I pass the place every time I come to V.H.The prices are too high. The place is not clean and there always seems to be some unsavory characters there that may live in the hotel next door.

Mocha Motts is always a friendly, fast paced experience. I’m a black coffee drinker so I know a good brew from the first sip. They have a good brand and full line of merchandise that I’m a fan of. Mocha Motts stickers are all over the island and embedded in Vineyard culture. A large black iced coffee is all I needed but was welcomed with some Chocolate covered Espresso beans. I was sold.

Spunky, great coffee and food, fast and friendly service. Motts is where it’s at. It’s not a good trip home without a trip Motts.

Love this place, the staff, food & coffee! Some of my favorites: Americanos, breakfast burritos and chocolate chip cookies I’d swear were from heaven if I did t know they were made from scratch & baked right there. Miss it now that I’m off island but a treat when I go back!

Literally the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. Terrible attitudes at the counter. Inappropriate banter coming from all six employees. Everyone stood around on their phones. Disgusting floor and kitchen visibly not clean. Employees not following any health regulations. No recommended for anyone. I work in the restaurant business and have loads of experience in cafes. It was pretty sad watching everyone not care.

Love love love their iced lattes. Friendly staff, yummy coffee. I just wish they were open after 7pm! It’s a very laid back, neighborhood-y atmosphere, too.

Great coffee, but some of the most unfriendly, rude people serving it! Best to ignore them, get in and get out. Saddest part, is employees with such sour attitudes that are so self-centered that they seem to believe the customer is there to serve the employee. I will come back, but only to get my coffee and run clear of the toxic energy and contempt for their customers.

The staff is always friendly, and prompt. The baked goods are fresh and tasty, my favorite is the Cranberry Nut Muffin. Drinks are priced about what you would expect for a smaller coffee shop on Martha’s Vineyard. All in all Mocha Mortal is worth the time.

Finally got to Mocha Motts. We tried the day before in Oak Bluffs but they closed at 6pm. We were a little surprised this being tourist season. We had an Iced Mocha latte with a shot of coconut syrup. It was good. The girl who helped us was very nice as she danced behind the counter.

A great neighborhood spot and community resource for downtown Vineyard Haven, as evidenced by the chatty staff, extensive array of events posted on the board opposite the ordering counter, and a consistent flow of people coming in and out of the café, or enjoying themselves in the outdoor seating area, at any time of the day. But I also find this place to be somewhat grimy, the titular mochas to be not especially flavorful, and some of the food offerings to be less tasteful than they could be, so I think I will be sticking to lattes and other more basic drinks as time goes on. It’s surprising that they don’t offer a wifi connection. Nonetheless, the café is a perfect place to get the pulse of downtown VH on any given day, and has become a community magnet since Mott’s expanded over here sometime in the mid 2000’s from their original location in Oak Bluffs. Definitely worth trying out and seeing for yourself.

Very cool place that happened to be right next to my hotel so it was perfect for coffee on the run! The place is decorated very hipster but it just works. It’s a small place but they have a few tables. I went for the coffee and realized that they also have breakfast and lunch available so I’ll have to come back and check that out. I ordered one of their winter specials called mocha mint latte with soy milk and both ladies behind the counter were really nice taking my order and helping me decide on what to get. I did think this place was a bit overpriced but I also do know that I’m in the vineyard so it’s normal. The coffee was delicious and did not need anything added to it. I thought the mocha mint was so yummy and I can’t wait to try another flavor!

Dumpy décor + apathy + so so mocha = probably not coming back On the positive end, outdoor seating and my wife’s decaf latte had hints of caramel.

Best mocha ever!!! and the décor! Their iced black coffee is also strong and refreshing, and a good pick me up in the afternoon(or in the morning, after a hangover). A Friend had their spinach bagel with bacon, eggs, and cheese — I wanted to rip it out of her hands after she offered me a bite! The bagel was sooo flavorful and soft; eggs and bacon were soooo good, and the cheese just completes everything.

Just plain cool! Super great vibe with a friendly and down to earth staff eager to please. The white chocolate mocha is outstanding! No need to even doctor it up with additional sugar and cream… comes out perfect. I also ordered the everything egg, cheese and bacon bagel. The flavours were outstanding. Again perfect in every way! Don’t miss this gem of a coffee shop! They know how to make a great cup of coffee and nibbles to accompany it with.

I have loved this coffee shop ever since Mott first opened it years ago! It’s not fancy, but the Iced Mochas are delicious and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. The iced coffee is tasty, too. And you never have to worry about finding cream for your coffee, because there’s a dorm fridge right there under the cream/sugar counter full of different forms of milk(dairy and otherwise) for your use! This coffee shop is WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE, has plentiful seating both indoor and out, and always has great music playing at a reasonable volume. It’s eclectic, sure, and you never know whether it’ll be Billy Holiday, Tom Waitts, or Christmas music in September, but I’ve always found it pleasant and not so loud that it impedes my ability to carry on a conversation with my coffee companions. Sometimes simplicity really IS the best thing. Hours change regularly, depending on the season, so if you’re heading over there in the evening after Labor Day, best to call ahead just to make sure they’re actually open.

Great coffee shop, good coffee, great personality, nice local art on display. Motts is a must stop if you are visiting and a regular stop for lotts(see how i did that?) of us who reside on island year round. Stop in, chat, read the paper, have a cup of coffee from a soy mocha latte to a house regular, you won’t be disappointed.

I love Mocha Motts. With a great hipster atmosphere and a lovely feel of the Vineyard, along with some top notch coffee and treats, you really can’t go wrong. It is a tradition of mine to make it my first stop to top off my tank with a coffee beverage when I travel to the Vineyard.

I’ve been to Mocha’s on a few occasions, and while I can’t say it’s anything extraordinary or even special, it is a warm, friendly neighborhood place to come, have a seat or get your goodies to go and recharge. They have a pretty great selection of teas in addition to all of their fancy coffees, and during the holidays serve hot apple cider and flavored drinks. They also have a boat load of baked goods, and since they’re only a short walk from the VH ferry terminal, it’s a great option for waiting for your boat. I usually go for a cup of tea(as I mentioned, they have a large selection of both herbals and breakfast teas) and the peanut butter cookie. The cookies are big and rather fluffy, which I don’t love but will do when I need a quick snack. The staff is young yes, but I’ve never found them to be anything but friendly and efficient. You can expect the usual curtness in the summertime, but hey — it’s downtown VH at the hight of the season.

This place and Citrine were the only worthwhile stops in a dwindling main drag in Vineyard Haven. Reasonably priced iced coffees and chais to caffeinate and beat the heat. What? You wanted a Starbucks? Psssh.
