A great disappointment. I am very sad to say my review isn’t from actual experience in the winery. I called Blendz Winery to ask about business hours and to let them know my friend was planning to propose there on Valentine’s Day. I was told«Great, come on down. It’ll be busy that day, we’ll have lots of fun.» So you can imagine my surprise when we show up and it’s closed. Luckily Four Brix Winery was open and we were able to go there and enjoy some love and wine. We picked Blendz because they were boasting the Rock n Roll vibe we were looking for. Now we’ll never know.

At the end of our 4th tour of the Ventura Wine Trail, we have now tasted at every tasting room. Blendz is the newest tasting room and while I am sure it will do well, it isn’t one of our favorite places for wine. But wine is very personal and I would still recommend going to any Unilocaler, as your wine pallette may enjoy. The tasting room itself is done very well and their wine labels reflect the genres motif.

The atmosphere and décor has a 60s and 70s feel which is exactly what they are going for, also most of the décor was created with imagination. Tom and sandy make the place very comfortable. Now for the wines. I was not familiar with wine blends, but I was pleasantly surprised how good their wines were. They do a good job with balancing the wines and they have created wines that can be paired with food or by themselves. I was so impressed that I joined their«groupie» wine club which is extremely reasonable at 2 bottles 3 times a year.

This is a winery. They have wine tastings, sell wine by the glass, and they have a wine club. They have classic music playing and they, Tom & Sandy, are ever so friendly. Join their wine club for free and you are a groupie. Groupies attend 3 pick up parties a year! Groupies receive 15% discount on wines and they get free wine tastings. Tom & Sandy are cool, sociable, down to Earth, ambassadors of wine, knowledge, and FoodShare. Sandy designs the cool rock wine labels. Her passion is evident. Please see pictures. Wine Tasting is only $ 10 each. With the Axxess book, you can get 2 for 1 tastings. Tom & Sandy host a radio show on 1590AM on Saturday AM from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. The show emphasizes what to do in the 805. They are located on Eastman Ave. right across from Four Brix. Hubby & I had an amazing time. We will be back. Feel free to ask Tom for rock trivia. «What I know, I want to share. What I don’t know, I want to learn.» Well said, Tom.

Blendz is a great place to start your wine tasting. It’s décor is from the 60’s &70’s and looks great. I thinks it’s very cool that the labels are all designed by Sandy, one of the owners. I loved seeing her paintings on the wall. It’s always a fantastic experience visiting this tasting room! I highly suggest making a trip to Blendz Winery!
