Fresh Donut & Deli

Here we go again another sleeper. I was craving a donut. Saw this place and thought hmm let me give it a try. The the young lady behind the counter was very friendly and she was talkative and she actually gave me my donut for free. Since it was my first time there. Then I bought a half a dozen. That’s great customer service.

Any donut shop is A-​OK with me.
Unfortunatly, this one just doesn’t stick out.
Service was meh… the girl clearly did not want to be working.
Selection not much left, which made it easy for me not to go overboard.
The opposite, this is one of the very few times I walked out of a donut shop with one! donut.
Chocolate topped, custard filled, it was tasty, cheap (think about 90 cent) and did the job.
Great, or worth going back to? No, but good to have here should I need sugar on Mohave.

I was here a year or two ago — I stopped on a road trip from Vegas to San Diego. To be honest, I stopped here for a bathroom, because the awful people at the gas station in the next building claimed to not have a restroom (despite us buying a full tank of gas and having a small child who really needed the bathroom!).. . but back to the Fresh Donut & Deli! They were happy to allow us as customers to use the restroom, so since we wanted to be customers, we bought some donuts. These were probably the best donuts I have ever had. We bought 6 donuts and hopped back in the car for our trip. And as I started eating them, I wished I could turn the car around to buy a dozen instead of a half dozen. Ever since then, I have tried to plan a stop on our road trip to get donuts here, but it has never worked out because of travel times and the shop’s hours. I hope the new management kept the recipes similar, because these were very good donuts. I highly recommend it, if you live in/​near Victorville or if you are driving through on the way to California.

I wanted to like this donut shop, but it’s just not going to happen. The store is small and quaint, the tender that helped us was very kind and enjoyable, however, it was the lack of sanitation that will keep me away from this shop. The location is a little rough, but once inside there were numerous flies about and the tender did not wash her hands when making our sandwich after handling our money and two other customers.

Quite possibly the world’s best donuts located in the heart of the desert. Best deals in town with fresh donuts made daily. Grab one or grab a dozen for around $ 6. I bet you can’t just eat one. You cant get enough of them. How you like them apples? How about an apple fritter in your face? Not only do they have donuts, they also make have a fresh deli for delicious sandwiches and a great selection of yummy ice cream for dessert on top of your dessert while you’re in the desert!
