Looks like a cool place. More casual bar setting than I had imagined

Stopped in for a Saturday evening glass of wine. Was really impressed with this place! If you need little get a way and want a glass of wine, great live jazz and hang out with some really cool people, this is the place. They have a great selection of wine, the prices are comparable to any other location in town and the feel of the place is like no other. I really enjoyed my evening here.

A great little hidden gem! What a nice surprise to find a great hole-in-the-wall jazz bar right here on Main street. Just moved here from Chicago, and it’s great to find some quality local culture… the music is top notch, and the wine is pretty decent(great prices as well). Pleased as punch to have this place within walking distance!

Adam is an amazing host! The bar is great! Great atmosphere and the live music was really good! The wine was amazing! He gave us a wine tasting and was very knowledgeable about all the wines! And the sangria was to die for! I highly suggest this place!

Really great and vibey hang out. Top jazz and cool staff who really know their stuff. Wine selection is ok but good for the price. Too bad they do not have food on the premises but they make up for it in the great music. Worth the drive up here!

This is the place to go for live jazz. Our local Ventura County and LA musicians come here to play to an ever appreciative audience. Adam and Josh consistently bring in the best music and create a comfortable atmosphere where one can meet with friends, enjoy some fine house made wines and hear great music. food is available. pizzas, sandwiches and salads.

Its ok. The music is wonderful but the wine is house made and mediocre at best. The owner was very nice and made you comfortable. No food service except from a pizza place down the street.

Fantastic place to enjoy great music, fine wine and excellent food with a sophisticated and fun group of people. The atmosphere and ambiance is something to be desired. We were surprised at how reasonable the cost is for everything and the service is outstanding. Adam went out of his way to get us extra food to take home with us when everything was all but closed up. Thank you for the great time and we plan to go back soon. Tony & Teri

What a gem! Our favorite place to listen to some world class jazz music in an intimate setting and enjoy some great wines. We packed a picnic last night and ate it at our table paired with some of their great wine(their Syrah us our favorite) made by Adam and Josh then listened to, by far, the best jazz ensemble my wife and I have ever seen live.

I was in town for business and a co-worker suggested this place on an open mic night. I’m glad we took his suggestion. This place is great! Laid back vibe. Great music. Good times. Will definitely be going back if I return to the area.

It was an «off night» but we still enjoyed live jazz. They have a selection of their own wine as well as catered Italian food. Seeming as there isn’t much live jazz in Ventura, I’d say this is a gem.

Love this place! Top notch music and great wine at affordable prices. Very relaxing, intimate atmosphere. Haven’t tried the pizzas I see great reviews about, but completely enjoyed an Eggplant Parm sandwich that my bf and I split, and we couldn’t even finish it!

Squashed Grapes is a blast… I have been there at least 6 or 7 times now and never been disappointed! Adam and Josh are knowledgable and fun proprietors. Always fun to chat with them! The wine is good… and the music.OMG.Phenomenal! We have a little gold mine here in our sweet town of Ventura!

My Mom and I made wine at Squashed Grapes and hosted a party once our wine was done to celebrate our finished product. The wine making process was really fun. You literally do everything from making the wine, to naming the wine, to designing a label. The celebratory party was a lot of fun as well. I still have a couple bottles from the wine we made years ago that I need to open. Our wine tastes great. Thank you squashed grapes.

I planned to meet 2 friends here and arrived early and sat at the bar. I smiled and told the server I’ve never been there and asked him to tell me a bit about their red wines. He was cold and rude to me also to my friends when they got there. Just a frown and attitude! We were disappointed and drank 1glass each and left.

I just read that Squashed Grapes has removed 98% of their«made in China» tools, products, bottles corks and all things related their business; what a fabulous idea! They now buy and use 98% local products. Thank you Squashed Grapes; we love you, your homie, Ferne and Don

Good friends, relaxing jazz, delicious wine, chill decorations. The place is small and intimate, cute. and decorated well. Staff are entertaining and attentive. Kiwi white wine and Zinfandel Lodi were both divine. Would definitely recommend if you are a fan of jazz… or not. I had a great time and will be back

Love this place! Made my own wine here and they were totally great. They walked me through all the steps, taught me about the wine making process, and were totally down to earth about the whole thing. I am thinking of getting into it more and this was a great step to get my feet wet. Part of the package you buy includes a wine tasting to pick which one you want, then when it’s ready, you can have as many people as you want for a bottling party. You can make your own label, which they will help you with, and by the end, you have about 30 bottles of wine! I will probably be back soon!
