Chive

I make the drive from Port St Lucie every week to eat at Chive. (45 minutes) The food is absolutely amazing, and the staff is very friendly! Anyone that would rate this place below 5 stars… is just not human.

Chive was a really good find, especially when one is craving delicious tacos that you had the day before, only to discover your delicious taco place is closed on Sundays. Poor poor Todd.
Anyway, you would rightfully ask, «what the heck are you doing in Vero Beach?» And I would respond, most of the time, sleep-​walking or kidnapped or abducted by aliens and accidentally dropped off in the wrong place. However, Melissa and I were on our way back from Stuart/​Jensen Beach (I know, not any better, but we had an event to attend) and discovered that nearly every place worth eating is closed in Stuart on Sundays, so we started driving home and looked to the Unilocal for assistance, and as always, Unilocal came through.
Chive is essentially Chipotle with more options. You can get tacos or burritos or bowls, but you can get meat, chicken, pork, lobster, and lots more. They also have a lot more fillings (such as Thai noodles) and sauces (such as a chipotle (or was it habanero) cream sauce). On this day, I went with pork in a burrito, which came with rice and beans, and I added cucumbers and thai noodles and I am sure other things that I don’t recall. It comes with a side, and I went with chips and salsa.
Besides the fact that the woman helping us couldn’t have possibly acted more like she wanted to be anywhere else but there, this was a really good experience. The food was fresh and delicious and there was plenty of it and the burrito stayed together until then end (which is more that you can say for any Chipotle burrito). The chips were very good, but the salsa not-​so-​much. The salsa just tasted like tomatoes that got thrown into a blender. Very little spice or flavoring. However, that shouldn’t deter you — just don’t get the chips and salsa as a side.
I am not doing the description of Chive justice. The number of options for creating your meal is fantastic. The various proteins you can include means there is something there for everyone.
Yes, my Tampa friends, you are not going to go all the way out to Vero Beach for this place, and even if you’re driving through on your way to anywhere else, this is a good 10 – 15 miles off the highway. However, should you find yourself in this vicinity, for whatever reason, this should be where you eat. You’ll thank yourself for sleep-​driving you there safely.

Fantastic! Something for everyone. My Favorite is their Marinated Chicken Wraps though. Ohhh –Yeah!!! SO Tender, juicy, and flavorful! –Plus they have a huge selection of toppings and dressings and some great side dishes as well. I really prefer this location (Royal Palm Pointe off Indian River Blvd. near Miracle Mile) the best. Staff is always Super Friendly, and I like the option and «Ambiance» of the outside patio when the weather is nice.
*** The Only thing I Wouldn’t Recommend is their version of «Philly Cheesesteak». Of all of the menu options I’ve tried– this was just dry, chewy, and so very disappointing. Definitely not the real thing! Other than that –LOVE this place! It’s always a «Winner» when friends and family come to town; whether it be eating There, or calling for take-​out!

Service was wonderful. We walked in and a staff member immediately noticed the, «we’ve never been here before» looks on our faces. She explained everything to us and genuinely thanked us for driving out to give them a try. Food was great and the we loved the comfortable atmosphere.

Sad and disappointed as this was one of my favorite places in Vero Beach even though I agree with other reviews that say it is weird location and connected to Hair Salon
Think the focus of trying to Franchise and/​or be Chipotle (which Chive copied) has taken the focus off fresh, local and great customer service
It is expensive and the food quality is now lower and inconsistent due to owner trying to «make living» Now Chive up-​charges for what was included and is still be advertised/​shown as big chunks of lobster, shrimp and thick seafood cakes.
Owner admitted even the lobster bisque, soups and chowder is mostly liquid now and that the lobster and shrimp portions should be same but are not
The ahi tuna is also no longer same quality or color. Ahi tuna is not supposed to be grey or brown

The people are so friendly.
Lots of great food to choose from. You get your «base» which can be a rice bowl, a po boy, a burrito, etc. Then you choose the meat, the fillings, and a sauce from their massive list. Their soup is wonderful. Also the mac n cheese is made to order.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was even better. Definitely will be back

WOW! We had the lobster rolls, ahi poke nachos and the Korean beef tacos, and every bite was heavenly! Even the sides — Swiss Mac n Cheese and lobster bisque were fabulous! Amazing dishes — wish we had this in Boca!

The food here is so good! I ordered the poke tacos and I wish I could eat them every day. By far the best food I’ve had in Florida… simple seafood done well.

Good quality food. Weird location, weird setup. They have tried to make it a «fast casual» thing a la Chipotle or Subway, but personally I would just simplify it into 6 – 8 standard dishes and a few specials. The place is a bit hard to find (it’s around the back of a hair salon) but as I said the food was good. The pastrami eggrolls were the highlight of my meal.

This place was ok… it is «Chipolte» style food that is priced high, is very edible, and probably fresh. It just did not do it for me. Some places do… this one did not. It came recommended by a young diner… so that may have influenced the recommendation. It is a younger crowd… not sure why. Parking, service, and food are all acceptable. No bad meals, no dining experiences either.

Wow! This is my first review and I had to do it. Why? Poke Nachos. The best ever! We arrived with a party of 3 and were offered up a variety of selections. It was like a gourmet chipotle with upscale food. The owner stopped our table and was very friendly.

Great hidden gem! Spectacular place for a quick bite on our trip down south.
Got a Lobster roll (which was AMAZING) and my wife got Lobster taco. Both well filled with lob meat, enough to fill me up.
A bit pricy I’d say (ended up with a 50 $ for two sandwiches in the end…) but worth the money more than other options

This restaurant is a wonderful find in Vero beach. You can get gourmet cuisine loaded with flavor at this beach restaurant. The owner is very warm and friendly. Will help you choose tasty dishes to dine in or to go. There’s a nice patio and indoor dining. There’s also take out if you are pressed for time. Overall it was an excellent experience, would recommend you stop here if you are in the Vero beach area. There are three locations to choose from. Great experience.

This place is amazing! Friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere, lovely outside seating as well. I had the Connecticut style lobster roll and swiss mac n cheese, and it was to DIE for! I will definitely be back for more!

Excellent food served in a similar style to Chipolte but of a much higher standard.
The lobster salad was mind blowingly good.

This Chive location provides a much larger seating area (both indoor & patio) and parking then the Old Dixie Hwy spot. This one is off IR Blvd & Royal Palm Pointe, close to the north VB bridge. About 10 mins from the beach.
Food & drinks are high quality and the prices reflect that. Service was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. Great for lunch and a light dinner.

This place is like Chipotle on CRACK and at least ten times better!!!
Those were the words my friends used to describe Chive when telling me where they wanted to take me to eat. As can be expected, with such a raving review, I was more than a little skeptical. After all, I was being told that the restaurant I was about to east at basically put the mega-​franchise chipotle to shame…
Walking through the doors, I wasn’t blown away by the ambiance, my first impression wasn’t leaving me in awe… However, after seeing my ordering options, and taking my first bite, I was left in a happy place of awe and wonder!
The only bad thing about Chive, is that it’s not found across the country. That’s just awful…
