FANTASTICDIVEBAR! It knows what it is and it doesn’t apologize for it. Cheap drinks, good atmosphere and a great place to get drunk. It has was every dive bar should: cheap booze, decent food, accessible location and colorful people.

This is a whole in the wall bar. Everything is dirty and the staff is always drinking on the job. Very unprofessional. The owner does not care since he owns 2 other bars in Elmhurst. If they clean up the bar every night and had some heart for the place it could be a good local bar again. But who wants to get sick off the draft beer and fruit flies in the place.

For some reason I come back to this place often, maybe it’s because I’m being drug here kicking and screaming, or its just a place I know. This is the definition of a dive bar, It’s dark, it smells, its hot half the stuff behind the bar doesn’t even work. They have a few tv’s and a few slot machines. Service is alright. When I walk into this place lately I feel that I need a shower in Bleach when I get home. This place doesn’t look like the owners have done anything since the early 90’s to this place. I would go Somewhere else!

Don’t expect much. Your typical«hole in the wall» bar. Affordable drinks = yes. Professional atmosphere and staff = nope. There was a dog running around in the bar recently with the owner barely in sight.(No, it was not a seeing eye dog).

I love this place. Sure, it’s not a super classy place but that’s not why I go there. I go there for the very affordable drinks, towny bar feel, and the fast, friendly service. I can’t vouch for most of the other bartenders but I will say that Nicole is always on top of her game, no matter if there are only 2 people in the bar of if it’s packed. They have a reasonable sized menu(for a dive bar), though I have only had the veggie wrap. It was a basic wrap but it was tasty nonetheless. I will echo Mick O’s sentiments — it couldn’t hurt for them to do a thorough cleaning(the bathroom isn’t exactly the nicest around) but I always have a good time every time I go so I won’t hold that against them.

Yea the dog is getting a bit old but it has it’s own vibe. The staff is very friendly and works very hard at making your visit memorable. As you look around you can see a old style bar. Yea it really needs to be spruced up and a real good cleaning but somehow it gives the joint character. Prices are good, bartenders are not afraid to give you one on the house .I just hope that the management will try to spruce up the joint, ceiling tiles are left over from the smoking days and are in serious need of replacement, bathrooms are just plain gross ! Get rid of some of the clutter of posters, just do it ! If you are in the area give them a try ! Oh yea why cannot you get a light at the back door? But with that being said I am still a huge fan !

The«Bull» in Bulldog should refer to a bulldozer, because the place should be razed. I wonder if this comes up under«dive» bar on Urban Dictionary?

$ 2 you call its on Tuesday. What a deal! Nope– I have been there multiple times for this wonderful experience. A third of the times there was a bit of an uproar and fighting ensued. Not a bad time if you like to squeeze yourself around people, waiting for a one urinal, one toilet mens’ room, or elbowing your way to the barfront to get a very well made drink(LOTS of alcohol in them yum). No cover. Little parking(lots of free parking on the street though). Drunk women dancing on the tables.

Good neighborhood bar for this area. From the outside, I was expecting this place to be much more of a dive bar. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering. The drinks are pretty cheap($ 7/domestic pitcher) and the bartenders speedy. There are a lot of TV’s with sports on, and a loud jukebox. They serve food as well — the pizza looked decent. The beer selection is not good(only Bud, Miller, Guinness, and Sunset Wheat on tap), but I guess that is the tradeoff for super-cheapness. I would go back here to watch a game or meet up with friends before doing something else, but I prefer a better beer selection in my bars.
