Golden Corral

The food at this location is not as good as other Golden Corral locations, it’s very mediocre. They are very slow to replenish some popular items and other items stay on the steam table way too long and just dry out and appear very unappetizing. Food here is also frequently not hot. I’ve been to this location a few times and have been disappointed every time.

Eh nothing to be excited about if you eat good then you wouldn’t want to go there. That’s just me. I always eat good and this wasn’t anything close to my standards… but if you can only afford $ 10.00 for a breakfast meal then this is definitely for you. Just didn’t like it not saying the food is gross but this just isn’t for me. Enjoy

I like coming here. I love the variety of food all the time; breakfast is served all day now, yes! The only thing I will say about it though is that the quality of the food is consistently inconsistent. The sausage for the breakfast meats is usually dry and underseasoned. The mac and cheese is not always as thick in every batch they put out.
Other than that it’s a good place to come to; especially if you can’t make up your mind about what to have. The establishment is clean for the most part and the wait staff is always checkinv up on you. I will be back.

I haven’t sat down and ate at this location in a while simply because I don’t like how they allow children to walk around and get their own food. That is a hazard and nasty! Their hands are filthy and some people let their kids play in the food and down keep an eye on them. I defiantly don’t mess with their dessert section because of that. I do like their section I guess where their «soul food» is. The veggies are always seasoned good and I like the fresh steaks they cook in front of you. There’s usually plenty of seating when I actually do sit and eat. My main reason of visiting this location on the regular is for a dozen rolls to go. I then go to the grocery store and buy a pound of country ham to eat with the rolls. THE BEST SNACK EVER. I like bread so the fact that Golden Corral food is like dried out kinda doesn’t bother me. I love wheat whole grain and stuff like that. I did noticed the last few times the rolls tastes just as good but they’re getting smaller and smaller nooooo ! Lol I also don’t approve of being of being charged extra for butter or honey spread for my rolls to go. The rolls are about $ 5 a dozen. Over all though the customer service with the waiters and waitress is A1 they usually do good on the refills and thing like that.

I went there for the first time yesterday with my kids and we loved it. The whole restaurant was clean and welcoming our waitress was really nice she kept on checking on us to make sure everything was ok.
There were a wide variety of food because of course it’s a buffet they even had a breakfast station which my son was pleased because he could have pancake for dinner. The guy at the carving station was really nice. I’m not a fan of beef but I saw that were actually grilling steaks so I decided to try it and omg it was so good.
I didn’t get a lot of food but I tried the Mac and cheese, ham, steak, candied yams, fried rice, sesame chicken and italian sausage and they were all delicious. They also had a cotton candy machine which the kids were excited about of course.
I ended up paying around $ 27 for 2 kids and myself. The adult dinner cost around $ 12 each the kids were $ 5 each and then an additional $ 3 for all our drinks. I would say my overall experience was good. I gave it 4 stars because I didn’t try everything and also my waitress kept on bringing refills which I told her that I didn’t need.

This location is wonderful. The food is always hot, which is a good thing. Their fried chicken is the bomb dot com. Plus their veggies and pasta is seasoned just right. The only thing that’s not so good is their breakfast. It’s disgusting and cold. For some reason they don’t put much effort into breakfast. Other than that I could eat dinner there just about every night.

This was a great place to eat during our vacation. May 27, 2015. Rob was our server he was excellent. The old school mac and cheese with the ham was the bomb. Will come back again and request rob.

On the search for more biscuits!
I’ve eaten here twice for dinner and it’s okay. Not the best Golden Corral I’ve ever been to, but it’s still good.
My staples are a fried chicken thigh, garlic biscuits, and mac and cheese when I go. The biscuits were dry, but that happens at most GCs. The fried chicken thigh was okay. They didn’t rotate the chicken much, so the grease pooled at the bottom of the pan. Made the skin a bit soggy. The mac and cheese needed a little salt and this is coming form someone who never adds salt to prepared food (I feel like it comes off as a tinge bit rude).
Everything else was fine. Our server was at the top of her game. :-) Constant refills and attention. The table was clean, but there was some food on the chair. The server gladly cleaned it off.
It’s a standard Golden Corral, so you’ll get your money’s worth.

Customer service is everything… You probably shouldn’t get an attitude while on the phone when you work at GC. Doesn’t work. Smh

I can’t understand, why so much breaded food? I want something that won’t hurt my health. Chicken, Fish low quality, I’m not talking about some kind of salmon, tuna etc, just regular white fish would be nice. Haven’t find a food that i would like there, just some soup…
Hopefully they will get some more decent food, hate fried food it is just not healthy.

Ate here with friends when we were down in Virginia Beach area for the 4^th of July, 2014. Food was good, people were very nice. A gentleman in the back even specially made cotton candy for us, after he had cleaned the machine and was putting everything away. Would eat there again if in the area.

Good chicken and corn but everything else tastes like rubber. They have a ton of food selections but it’s not that great, sorry to say. Only good thing about this place is was the waiters/​waitresses, they were pretty nice to us and would come by and get out plates out of the way. It’s kinda like a crappier version of home town buffet, bleh!

This is good when your undecided and in a hurry, almost never a wait and big variety of food

Good ice cream. Christian and sulla are great servers .the food I’d better than most chain eatery. Management has gotten 100 better. Love the fresh pizza and veggies new menu items. Are great. Mary Jane is a great server also.

I feel silly stabbing at my keyboard about a GC because in the words of the prophets Roderick Stewart & Ronald Wood:

That about sums up any GC. It’s all been said before how at best the offerings are average and how the rest turns your colon spastic and this location fits the mold perfectly.
Busy as hell last Sunday afternoon as we happened to come right as a group of 22 pulled up. Thankfully we sat down far away from them because they were loud & obnoxious and left of the buffet looking like a natural disaster had occurred by the fried chicken. I digress.
Our drink schlepper was friendly enough and our cups while never runnething over also never rannith dry.
In terms of the food the carving station with the ham and turkey was surprisingly very good as both were fresh with good cuts. But to counteract that, everything in the dessert area tasted synthetic/​gross and the aforementioned fried chicken area looked ransacked.
I swear at home I have never been to my local GC but when on the road it’s like the Buffet Muse calls me with her siren song and just like Homer (Simpson maybe) would have done had he ever been to a GC, I beach myself of the rocks on gluttony returning again and again. (Burp!)

This place was unacceptable the food was cold the pizza and the macaroni cheese was good but the rest of the food is nasty

Omg the salt!!! Everything on the Buffett was EXTREMELY salty from the steak to the shrimp. Although they’re advertising «new menu options», everything looked and tasted the same except for the addition of hand-​spun cotton candy, disgusting fro-​yo, and hand scooped ice cream. If you must go, get ready to drink lots of water to counter act the salt & take your blood pressure medication, because you’re going to need it!

We went to the Corral for the breakfast buffet.
You’re going to want to go here starving to be able to taste half of the offerings. For $ 9.39 (I think) you have and endless supply and variety of fresh cooked offerings, beverages are included in the price. There is a guy grilling steak, chicken and polish sausage right in front of you. To the left are two people making omelets, to order, fresh or carton eggs (your choice). Then there is the salad canteen loaded with fresh veggies and an abundance of fruit choices. There is a taco bar, pizza, fried chicken and breakfast meat island. I also saw a selection of creamed type meats and gravies. For your sweet tooth there are several selections of cakes, bread pudding, banana pudding, soft serve ice cream and a chocolate fountain with a variety of options to dip into it.
My disappointments were the watered down orange juice and off brand yogurt. Neither were tasty. I didn’t see any egg choices other than the omelets and scrambled (which always come from a cardboard box).
But if you’re a big guy with a hefty appetite like my hub, this is the breakfast place to go to.

Of all the places my son wanted to go on his birthday, we decided to go to Golden Corral for dinner. I haven’t been to a Golden Corral in several years. I should have shut this idea down immediately after we walked in.
First off, I think everybody and their cousins in Hampton Roads was at this Golden Corral. I don’t like to talk about folks, but the People of Walmart had NOTHING on the People of Golden Corral! GC isn’t the cheapest place to eat anymore, so if you have that kind of money to treat your family out, you have that kind of money to come dressed appropriately. If I wanted to see some… sorry, off topic. This is about the restaurant. They don’t have control over the guests.
So let me start with the cashier. Wow! I think someone stole her best friend before she came to work. I said this before, stop being mad because you had to come to work to make money. You knew what you were getting yourself into as soon as you filled out the application. Just sayin’.
Now, you have 345,643 people in your restaurant, and you don’t have somebody to seat you? I’ve been to a few GC’s before, and the only time we got to choose where to seat was when there were only a few folks there. We walked around until we found a table for 6… right next to (I guess) the busing station. It smelled like dirty dish water!
Now to the waiter. I have no idea who this guy was. Probably because he didn’t introduce himself, and came to our table only to pick up the dirty dishes. Didn’t ask if we needed anything, what his name was, say «bite me», NOTHING! I didn’t want to ask him for a refill, because he was stacking all the dirty dishes on the same table as the pitchers of water and soda. And not for a few minutes… the dishes stayed there the entire time we were there. Just nasty!
To top this all of (and the reason I might not EVER return to any Golden Corral, some Filthy McNasty dropped some tongs on the dirty floor, STEPPED ON IT (by mistake), picked it back up, and PUT IT BACK IN THE CAKE that folks were standing in line for!!! What the *bleep*!!! Appetite lost! Again, not GC’s fault here, but seeing may have put the breaks on eating at another buffet place again.
Thank you very much Golden Corral for attracting the must unprofessional and nastiest people to this particular restaurant. By the way, I gave 2 stars instead of one because… well…the food was EXCELLENT!

Stone me if you have to… I love me some Golden Corral. There have been many times during my college days where I’d roll into a GC and throw down alone long before one man wolf packs were cool. I practically lived off some GC.
I honestly and truly love going to GC. For the food that is. I really can’t stand the environment. When I go (very rarely that I do) I try to find an empty spot in the restaurant to eat.
AYCE fried chicken is where it’s at. Have you ever checked out their dessert line up? Really… it’s special.
