What a great restaurant — love the greek salad, skirt steak and greek chicken. The fish is also delicious. The owner is so friendly and accommodating. Service is really good. I recommend you try it. It’s nice to visit a «local» restaurant that has a welcoming atmosphere.

I just got home from having dinner at Charms. I have been there at least twice before. It is so nice to eat at a restaurant that serves you a full course meal at reasonable prices, high quality food and pleasant servers. My husband had the Greek skirt steak which is as big as the platter it is served on. This was served with fresh stalks of broccoli and your choice of potato. It is served with soup or salad. I has the chicken kebob which I order everywhere and this is one of the best. It was served on a platter with rice and potatoes. I had the salad and it was fresh and the dressing was delicious. A piping hot loaf of crusty bread was also served. This place is like being at a Supper club in Door County. I love the menu choices, the homeyness, and the friendliness of the staff. I highly recommend this place for a square and plentiful meal served by cheerful people who really seem happy when you enjoy your food. Kudos to an establishment that tries and succeeds. Even the ice tea was good with 2 nice big lemon wedges!

I was really disappointed in this restaurant. I should have known by the empty parking lot that this place was going to be a letdown. But Unilocalers gave this place an overall 4 star rating, so we decided to try it anyways. We started with an order of fried calamari. It was definitely frozen calamari thrown in a deep fryer. It was tough and chewy. We didn’t finish it. One of the waitresses asked if we wanted it packed up and we said no. She asked if we didn’t like it and we told her not really she said oh and walked away. The rest of our meal was pretty disappointing as well. The French onion soup was pretty tasteless and so was my Philly cheese steak sandwich.

DISGUSTING! the entry way smells like smoke and so do the bathrooms. My Greek salad looked and tasted like it was purchased from McDonalds and my husband’s steak was well done when he requested medium. The only thing that was great is the service. From the waitress to the owner to the helpers were exceptionally nice and accommodating but they need to get some new cooks. Never coming back

There’s something for everyone on the menu. I ordered the Greek salad. It was one of the freshest I’ve ever had. Pleasant atmosphere. Great service. I will be back.

We had a lovely dinner. The service was great; the owner attentive and friendly. The food was great! I had the Charms chicken and my husband had a steak. Nice evening out! They also gave a nice outside eating area.

Service was sweet and very friendly, but extremely slow. The food was lacking in seasoning and fairly tasteless. Sad. Really wanted to like this place.

So sorry to do this review. This place looks way better than it cooks. Our meals seem like mere cafeteria chow than meals from the past owners of this place. Really, I thought everything that they brought us was frozen just moments before. Do NOT try their calamari! it was 90% breading like something you’d buy in a freezer case of a supermarket. Needless to say, we will never be back. Who knows, maybe they’ll get better?

Just got back from my first trip to Charms. I’m in the area often for work and was looking for a new place and picked Charms based on Unilocal reviews. What a find. Got there fairly early(local time) and it was not very crowded. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our server(Eva?) was fantastic. Explained specials, answered all of our questions, was very attentive. Our food was very good. Both the broccoli soup and salad were very good. Greek vinaigrette dressing was spot on. Our entrees were excellent — a fish special and the chicken kabob. Overall, a great experience. I plan on going back next time I’m in the area.

DW and I decided to give Charms a try tonight. Overall pretty good. We had the fish special Grecian style with salad or soup, veg and potato. Very good tasting and a pretty good value. Wife liked her salad but my onion soup was very bland. That and a $ 6 beer were my only complaints. Was a little noisy as others stated, but that didn’t bother me much. Service was very friendly and attentive. Nice menu selection — something for everyone. Overall a nice upgrade from Angelo’s and Gugg’s.

Going crazy from cabin-fever on a frigid Friday last week, my girlfriend Lisa and I decided to check out the new(ish) «Charms» not too far from her condo. We arrived around 6pm, hung up our coats, easily found a couple of seats at the lengthy L-shaped bar for a warm-up wine, and I began to explore the place in more detail. First, it had my Three Must-Haves for any successful venue(LTS): soft Lighting, a warm interior Temperature(just right!), and a relaxing Sound level, between friendly conversations at the bar and soothing background music. Although there were a couple of flat-screens above the backbar, I was happy to notice the sound was off. We ordered two varieties of the house wine, which was a perfectly respectable Robert Mondavi Woodbridge, with what I consider by today’s standards to be «a generous pour.» The interior is cozy, with a variety of tables and booths, and although they were almost entirely occupied, Charms did not feel crowded or «too busy,» and you know what that’s like when you feel packed in like sardines, with the servers whizzing around just oozing speed and stress! When we were ready, we took our places at a booth near the window. Checking out the menu, I realized for the first time that Charms boasts a definite Greek influence; I also thought the prices were quite fair. I ordered the TWO8-oz. Pork Chop Dinner(Greek Style) with applesauce, salad, veggie and baked potato… and all for just $ 14.99? Wow! Lisa opted for the Greek Style Grilled Skirt Steak with soup instead of salad(same sides) for $ 18.99. Then she spotted another diner digging into a French Onion Soup, and upgraded hers to that for just a buck-fifty extra.(Be sure to check out my photos I’ll be posting after this review… they say it all!) Lisa, a huge fan of French Onion Soup, was in love with Charms’ offering(and the crusty bread we received), saying it was the BESTFR Soup she has EVER had in her life… and it was not too salty, as many of them can be.(Since she was in France last fall, and Greece 2 years earlier, I think that speaks volumes!) Once her skirt steak arrived, she was astonished at how HUGE it was… and delicious, with roasted potatoes and tender broccoli and carrots on the side. I tasted it too and we both loved it. My pork chops looked smashing(see photos), but when I tasted the first few bites, unfortunately, they seemed much too dry. Lisa did a back-up taste and totally agreed. Our very attentive server, Ava(who originates from Crete), whisked them away to be replaced… and within a minute or two, the owner, Steve, visited our booth, bent down on one knee to be at our eye level, and apologized in a very genuine way. I said that I know(as we all do) that sometimes when a chef is so busy, something minor like this can happen… a slight overcooking on a tender pork chop. I also know(as we all do) that often the restaurant staff or manager may make a feeble attempt to take something off your bill, or replace a portion of your meal somewhat grudgingly, making you feel invisible when it is re-served to you. Not here! Steve’s attitude was SO heartfelt, and he even sent both Lisa and me a fresh glass of wine on the house. The new pork chop duo was fantastic! Tender, moist, and definitely becoming 2 more lunches in addition to my dinner! Thanks, Steve, for being so caring, attentive and truly gracious. Bottom line: This place ROCKS! The prices are so fair, the portions are monstrous, they click off all 3 items on everyone’s Atmosphere List, the service is wonderful, and the owner really, truly cares. It doesn’t get any better than this overall, peeps! In a word… Charms is simply charming! I hope to bump into you there soon!

This little neighborhood joint tries very hard but just doesn’t quite make the grade. They’ve done a lot to fix this little place by making it cozier and very friendly. But ultimately it all rests on the food and Charms is lacking. A much better menu than in previous iterations but the taste tends to the bland. We’ve been three times now and only the chicken Marsala was notable for its flavor. Last night we had the skirt steak sandwich which was incredibly tough and the Greek chicken. Too bad it came with both rice and potato along with the standard carrots and broccoli. It was just meh… nothing worth bringing home and frankly all those starches piled on just makes me wonder why? We really want to love this place but they need to fix the food. More taste please! I will state their prices are very reasonable and the service is great. Just need to tinker in the kitchen!

The atmosphere is very intimate. 6 beers on tap. One of the beers is Blue Moon, unfortunately they had no oranges. Good view of the tvs. The bathroom is cold. Good selection of liquors. I had the mozzarella sticks and the jalepeño poppers were delicious, and not too hot that would burn the mouth, so that was nice. They were 6.99 each, not crazy expensive for me. Scott the bartender was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu.
