The food is great and the prices are reasonable. Alcohol is alittle expensive, service is always good!

It’s about time VP got a bar, and The Post is doing everything right. The doorman/bouncer was super friendly, the band was awesome, and the drinks are reasonably priced(even for us Orange folk). The patio is beautiful at night, and the inside is clean and welcoming. Parking is no problem since its in the Ralph’s shopping center. I love the light Norman Rockwell theme, too – look closely at the sign and you’ll see that it’s called The Saturday Evening Post. I’ll be back for sure!

I’m giving this place two stars because the bartender was a complete bitch. I don’t have a clue as to why. She seemed so annoyed. I even mentioned it to my husband and he knew exactly which person I was referring to. You’re allowed to smile! It’s OK. You can act politely to customers. It won’t kill you, in fact maybe you’ll get better tips, or better yet not get fired.

Kerry is here. That is all I should have to say. Where ever she goes, I’ll go! She was at Quinn’s and at Nueport Seventeen and now here.

New to the area from Scottsdale AZ in the last month. Lisa(bartender) was so nice & courteous introducing me to the regulars. Beer was Ice Cold and food was good. Will be back, thanks Lisa!

My daughter’s soccer field is right around the corner at the high school so we end up here some mornings before or after the game in the bar area or on the patio. Breakfast is good, good beer selection and decent prices. It gets real crowded on NFL Sunday so you’ve got to get here early if you want a table; Saturdays are more mellow. I’d like to try to get back on a Friday night for the live music — it looks like a good set up and I’ve heard good things about it.

good food, good music, football and a good crowd. Place was very crowded, mostly to hear the live music, so service for food and drinks was super slow. We went on a Tuesday for taco and margarita specials, both were great. Prices and portions are fair. Casual neighborhood atmosphere, but classy décor.

Here for the first time. My husband ordered the short rob tacos and said they were greatttt! I on the other hand ordered the bone in pork chops. Mashed potatoes were delicious, other side brussel sprouts. They were mediocre with a bit too much sauce. Pork chops were a bit over cooked. Staff is friendly and attentive. Pastries: absolutely scrumptious! Tried the short bread cookie with chocolate which was good. Too many to choose so I added the vanilla cupcake with coconut. Wow! Delicious! Up next: band and yes, they were great! Would I come back? Yes, sure would!

I came here last night to meet up with a friend for a drink and to catch up. I have been looking for a go-to spot when I want something between a dive bar but still somewhat lowkey. This is a good place for that. The only downside is that it got a little bit too loud(from the music/TVs, not the people). I read some of the other reviews that complain about service but I didn’t experience any issues, but it also was not very busy when we arrived. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly and bubbly. We ordered a round of nice, cold beers and by the time we were almost finished, she had come by asking if we wanted another round. We did! :) Their beer selection isn’t huge but you can still find what you like. The 805 definitely hit the spot last night! I eventually ordered the mac & cheese at the suggestion of our waitress. She knew I had been looking at it during the first round of drinks, and she highly recommended it so I caved. I wish she had let us keep our menus, however, because I did not realize that it came with pieces of chicken and mushroom. I’m not a big meat eater and I don’t like mushrooms, but I could have dealt with it had the mac & cheese been good. It’s hard to screw up mac & cheese in my opinion, but this was probably the worst I’ve had. It wasn’t creamy or cheesy like you’d expect it to be. It didn’t have any flavor at all. I decided that maybe I would like it better if I were sober and could fully taste it, so I asked for a box for my leftovers to reheat the next day. I tried to eat some of it, but ended up throwing it away. It’s just not good at all. I was really disappointed after the waitress had given it a strong recommendation. I’ll be back for the beers and because the location is convenient, but I don’t think I’ll order food again.

We love their Taco Tuesdays and they have a great patio area to enjoy them on. 3 great choices of meats and good salsa. Attentive staff and any place with Sculpin on tap is doing things right.

Great space and location. This would be a go to spot if the food was better. Menu needs total makeover. Our food nearly always is served cold and must be sent back. Please change the kitchen staff and menu. The Post shows so much promise but the food is a regular disappointment.

I really love this bar and it’s perfect that it’s a half mile from my house, so I can stumble home!!! I like the choices of beer they have on tap and they make a good Old Fashion cocktail… their burger is pretty good and the Tarter Tots with bacon is even better! I now have a new local watering hole!

I’ve been to the Post several times. The only complaint(and it’s an important one!!!) is the service is SLOW. The servers typically blame delays on the kitchen staff. Meanwhile, the owner is ALWAYS there and I’ve never seen him pitch in once to help his servers or step in and apologize to patrons for the POOR service. There is an element of a clique at the Post, so if you’re in that inner-circle with the staff, service is much better. Just sayin’

I did not realize this bar is really an annex attached to Rockwell’s. The food is all right, a tad disapointing, but then I just had a turkey bacon club. I had to send it back as the bacon(a generous amount) was stone cold and way undercooked. The garlic fries were on the soggy side, My friend had the steak salad and she said it was good, especially when she added my avocado I asked for on the side. The service was somewhat better than the food, very personable server, even though she had part of the restaurant and the bar area. The décor is the best part, industrial but warm. Nice sturdy wood tables. Something to know if you are trying to stay away from smokers; there is a sliding wall that opens the restaurant up to the outside bar area. Very cool but there were smokers just on the other side of the wall and when it was opened up, it was like being in the old smoking sections. My friend is asthmatic, so we had to leave to get away from the smoke. The live entertainment was set to come on, but we missed that. There was a magician making the rounds. I will go back, but will know what to expect.

I love this bar, luckily it’s close to home. I always have fast service regardless how busy they are. The food is good, prices are great, especially for villa park. There is indoor and outdoor seating, the décor is on point. I can’t stand these people who have 3 friends and 3 reviews trying to post about something negative. No one likes a hater.

I love this bar! Great bartenders and servers! Really cute venue! Mix of industrial and early 1900s décor. Plus, it’s less than a mile from my house! Haven’t tried the food yet, but looks good! They also have live music on the weekends! AND if you’re in the mood for sweets, you can walk right over to the bakery. They are attached.
