This is the place.

Lance quite literally is the bike whisperer. I came across a vintage Schwinn that needed some tlc and new tubes and tyres. He helped fix it up and even cleaned off the years of rust build up and I pretty much received a brand new bike for a really decent price.

I bought a new bicycle online (a dutch style Papillionaire Classic — great bike!) and had it shipped directly to Lance. He assembled it in no time for a very reasonable price and soon I was enjoying beautiful rides along the beach bike path. A couple of months later, when I felt a gear was slipping a bit I brought it in and he fixed it quickly free of charge. This guy is the man! Would highly recommend his services.

Lance knows what he’s talking about and making sure the customer is happy is his number one concern. We even get a free tuneup after 60 days. Simply put, he’s the best!

Friendly service, knowledgable. Parts can be a little expensive, but the quality of the works is pretty good. There was a minor miss-​adjustment of the gears on my road bike, but all other service was performed perfectly.

Great guy, great service. Fast maintenance on my bike (1 day). Chatted with him about my bike and my options in the future. No salesman tactics, not pushy at all, just down to earth and super knowledgeable about all things bike related. Also got some great relationship advice from him as well, go figure! We were greeted with a big smile and a warm hello. Lance is a knowledgeable person and I like working with people who really enjoy what they do… and that passion translates to the great service. My wife and I went to take a look at some bikes and ended up purchasing a bike that fit our needs. Lance provided great advice and was extremely patient. While we were there, other people came by just to say Hi and you can see this place is a place with repeat customers. We ended up going to pick up one of our bikes to get serviced as well. I highly recommend this place for servicing and purchasing a bike that fits your needs. We try to purchase local and glad we found this treasure.

No, your navigation app isn’t making a mistake: The Bicycle Whisper «shop» is a giant white tent in a residential ally in Venice. Don’t worry. You’re not going to get kidnapped by a crazy bike person. Just park your car next to the big white tent and relax. Your bicycle needs will soon be met.
The owner, Lance, has so much fun with life! Every time I see him he makes me laugh. Great sense of humor! People/​businesses like The Bicycle Whisperer make communities special, unique. He loves what he does and you know it right away. I always go to him for all my bike needs. He fixes things fast and well. Even when my bike is fine I’ll drop by and say, Hi. It’s one of those type of places.

This guy probably the best bike seller. He is nice to new biker. He is honest and tells you everything about the industry. I just bought the Corsa bike for decent price. He let us try different bikes and adjusted sit. He will give us 60days free tune up. I recommend to come to his store first if you are looking for a bike.

Was just here a few days ago and I can’t say enough about how great these guys are! Lance helped me pick out a bike and gave me some directions to the beach. Nothing beats a nice bike ride down Venice on a sunny day! It was a great workout. I was able to stop by the Google (binoculars) building and Snapchat HQ too! It’s right down the street from this bike shop.
The location is great, price is fantastic and service is top shelf.

Finally I found a bike repair shop I can trust and rely on. I went to get my flat tire repaired and it cost me $ 15 and took about 10 minutes. He also made sure that it wasn’t just a flat tire so I don’t change the tire for no reason. Really appreciated that. He definitely has a customer for life with me. You can tell he’s passionate about bikes and will take great care of yours.

Lance is amazing. This guy is a master at his trade and just a really nice guy to boot. He will treat you right and probably make you laugh your ass off at the same time. Just go there and stop thinking about any one else.

I did some major damage to the rear derailer hanger, they repaired my Marin bike and it was very reasonably priced.

Lance is absolutely wonderful! He has restored my faith in genuine customer service!
When it came time to pick up my bikes I informed him how I would need to take an Über there and then ride it home since I didn’t have a vehicle large enough. Without any questions he offered to deliver them for a small fee. No other bike shops around town would even consider doing that! I was so grateful as he saved me time and a huge hassle. He helped me determine the best lock and even assisted in bringing them into the garage.
If you are looking for a bike, repairs or someone to put your already purchased bike together, GO TO LANCE! I didn’t realize he sold beautiful quality bikes as well or I would have purchased one directly from his shop. Will be getting my next bicycle and all future repairs done here:).

This Man truly IS The Bike Whisperer! Rarely, it seems these days that you can find people who genuinely Love what they do, and are Blessed to Do what they Love. Lance is one of those fortunate ones.
I had to get a tune-​up on my bike for safety reasons due to its having lied dormant for awhile. I phoned him based on Unilocal reviews, and basically from the moment he answered the phone, his expertise & enthusiasm took over.
I explained my situation, he asked my location, and within 15 minutes, he appeared! He secured «Her» (I love that he referred to my Bike in the 3^rd person Female tense) on the back of his pickup, told me what he was going to do, and gave me an estimate that he didn’t stray from, and off he went!
He was so efficient that he promised to have «Her» back safe & sound later on that day! Due to my schedule, that wasn’t feasible for me, but did he say: «Well, you’ll just have to come by the shop then whenever you’re free & pick her up»… NOOoooo!
Instead, he got my schedule availability & brought Her back, safe & sound, tuned up, and ready to RIDE! I also truly appreciated that he had me remove my little accessories before transport (basket, tassels, etc) because as he put it, «I have so many parts in my workshop that I’d hate to have them get lost in the shuffle or you get the wrong items back.» How very SWEET!

Omg… miracle workers! They brought my original 1972 varsity schwinn bike back to life! Keeping all my original parts they were able to remove the rust from the wheels, pedals, replace the brakes, installed new tires and tube, replaced the cables, and tuned it up. It rides just like the first day I got it.
Lance and his fellow helpers are great. They are professional, friendly, hard working, and honest (a very rare quality). They completed all the repairs as scheduled and called me when it was complete. They now have my business. I have two other bikes that need resuscitation. I’m taking them to Lance and company!
