My husband and I stopped here upon a recommendation of a friend. Wow! Are we glad we came! The food is so authentic and fresh. We both ordered the Mashawi plate. All of the meats were so flavorful. The hummus was out of this world. We loved everything! The lady who takes your order could not be nicer. It is a very comfortable place to come. It feels like they have invited you into their home. Next time we come I want to try the rice pudding. We live over an hour away but will be back for sure! So glad to have found this place.

Just Had for takeout. The salmon special(on Fridays) was fantastic. Very filling and healthy tasting. Can tell that a lot Of time is spent in preparing the meal. Much better then restaurants like sinbads and alladins

I love their food and have eaten here several times. Dine in and take out. My wife and I absolutely love gyros and they have the best we have ever tasted. The location they chose is rough with crappie parking and small rooms with a few tables so dining in is not that impressive until you eat their food. Take out was slow and waited forever for 2 gyros, but they were worth the wait the way they tasted. I hope they make it because the quality of their food is fantastic.

First time at El Basha. Had a great meal. Started out with two appetizers — falafel and gebna masri — both were fantastic. Best falafel I’ve ever had. We then had a gyro pita and the chicken kabob plate as main dishes. Again, both very good, no disappointments. For dessert we had the Egyptian rice pudding. It was love at first bite. Fresh coconut, cinnamon, and baklava — YUM! definitely recommend and will return.

Ordered the Fata Beef Shawarma. This is some of the best Mediterranean food that I have had, and by far the best in Rochester. The basmati rice was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the beef was tender and flavorful. You could tell that the peppers, onions, and tomatoes were fresh and were high quality. Compliments to the chef. Very pleasant dine in experience, although the setup is more geared toward takeout. If you are in the area, you need to try El Basha.

Came here with some local friends who heard it was good. We were greeted by a sweet woman who ended up being the owner. We found a seat, perused the menu, and ordered what turned out to be the most delicious food! Our table ordered the Dolma($ 6.99) and Gebna Masri appetizers, and tried the Shawarma Plate($ 12.00 with hummus and El Basha salad), the Mashawi Plate($ 14.75 for 3 different types of kebab, and hummus), the vegetarian plate($ 11.00 for baba ghanouj, hummus, falafel, tabouli, and tahini) and the Data Karouf Saturday special($ 15.00 for sauteed lamb with rice, and salad). It all came with lots of torn pita for the table. The owner stopped by several times to see if we were happy and enjoying the food. Wonderful food, amazing service!

The food is fresh, flavorful and amazing! And if you need to eat gluten free(because you’re celiac or otherwise), they’ve got you covered– the chef/owner knows all about it and can tell you what’s safe(most of the menu). We’ve come back 4 – 5 times and the food is still so so delicious, and the staff is very friendly!

Fantastic food at a reasonable price — really enjoyed my falafel pita, the dolmas were also a big hit — they were made fresh and served warm. Overall my meal was under 10 $. Nice details like pickles with the appetizers and a slightly different set of spices/flavors that I was used to — based on the decorations it may be a bit of an Egyptian slant on Mediterranean food. They look like they do take-out and I would definitely stop by again if I’m in the area. Small place easy to miss on the main street through Victor. They have a very well put together website if you’re interested in the full menu.

apparently a new place(we happen to be passing through). Casual, food was very good. Far outweighed the fact that ice machine was on the blink. Easy. place where you order and they’ll bring food out

Called ahead this time, so no waiting. Tried the«Egyptian Garbage Plate,» a big heap of lentils, chick peas and pasta topped with tomato sauce and fired onions. It had enough flavor for FIVE dishes. Amazing. It came with a side salad, and that salad dressing, acidic and very spicy… just delicious. I used the included pita bread to sop up every single molecule of it from the takeout box. I’m so worried about this place, the kitchen is so small… Come on Victor people, eat here soon and return often! It’s the only decent place in your town(okay, chit-chat also rocks). Don’t blow it Victorites.

Visited El Basha for the third time last week for lunch and was very pleased. Though they are still using plastic cutlery and paper plates(due to their small kitchen with small sink) this time the quality of the food for the items we ordered overpowered my concern for the paper/plastic waste. They were also very busy! We arrived at noon and there were several people waiting for take out; we sat down in one of the two rooms after ordering and by the time we finished every table had people. Glad to see word is getting out. For food, we had tabouli(lots of parsley and scallions with less than the usual amount of bulgar), labni(which they have listed as ‘tzaziki’ but it’s really labni with slices of cucumber on top and a drizzle of olive oil), and koshary — their ‘Egyptian garbage plate’, with rice, pasta, lentils, fried onions and a rich tomato sauce, served with a side of fatoush salad. I was really pleased to see it on the menu since they didn’t have it on my previous two visits. All the flavors were great and complimented each other well. The food here takes a little while to come out — partly because they are making every dish fresh per order and partly because the kitchen is small and they can only do so much at a time. But the recipes are the real deal. The chef is a culinary school grad with experience cooking at the Four Seasons in Cairo; he says despite all his training and experience, the best recipes are those from the matriarchs in his family and they require hours and hours of prep using authentic ingredients imported from various locations in the middle east. You can definitely taste it. Looking forward to returning and tasting more of the menu — especially the dolma which are served warm in a sauce with side of labni!

Brought two kids and five adults. Everyone enjoyed the meal except that the schwarma was very dry. The salad was ok. We all loved the hummus and falafel. It was fried perfectly, not greasy. I lived in MI four years and have tried at least a dozen places like this. I am no expert, but I would say it is good if you want variety, but not the best I have had. The service was VERY friendly and the place was clean.

I ordered a takeout vegetarian plate. The plate was put in a container without dividers. Everything ran together into one mush mess by within 5 mins. The peta bread was cut so small that you couldn’t put any veggies or hummus inside it. When I ordered and PAID for a fountain drink TOGO. I got my cup at the register… The ice machine was broken, so warm soda it was, THEN there was NOLIDS for the TOGODRINK. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this one just really bugged me. You may be new but not having lids for your warm soda is really not acceptable. Only half of my expensive plate was edible.

Great food with generous portions. Staff is extremely friendly. They use quality ingredients unlike a lot of fast-food Arabic restaurants. I will definitely be going back for more!

First time at El Basha for us last night. Such a welcome addition to Victor! Wonderful Middle eastern food with unusual choices like the Foule, an Egyptian favs bean dip. Because it was the weekend the lamb dish was available– absolutely exquisitely seasoned. The falafel were the best out friend had had in the United States. (I’m giving it a 5 to encourage people to go through the logistics still need a little tweaking like hopefully eventually bring able to use actual plates and cutlery instead of disposable but the most important thing is the food is great and the chefs and server just lovely people. Best wishes to El Basha!

Loved this little gem. Only open a few days, but food was fresh, original and Sam helped us craft a sampling of several dishes. Can’t wait to spread the word.

I was so happy to see ‘Mediterranean’ food on a sign as I drove down Route 96 in Victor. And the name made me hope that perhaps it was Turkish or Lebanese, two of my favorite foods to experience in restaurants. So I stopped, brought my finnickey Mom in with me. Burger sign was still up, so I was expecting a split /shared restaurant. No, it is a complete single restaurant, Egyptian Restaurant! Woot! Made me happy. The service was great! The hostess/waitress and manager was super friendly. The Chef was super busy, he also is the owner and Egyptian… so the food is authentic. I can’t describe the food except to say as an ex NYC/New Jersey native that once enjoyed a variety of ‘Middle Eastern’ establishments, this place is now my new favorite restaurant. We had the Vegetarian Plate — Hummus, falafel(excellent), tabouli and BABAGHANOUJ! Lots of Pita Bread Pieces to eat with. We also had the Chicken Kebab Plate, which to me is one of the standard dishes, and it tasted as good as any of the best I had at my favorite but defunct Turkish Restaurant. The night was capped with fantastic Rice Pudding — Roz Leban Next time I look forward to getting some Turkish Coffee(Espresso), which was the only disappointment in that was not yet available. They have been open only for four days!
