Stopped in here for breakfast while touring the area. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Service was decent and relatively quick. This is one of those local family restaurants that still survive in an area where corporate America is slowly taking over. Good location and plenty of parking nearby(at least when I stopped by in the middle of the week). Portions are decent(maybe on the small side) and filling not putting you in the food coma realm.

Outrageously overpriced for a mediocre, bland breakfast. The place is cramped and dirty(our table was sticky). Also, as we were leaving, the guy at the door shoved a huge bag of lollipops in front of my kids(1yr &2yr) without asking me or my husband first. I wouldn’t come here again. I’d honestly lose my parking just to go down to Sunny Side on 1st or 2nd street.

I love pancakes so I can be very critical but theirs were good, held together with syrup on them,(I hate when pancakes fall apart) and were tasty. The home fries didn’t have a lot of seasoning on them but that wasn’t a big deal. The scrambled eggs were fluffy. My companion had eggs benedict. He liked them and gave me a taste and I thought they were very good, I hadn’t had eggs benedict before. The waiter was attentive and our food came out quickly. I will eat there again when I go to Va. Beach.

If you need a quick place in va beach for breakfast, and aren’t expecting too much, Maple Tree Pancake House will get the job done for you. Food is slightly above average in quality, service is quite good, and it’s quite reasonable. The building and décor inside needs substantial upgrading, and it’s looks quite rundown from the street, so it’s definitely not a fine dining experience as far as atmosphere is concerned. Go in with low to moderate expectations, and you walk away satisfied. Coffee is a bit in the weak side, but again, gets the job done. Pancakes satisfied the members of our party more than the eggs. Turkey club was also very good. Fruit salad is surprisingly fresh and generously sized. Only open for breakfast and lunch from 7am to 2pm.

This place only serves breakfast and lunch, but its a really good breakfast or lunch. The pictures I posted show the portions. Good quality and generous portions. We all took a doggy bag out with us. We would go back. The place has history to it. Service was good. The place was clean as well.

Food was about Ihop quality, service was very slow and sporadic. Prices were low at least. I don’t get the theme of the restaurant. It seemed very arbitrary and random

A very good little«mom and pop» place. Service was wonderful. Food(we got a light lunch) was very good and exactly what we were looking for regarding quality and price. We each had a sandwich and were very pleased. Just a nice, clean, casual diner.

Okay, the food is meh, but the service was actually quite excellent and my daughter really liked her chocolates chip pancakes and my wife also really enjoyed her Swedish pancakes. So actually not nearly as bad as it could have been for a 3 star spot. Would eat here again.

Everything was mediocre, but fast and friendly service. I don’t think the prices were necessarily bad, however I’ve been to many breakfast joints that served bigger quantities and better food. Great for vacationers who want breakfast within walking distance… if you have a car there are many better options nearby.

Had breakfast here this morning. The coffee was excellent. The pancakes were excellent. The scrambled eggs were mediocre. The bacon was ok. Order pancakes here and you will be happy!

Breakfast was good not outstanding but good. My wife had the strawberry waffles. The waffle was cooked very well and seemed to have an ample amount of strawberries. I had their breakfast special. Eggs were a little bland and the ham just seemed to be warmed up in the eggs at the last minute. Pancakes were very good and light, could’ve used a little more butter. The server was vey attentive, but with less than 5 – 6 customers in the establishment, he didn’t have a lot of tables to be watching. The 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees and one orange juice ran around &27.00.

Mediocre overpriced food and bad service. I ordered the sausage & eggs, my husband ordered the western omelet– both came with buttermilk pancakes. Coffee was weak and lukewarm. Omelet was small. My husband said the ham in his omelet looked like«when a mother bird digests food then throws it up to feed her young.» Server disappeared and we had to ask the busboy to take our order. Yummy pancakes were the only redeeming quality. The whole place looks dirty and low-end. Menu bundles limit flexibility for those that don’t eat huge portions. They should offer a short stack option for specialty pancakes. Not worth it.

Microwaved bacon. Horrible rubbery pancakes. The omelettes are tiny and they even give you salsa that has been microwaved with celery in it. Wtf. Fellow Unilocalers… do not go here !!! TOTALTOURISTPLACE!!! NASTY.

Filthy. Where is the health department?!? Rubber pancakes, watery coffee, attentive bus boy eager to clear dishes while you are still eating. Use the ladies room first and you’ll lose you appetite and save money!

Just left. Ordered ham and cheese omlet. Came. piping hot. Service was great. Attentive but not hovering. Food was good despite Pocahontas being my go to. I would eat here again.

I just paid $ 12 + tip for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, hashbrowns & coffee. I dunno. Seems high. Tasted fine, good enough. Nice location, but not that nice.

Just finished a nice breakfast at the Maple Tree. We got there around 10:00 am on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t very crowded. Shortly after we were seated they started to fill up. Our orders were taken right away. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet which came with 2 buttermilk pancakes. The food was brought out hot and was very good. The omelet wasn’t thick and fluffy like some places make them but it was still good. The pancakes were also good. The coffee was weak but the orange juice was great. I’m not sure if it was freshly squeezed or not but I enjoyed it. My husband got the swedish pancakes which are crepes served with a raspberry butter. He said they were a little undercooked; not like the last time he had them when they had a crisp to them. We stumbled on this place last year when the Honey Bee was closed and enjoyed it very much so we decided to visit again this year. This year the food didn’t seem as good as it did before but I’m still giving it four stars because the customer service made up for anything lacking in the food. It’s a family run business and I really like the care and attention that they provide to all of their patrons. I’m still a fan and will go back again. One other thing to point out is that our check came to about $ 31 and I’m not quite sure why. Everything was accounted for but it just felt like too much to pay for breakfast.

I had a veggie omelet with a side of home fries and my husband had steak and eggs, plus we both had coffee and oj. My omelet was great. The veggies were bell peppers, spinach and onions, and they were flavorful instead of an afterthought like a lot of places. My plate was oddly wet though and it made my(cold) toast soggy. Home fries were ok. The steak was gristly but it was cooked well. Eggs(over hard) were perfect. The cold toast made it so the butter never melted. Lame. Coffee was mediocre but hot. Service was great. Oj was great! Major reason for the 3 stars instead of 4? It was almost $ 40 for our breakfast! Portions were huge but it still seems like too much.

It is what it is. For about $ 7, you can have pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee. The service is speedy — and I’m pretty sure that the owners are by the door to greet and thank every customer which is a nice touch. I’m going with 4 just to help these really nice people serving great food get their rating a bit higher vs the 3 bleh typical ratings in VA Beach, because we loved our breakfast here. Private Lot. Grab a lollypop on the way out!

The closes infront of the Holiday Inn. But parking was hard so we opted to have a lunch here. Coffee was served hot but before you get your creamer your coffee has turned cold. The steak. Ahhhh… The food? Hmmmm… But…they give you a candy at the door when you get to leave… And we went there kinda sandy and wet right after swimming by the beach. And that was ok with them. Friendly staff!
